Why does she call her Mom & Dad...Phyllis and Lars? Was there a reason why she called them by their real 1st names?

I believe that Phyllis insisted upon this, thinking it was making her a "progressive mother". Just another of Phyllis' vain and wrongheaded motherly decisions! :lol:

Oh okay, when I heard Bess refer to her parents as Lars and Phyllis, I got so confused. LOL

Yeah, basically, Phyllis was trying (unsuccessfully) to be "hip" b/c that's what she prob. read in some parenting book!
