I wanna know if the bathroom as appeared in the show.
And if the answer is yes, can someone tell me in wich episodes ???

The bathroom in the first apartment was shown in "The Audition"; the bathroom in the second apartment was shown in "Bonus Bucks." Neither bathroom had a toilet. :)

Benno123 09-03-2012, 08:11 PM Don't forget the bathroom scene "outtake" with Jack Benny from the 1952 CBS special "Stars in the Eye."

Humans didn't need to answer a call of nature, in those days!
McGillicuddy 10-27-2012, 07:28 PM The Brady Bunch is well known for not having a toilet. And that was as late as the early '70's. I think the first sit-com to have one was All In The Family, because we could hear it flush, right before Archie came running down the stairs!
Coffeecup 11-14-2012, 10:46 PM I always got a kick out hearing the toilet on All In the Family.

And it seems like Archie is the only one who used it. :)
Coffeecup 11-14-2012, 11:58 PM And it seems like Archie is the only one who used it. :) I'm sure hearing that toilet was a shock to many viewers for we never heard one before. I sometimes cringe at the sights and language on on Two and a Half men.

And a stork must have delivered Little Ricky. :)

I don't get the appeal of Two and a Half Men. I don't even think it's funny. Crude does not equal funny to me. That said, I guess the toilet flush on AITF was crude, too, but it makes me laugh. :)
loaferman 11-15-2012, 10:02 AM I really have to say that the writer's of comedy back then had a much tougher job and still managed to be funny. They could not show a toilet, or hear a flush until the 70's, married couple slept in separate beds, there was no sex mentioned, and as someone said babies must have appeared by magic. I enjoy shows like Two and a Half Men but it is so much easier now to take the cheap way out that writer's back in Lucy's day never had.

You know, I never thought about how big of a challenge that must've been for them to work around. Things we just take for granted...
Good point!!!
McGillicuddy 11-17-2012, 09:50 AM From what I understand, women could not even show that they were pregnant, but Lucille Ball ignored that restriction, when she was expecting Desi Jr. (...and Little Ricky).
Coffeecup 11-17-2012, 08:20 PM Several years ago I was watching E channels episode on Bewitched and the second Mrs Tate, (can't think the actresses name, she was on Peyton Place too) and she said our characters did a lot of drinking and smoking, which today shows don't seem to do. We didn't mentioned sex but today they do.
Benno123 11-19-2012, 09:06 PM If you have never seen the CBS "Stars in the Eye" special from 1952 with the "outtakes" featuring the Ricardos bathroom, here is a link. Desi comes on about 17:20 into the show.
