View Full Version : Why Is 'Community' BURIED on A Friday Night??? Airing on Friday is better than cancellation. Adamantium 05-13-2012, 11:34 PM Community fans should be grateful it was renewed. Airing on Friday is better than cancellation. We ARE grateful. Doesn't mean we can't ask questions. Brian Damage 05-13-2012, 11:48 PM We ARE grateful. Doesn't mean we can't ask questions. NBC president said that 'Community' fans will follow the show anywhere. In my opinion, Fridays are just as bad as Saturdays. Mr. Television 05-13-2012, 11:58 PM It doesn't really make sense and I don't understand pairing it with Whitney. If you read the posts from a lot of Community fans on the internet, they hate that show. Brian Damage 05-14-2012, 12:02 AM It doesn't really make sense and I don't understand pairing it with Whitney. If you read the posts from a lot of Community fans on the internet, they hate that show. Yeah, Community and Whitney aren't exactly the same show.lol EmoJoe 05-14-2012, 02:41 AM NBC president said that 'Community' fans will follow the show anywhere. In my opinion, Fridays are just as bad as Saturdays. They aren't though. Fridays have sort of become the home of shows that are low-rated but have large fan support. See: Fringe on FOX, Friday Night Lights & Chuck on NBC, even Nikita & Supernatural on the CW...plus, NBC had success with Grimm on Fridays this year, and Community/Grimm are pretty compatible. The move makes some sense and if Community can keep above a 1.0, that'll be pretty good for NBC on Friday nights. Will it? Well, we'll see I guess. The most bizarre move is definitely the Whitney/Community pairing. Whitney had a similarly small but consistent audience...but it's a COMPLETELY different audience. robyrob 05-14-2012, 08:11 AM i find it strange that Joel McHale's other show - The Soup was just moved from Friday Nights to Wednesday nights most Community fans DVR the show anyways, so it doesn't matter when it airs. Brian Damage 05-14-2012, 09:46 AM I guess I see everyone's points, I just think that if you wanted the show to really succeed, you wouldn't pair it with a completely different type of sitcom, reduce the episode order AND put it on Fridays. It all seems odd to me. |
