There will be two showings at 3 AM on Spike, Tuesday, April 10th and Tuesday April 17th. That's it.

Tuesday, April 10th
An allegedly cursed chair; a briefcase bomber; a home-contracting scheme. Also: a woman vanishes after telling her family about a trip she planned to take with her boyfriend.

Tuesday, April 17th
Microscopic evidence of life on Mars; the Wickenburg Massacre. Also: an aneurysm leaves a woman with memory loss and makes her prone to episodes of disappearing.

Seriously, how are old cases supposed to be solved if there's less airing of the show? Robert Stack's probably rolling in his grave at the misuse/disuse of Unsolved Mysteries.

Gee, thank God the "Chair of Death" is still getting airtime. I'm sure the family members of all its victims are awaiting closure  .

It's very surprising to me they went to this great expense 4 years ago to reproduce Unsolved Mysteries when there was nothing that needed to be reproduced.

I think there isn't an audience anymore for a regular slot of this show on television, but there's definitely an audience for the old version show on the internet. Why don't they just re-release old episodes on Netflix? Would of been much more cost effective they doing what they did.

With Lifetime committed to America's Most Wanted, I am not surprised by its increasing omission of UM. And I don't think it's a coincidence. Since there has been a history of competition between AMW and UM (much like competition between, for example, Coke and Pepsi), I speculate that the network doesn't want to carry both shows at the same time, and understandably so.

I really liked it when they would air some UM eppies as a lead in to the new AMW. Now they just lead into AMW with re-runs of recent AMW episodes. I guess it's cool if you're a AMW fan, but kind of a bummer if you like both and are really a UM fan. :(

I really hope UM isn't forever dead, its too good of a show to let die now. I know the chances are a long shot but I think if they find a good host that has a spooky voice and a background in true crime (Bill Kurtis), revert back to old theme/spookiness/music, reuse some old unsolved cases as well as produce new segments the show could be very popular on a cable TV station such as Lifetime, Chiller or something of that nature.

Like everyone on the board I love "UM". But Spike really and I mean *really* killed the show! Dennis Farina is a fine actor and even used to be a Det. But on the show he is just not engaging. (Not his fault. Look at what he has to work with) the segments are butchered and the music and editing is truly abysmall. Perhaps they should just let sleeping Dogs lie.

I think it's so foolish some channel can't just re-air the Stack episodes. But due to red tape and legal issues (I'm guessing) that won't happen. What a shame.

OMG! OMG!! I couldn't sleep last night was channel surfing and came across an episode of UM on Spike! Yes, it was at 3:00 a.m., and yes, it was a "Farina episode", but still..... After months and months of a UM droubt on TV, finding this little crumb was like a tall, cool, glass of water. Okay, okay, I'll stop overreacting now, LOL.

As nice as that unexpected gem was however, it sure did make me long for the good old days of Robert Stack. I think I held my own little funeral service at home when he passed away. *sigh*

While the new UM with Farina had its faults at least it didn't go the AMW route and do new overlong reenactments with horrendously bad acting. I will give it props for that.

And ernmerica, you are a jerk. Enough said.

I was probably hard on Farina, I saw him on Law & Order he was very good. Just miss Robert and think the new show production sucked. It's not "Spike" though , Cosgrove and Muerer are the producers. I guess they decided more money was more important than solving cases. I also think there is a small audience for this show, unless it is screaming at people like Nancy Grace people don't care or have the attention span . AMW doesn't get good ratings.

Well the new version of the show was just so bad.

First of all, there were no new cases, to which I have to ask, why even bother making a new show if you aren't going to have new cases? Updating old ones is fine, but if you are just going to replay old ones, then why change the entire format of the show? Why not just replay the old Robert Stack episodes and present them the way we remember them?

Second, the show lacked the atmosphere of how it was before, and that was its downfall. With Stack's narration, the creepy music, and the spooky settings, watching this show every week felt like watching a horror movie and was nightmare fuel no matter what the stories were. This new version with Farina just felt like poor man's America's Most Wanted.

I think the shows "Vanished" and "Disappeared" are doing relatively well. These shows aren't so much unlike UM, so if Cosgrove and Muerer could get their crap together and actually produce UM the way it show be and find a good host I think the show could do alright.
