View Full Version : Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron (CCOKC) AKA 04-13-2012, 02:08 PM Video available at Funny or Die (http://FunnyOrDie.com/m/6qpz). Vahan 04-13-2012, 02:21 PM Awesome to see Brice Beckham (of Mr. Belvedere) in there. He looks great for his age I think. ETA: YT vid got taken down, so here's the new link http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/b6ddedd57e/ccokc-child-celebrities-opposing-kirk-cameron?playlist=featured_videos cleverfun3000 04-13-2012, 07:07 PM Are we STILL discussing homosexuality? It was decided long ago by the masses that there is a big difference between hating the act it self (something I couldn't even be allowed to describe here; it's so twisted), and NOT hating the homosexual. Hate is wrong. No one on this planet should be HATED because they are same sex oriented. Period. Most people's problem is with the ACT itself, most consider it to be quite disgusting and the ONLY reason people take a stand on it one way or the other is that more and more are coming out of the closet on a HOURLY basis. To which I say, I LOVE YOU, MAN. Now could you not expect me to either shake your hand or hug you or even touch you in any way shape or form and PLEASE not be offended because of that. You want others to tolerate you and your personal choice, therefore you must tolerate other's people's choice to totally and fully disagree with what it is that you are doing, without making it a PERSONAL CONFRONTATION. Vahan 04-13-2012, 07:21 PM The problem with Kirk Cameron isn't so much his opinion, it's that he shoves his Christian beliefs down other peoples' throats. He also got people fired from the show, who he found offensive as well as Producers who gave him his start. And if I'm not mistaken, I think he even went so far out of his way to have certain episodes of Growing Pains rewritten, because they didn't fit with his Christian beliefs. That's exactly the kind of stuff the ex-child stars in that video are talking about. Furienna 04-13-2012, 07:26 PM Since I'm with Kirk on this, I watched the video on mute. But I only recognized Christine Lakin, since I've never watched the other shows. Did they even say who the black guy was? retrofan05 04-13-2012, 09:16 PM Are we STILL discussing homosexuality? I don't understand why everyone that is opposed to homosexuality is so focused on the "act." When you think of homosexuality, why is the "act" the first thing that comes to mind? I'm gay and when I think of a straight person, my first thought is not how disgusting their "act" is. Heterosexual sex is something I would never engage in, but I'm certainly not disgusted by it. It comes naturally to them, just as gay sex is natural to us. The fact that more and more gay people are coming out of the closet, again, has nothing to do with the sex. It's not like they're coming out and saying, "Hey everyone, guess what? I take it up the ***!" Gays are fighting for respect, tolerance, and equality and quite frankly, none of that has to do with sex. We are human beings and there is more to us than how we have sex. In regards to contact, how could a gay person not be offended if you won't even shake their hand? What are you afraid of? Do you think we don't clean up after sex? Do you think you'll catch our "disease?" What if someone refused to have any kind of contact with you simply because you were straight? Can you honestly tell me that wouldn't offend you? I'm sorry, but that is just ridiculous. AKA 04-13-2012, 09:27 PM I'm sorry, but that is just ridiculous. Please don't be sorry for speaking the truth. megamanj2004 04-14-2012, 12:13 AM Did they even say who the black guy was? If you're talking about the beginning of this video, that would be Kenn Michael, aka Kenny Blank from WB's The Parent 'Hood. I also recognize: Christine Lakin - Step by Step, who IMO looks really hot here! Brice Beckham - When I last saw his FB and MySpace pages, I thought he was still wearing glasses for a little while. And it seems like he's kept his sharp sense of humor intact all these years considering what he just said about Kirk in this video. Josie Davis, who played Sarah Powell from the syndie years of Charles in Charge. Jeremy Licht of Valerie/Valerie's Family/The Hogan Family whose wife was a contestant on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. megamanj2004 04-14-2012, 12:21 AM The problem with Kirk Cameron isn't so much his opinion, it's that he shoves his Christian beliefs down other peoples' throats. That's exactly the kind of stuff the ex-child stars in that video are talking about. Particularly true with Julie McCollugh, whom Kirk gotten fired b/c of his dislike of her past with posing for Playboy. Even to this day she still hates his guts and I wouldn't blame her one damn bit. And no question about him forcing script re-writes b/c of his behavior. He gotten producers Gunztelman, Sullivan and Marshall fired when he phoned in to the ABC brass about them being pornographers in his eyes, which is what led to Dan Wilcox replacing the trio for the 7th and (very awful, IMO) final season. And sadly, one of them was actually busted for child pornography charges recently. Plus, at least three of his former GP co-stars also criticized his recent behavior not too long