View Full Version : Diff'rent Strokes vs. Maude icecream 01-16-2013, 03:40 PM Different Strokes clj2 01-16-2013, 03:41 PM Maude, zero hesitation. Ronny G 01-16-2013, 05:34 PM It depends on my age. As an adult, I like Maude more. I've watched it every day in reruns on antenna TV. Didn't watch it as a kid because it dealt with more adult humor and issues. I loved Diff'rent Strokes when I was younger. Watched it every week during its original run. Got the DVD as a an adult but didn't like it as much. Its more a kids show I feel. PrettyinPink55 01-19-2013, 12:18 AM Diff'rent Strokes dakert 01-19-2013, 05:36 PM Maude TVFactFan 01-19-2013, 07:30 PM Different Strokes I think anyone would answer different strokes since he was the Main character TVFactFan 01-19-2013, 07:31 PM It depends on my age. I watch DS now for Mr. Drummond now that I;m a grown man. MRPITT 01-19-2013, 10:46 PM I watch them both alot when I was younger I watched Diff'rent Strokes more but I think Maude is probably a better show. TVFactFan 01-19-2013, 10:52 PM I refuse to compare Maude to Different Strokes because one was a FAMILY SHOW and the other one wasn't. That would be like comparing the Cosby Show to Three's Company Buffyboy323 01-19-2013, 11:12 PM I refuse to compare Maude to Different Strokes because one was a FAMILY SHOW and the other one wasn't. That would be like comparing the Cosby Show to Three's Company  I understand your reasoning. But even though these are completely different shows, I can still choose which series I PREFER. I believe Maude was the BETTER show, but Diff'rent Strokes is my personal favorite of the show. TVFactFan 01-20-2013, 12:10 AM  I understand your reasoning. Yeah I would watch DS over maude also but can only compare maude to shows like All in the Family jeffersons OH Nuts! 01-20-2013, 12:15 AM Maudie all the way, although Conrad Bain played a nicer man in Diffrn't Strokes. Ronny G 01-20-2013, 09:36 PM Maudie all the way, although Conrad Bain played a nicer man in Diffrn't Strokes. I know what you mean. He played such a calm, father figure on Diff'rent Strokes, so it was a shock for me at first to watch him on Maude acting horny with Rue McClanahan or getting in heated discussions about politics with Bea Arthur but I guess that's what actors do. He wasn't that calm on DS Ronny G 01-21-2013, 09:22 AM He wasn't that calm on DS How else would you describe his character on DS? TVFactFan 01-21-2013, 05:30 PM As one who thought Gary Coleman was just plain irritating, Maude was the obvious choice. Only annoying in the 1st 9 episodes of season 1 and then the character was changed to me. Buffyboy323 01-21-2013, 07:53 PM Only annoying in the 1st 9 episodes of season 1 and then the character was changed to me. EVERY character changes for the better after the first nine episodes of season 1. TVFactFan 01-21-2013, 07:58 PM EVERY character changes for the better after the first nine episodes of season 1. Well not true, Mrs Garrett was the same the entire season of season 1 Buffyboy323 01-21-2013, 08:34 PM Well not true, Mrs Garrett was the same the entire season of season 1 I noticed everyone, the whole show, feels a little different, better, beginning with the second season. And it really hit it's stride by the following year, IMO. It could just be me though, lol. Of course that changes in the later seasons PrettyinPink55 01-22-2013, 01:12 AM I just didn't like how they have Willis and Arnold looking so dirty in the first half of season 1. Of course that changes in the later seasons Looking dirty? TVFactFan 01-22-2013, 01:17 AM Looking dirty? They were dressed like they were found in a alley in those first 6 eps. BigManMike 01-22-2013, 12:35 PM For me, I would chose Diff'rent Strokes. But I like Maude a lot as well. MRPITT 01-23-2013, 01:04 AM As one who thought Gary Coleman was just plain irritating. Blasphemy! Lol zypherix 01-23-2013, 06:45 AM I just dont like young kids in tv shows. Especially ones commonly thought to be "cute". Tubehead 01-25-2013, 01:08 AM qustiona about anttted tv? i been watching show then when it maude comes on its not muade but chanel 3 news is any one else having a problem with it? i don't unstander it? all the other shows air just madue it come up with channel 3 news Fallon97 08-07-2013, 11:36 PM No contest........Different Strokes. :D Rookielove 08-08-2013, 01:57 PM I could never get into Maude. But I loved Different Strokes. installLSC 08-08-2013, 11:46 PM Oh easily Maude. The kids on DS actually did a good job acting, but how on earth could they compete with the likes of Bea Arthur? Plus I thought the "serious" episodes of DS seemed awkward. "Maude" got serious pretty often, but it handled the issues better and knew how to correctly throw in comic relief. |
