In my book, Petticoat Junction was NOT a spinoff of Beverly Hillbillies. There was absolutely no connection between the two series until after Bea Benederet's death and we had a visit from Granny who stated Kate and Pearl Bodine were distant cousins.

Laverne doesn't have anything to do with this route. Love American, Style begat Happy Days, then Joanie Loves Chachi came from Happy Days. So Joanie is still the Love, American Style grandchild while Laverne is the sister to Joanie Love Chachi.

Sam Drucker originated first on PJ...his crossover appearances on BH was not until several seasons later. PJ is not a spinoff of BH...they were later established after the fact as "sister shows" but not for a few seasons.