ago. Bill Kirchenbauer, Tracy Gold and Alan Thicke all criticized his recent behavior. Recognized all those and Keith Coogan (Grandson of Jackie Coogan) On tv, he might be best known as Jeffrey Burton from The Waltons. At the time, he was credited as Keith Mitchell. megamanj2004 04-14-2012, 12:34 AM Recognized all those and Keith Coogan (Grandson of Jackie Coogan) On tv, he might be best known as Jeffrey Burton from The Waltons. At the time, he was credited as Keith Mitchell. Thanks for pointing him out to me. I couldn't put a finger on where I knew him from for awhile. I've never seen "Growing pains" (it maybe didn't even make it to Sweden), and since I'm not familiar with the show, I'm not going to comment about what happened there (but if one of those producers actually got busted with child pornography, even if that was years later, Kirk might have been on to something). But I agree with what Kirk Cameron has said recently. By the way, I also agree with the poster, who said that Christine Lakin was hot. That's exactly the kind of stuff the ex-child stars in that video are talking about. I think that when he said homosexuality is 'destructive' that pretty much turned me off to whatever else he was going to say about the subject. He makes it sound like if you're gay or lesbian you will end up regretting it or going to hell, and that's a horrible way to make people feel. Just sayin'. I had heard about him getting people fired but I hadn't heard about him getting certain episodes rewritten. From what I remember, Growing Pains was one of the first shows I ever watched to have 'swear' words (like "damn' or 'hell') written directly into the script. I remember thinking that this must be some sort of new trend on television because prior to that I'd only heard words like that in movies that were edited for television and so forth. I'm surprised he allowed words like that to be said! I don't understand why everyone that is opposed homosexuality is so focused on the "act." I'm sorry, but that is just ridiculous. That was very well stated! :) I'm straight but I admire you for speaking up for yourself and for others. megamanj2004 04-14-2012, 02:47 PM I don't understand why everyone that is opposed homosexuality is so focused on the "act." You talk like how people used to be before society became educated about how exactly HIV is spread. Are you afraid of "catching something" if you were to shake a homosexual's hand? You speak of sexual behavior that's "twisted", there are many things that straight people do in the bedroom that's also regarded as "out of the norm" by most of society. Like eating each others sh*t for example. Would you be "cool" being around people who engage in any form of sexual behavior that you find "twisted"; or is it just gays? It really shouldn't matter what consenting adults decide to do with each other, as long as no laws are broken and no one's rights are being violated. McGillicuddy 04-15-2012, 01:13 PM So what happens if one of Kirk's 6 children come's to their father at some future time and announces he/she's gay? Vahan 04-15-2012, 01:24 PM On Piers Morgan, Kirk said that he would have a heart-to-heart with them, and that's there's all sorts of issues they need to wrestle through in life, and just because they feel one doesn't me they should act on anything that they feel. Personally, I think Kirk should just learn how to accept that fact, as difficult as it may be for him. I am straight, BTW, and I am neither left, nor right. retrofan05 04-15-2012, 04:29 PM So what happens if one of Kirk's 6 children come's to their father at some future time and announces he/she's gay? I pray that none of Kirk's children are gay, because with a father like him, they will have a very difficult struggle ahead of them. retrofan05 04-15-2012, 04:34 PM On Piers Morgan, Kirk said that he would have a heart-to-heart with them, and that's there's all sorts of issues they need to wrestle through in life, and just because they feel one doesn't me they should act on anything that they feel. What Kirk clearly doesn't understand is that same-sex feelings are natural and if one of his children is gay, they should not be made to feel wrong or ashamed for having those feelings and wanting to act on them. Telling a gay person they shouldn't act on their feelings is no different than telling a straight person they shouldn't act on their's. Telling a gay person they shouldn't act on their feelings is no different than telling a straight person they shouldn't act on their's. I totally disagree with this. Humankind is divided into men and women, not men/men or women/women, for a reason. retrofan05 04-15-2012, 05:33 PM I totally disagree with this. Humankind is divided into men and women, not men/men or women/women, for a reason. In society we have variation. Some people are black, some are white; some are women, some are men; some are heterosexual and some are homosexual. Yes, heterosexuality is needed for reproduction, but that doesn't mean that everyone is, has to be, or was meant to be heterosexual. Homosexuality has been found in over 1500 species of animals and countless scientific studies have been conducted that favor homosexuality being inborn in humans. To deny the fact that it is natural, is to deny science. |
