Sometimes she would put in a pickle on the side or some kind of fruit. It was really special for me when she would put in twinkies, too. In the early 80s, I still got bologna sandwiches, but she started making me turkey with mayo and cheese a lot. TVFactFan 02-23-2013, 11:04 PM Oh the Memories Janice 02-23-2013, 11:06 PM ^ Looks like the cheese is still in the clear wrappers, lol. *ROGER* 02-23-2013, 11:08 PM ^^^ Cheetos!!! I no longer eat cheese so it's been replaced with pickles when I have one. USATVFAN 02-24-2013, 12:54 AM I grew up in the 90s. I member my My Grandma making Bologna Sandwich for Lunch when I would go to her house,. It was okay, I remember not liking it very much. I actually Preferred Ham. Now my Younger Cousins who are much younger then me(Between 5-9) when they go to her house they get either ham or Turkey! dakert 02-24-2013, 01:11 AM I used to like Bologna and Summer Sausage sandwiches with Miracle Whip on Wonder Bread Sterling Holobyte 02-24-2013, 01:30 AM My mom used to make bologna sandwiches with Miracle Whip. Then one day I was over at my cousins and his mom made us bologna sandwiches with Hellman's Mayonaise, and on Wonder Bread to top it off. Never had that either. Naomi couldn't even get a lousy bologna sandwich right. LOL. She was a terrible cook. The worst was when she made chili. I hated Miracle Whip and loved Hellman's Mayonaise.:liplick: And I never went back. Miricle Whip stinks. Hellman's mayo is much better IMO. Penny Lane 02-24-2013, 04:17 AM Not me! I would never put mayonnaise on a sandwich!puke: MrCleveland 02-24-2013, 12:38 PM I'll eat bologna and cheese sandwiches once in awhile, it goes good with mayonnaise. steevo 02-24-2013, 02:13 PM I like bologna and cheese on occasion for lunch as well, but not the cheese that is wrapped in plastic (the Kraft singles I think they call it). I prefer the Land O Lakes deli cheese myself. GARFIELDKOOL 02-24-2013, 04:30 PM I ate them a lot as a child for many of lunches, now I can't even stand the smell of bologna. I agree. I was forced to eat it back in the day, now I won't even look at bolony. I never cared for it, but I had little choice. The Oscar meyer brand was the best. Penny Lane 02-25-2013, 12:33 PM Way back in the 50's before insulated lunch bags my mom me made bologna sandwiches with ketchup. By lunch time it was warm and the ketchup soaked into the white bread and SO delicious! I loved it! I had a red plaid metal lunch pail. Zoneboy 02-25-2013, 12:57 PM Not me! My daughter in the middle 70's had an Osmond Brother's Metal lunch box(at 7 years old she had a major crush on Donny)They're both up in the attic (the lunch boxes. Not Donny and my daughter) Sterling Holobyte 02-25-2013, 04:04 PM ^^^ Naomi couldn't even get a lousy bologna sandwich right. LOL. She was a terrible cook. The worst was when she made chili. Actually, it was Vinton who kept the plastic on the cheese. But you're right, Naomi was lousy in the kitchen. Remember when she made Vint that cup of "instant" coffee?! Miricle Whip stinks. Hellman's mayo is much better IMO. Yep! I agree. gilligan fanatic 02-25-2013, 04:08 PM Bologna is best with mustard and when it's fried! g0mjcMgRmyE *ROGER* 02-25-2013, 04:30 PM Actually, it was Vinton who kept the plastic on the cheese. But you're right, Naomi was lousy in the kitchen. Remember when she made Vint that cup of "instant" coffee?! Naomi's idea for making coffee in that episode was mixing instant coffee grounds with luke warm tap water. Gross! She was the worst. She put beer and fritos in her chili for that cook off episode. There was another episode on Mama's Family about bologna sandwiches. A Russian woman was staying with the Harper's and when she was in the kitchen with Bubba, he was teaching her how to make bologna and cheese whiz sandwiches with mustard. Penny Lane 02-25-2013, 04:32 PM [QUOTE=Sterling Holobyte]Actually, it was Vinton who kept the plastic on the cheese. But you're right, Naomi was lousy in the kitchen. Remember when she made Vint that cup of "instant" coffee?! And remember her "international"stew? Sterling Holobyte 02-25-2013, 04:37 PM Naomi's idea for making coffee in that episode was mixing instant coffee grounds with luke warm tap water. Gross! Yeah, but worse than that, I think it was regular coffee that she used like instant. That's why the look on Vint's face when he drank it was priceless! Then he says, "Now, THAT'S coffee!" A Russian woman was staying with the Harper's and when she was in the kitchen with Bubba, he was teaching her how to make bologna and cheese whiz sandwiches with mustard. Yeah, now that's gross. I can see bologna and Cheese Whiz(maybe), but mustard? Yuck! *ROGER* 02-25-2013, 04:39 PM And remember her "international"stew? I don't remember her international stew, but I'm sure it was nasty! Sterling Holobyte 02-25-2013, 04:40 PM And remember her "international"stew? What did Mama call it?
