I expect the producers were worried that viewers would get sick of the Urkel dance if Urkel did it too often.

I dont think so The Urkel Dance could have been a major sucess, the funny thing is that the urkel dance that steve did seemed to attract laura closer to him in that episode she was even dancing to his moves lol.
