Here are my favorite double albums:
1)The Jimi Hendrix Experience: "Electric Ladyland"
2)Pink Floyd: "Ummagumma"
3)The Beatles: "The Beatles" (a/ka/ "the White Album")
4)Pink Floyd: "The Wall"
5)The Smashing Pumpkins: "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness"*
6)Led Zeppelin: "Physical Graffiti"
7)Led Zeppelin: "BBC Sessions"

*: In May 1997, I read a comment in Music magazine about "MCIS." The person who made the comment said that this album is the "'Physical Graffiti' of the 1990s.
My favorites are Bob Dylan's "Blonde On Blonde" and Bruce Springsteen's "The River".

Although Pink Floyd is my favorite rock band along side of Led Zeppeilin, I would have to put my 5 favorite Doubles in this order.

I do like "Electric Ladyland" by Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles "White Album", but also "Tommy" by The Who, Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow-Brick Road", and Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life".
