Mariska Hargitay Gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Mariska Hargitay was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, E! Online reports. The "Law & Order: SVU" actress' star was placed next to that of her mother, actress Jayne Mansfield, according to E!.
Celebrities in attendance at the presentation included "Law & Order" creator Dick Wolf and actress Hilary Swank. "You are one of the icons of television and certainly, I think, the female icon for millions of women, not only here but all around the world," Wolf told Hargitay at the ceremony.
Hargitay has portrayed Det. Olivia Benson on his show since 1999.
