Ronny G 03-03-2012, 04:36 PM I'm thinking of that episode of the Brady Bunch where Carol is missing one of her earrings. Peter plays detective and interviews everybody and they retrace their steps through flashback.
Don't read any further if you haven't seen the episode because it contains spoilers: Marcia borrowed it, Cindy took it,Cindy hid it in a towel, Alice grabbed the towels, did the laundry, found earring inside washing machine but it was ruined.
rezny717 03-03-2012, 07:54 PM Another couple of comedy-mysteries ,were--first:the "The Doris Day Show" episode from season 3 when she was a widow, called "Dinner for One", a good episode that kept audiences guessing,as did -second,the third season "Get Smart" episode called "The Mysterious Dr.T."Both were good episodes that kept viewers guessing.
BigManMike 03-03-2012, 09:20 PM The Three's Company episode the Case of the Missing Blonde where Cindy has gone to see her father and Jack and Janet can't find her and think she's missing
Lorimar Television 03-04-2012, 02:47 AM Two episodes of Reba are like this. (SPOILER ALERT)
A Moment in Time: When the family, except Kyra, each makes a private tape to show Elizabeth when she's older. Reba notices the tape has been moved and suspects someone watched the tape. Everybody starts arguing and pointing the blame at someone. Since nobody confesses they watch the tape. They all find something someone said offensive and get into a big argument, only to find that Kyra took it to tape a message that makes everyone realize they shouldn't be fighting.
Who Killed Brock?: Reba was taking care of Barbra Jean's dog and when it goes missing Barbra Jean panics and goes to see a psychic who tells her someone in the family killed her dog. She then accuses people of killing the dog, so they each tell a story through flashbacks about where they last saw the dog. Reba set her outside because the dog kept going on the kitchen counter while she was cooking. Brock brought a pillowcase with his cologne over for the dog to sniff so she gets used to his scent, only to get bitten in the ear. The dog scares Van into climbing up a tree house. Cheyenne finds her in the garage eating her cookies. In the end Jake finds her still alive.
rezny717 03-11-2012, 08:41 PM Another one is the not-very good, mediocre episode of"The Dick Van Dyke Show"from the 1965-1966 season called "Who Stole My Watch".
William Hogan Jr 03-12-2012, 10:55 AM :) How about The Peanuts special "It's a Mystery, Charlie Brown" 1974. Woodstock's nest is missing and Snoopy becomes a detective, and enterigates the entire Peanuts gang! Watch Snoopy blowing soap bubbles out of his pipe!
rezny717 03-19-2012, 09:44 PM A couple more, are "The Addams Family" episode from early 1965 titled "Thing is Missing",and the color episode of "F Troop"from 1966 titled "The Great Troop Robbery".

Jeff schedules a fake class taught by Professor Professorson to get more credits, and when the dean finds out, someone named Professor Professorson comes to his defense...but the class *was* fake, so the episode sees Annie and Jeff trying to figure out who Professor Professorson is.

Our Miss Brooks in 1954 did an episode called "Postage Due" in which Connie Brooks did some searching for a missing mailman. The show was a direct parody of the popular Dragnet, with Connie doing monotone voice-overs ala Joe Friday. This probably inspired the second-season Hazel episode, "The Case of the Missing Mailman". In this show, Hazel, George and Dorothy follow a trail that leads them to burlesque houses and strippers in search of the missing Barney Hatfield.
UMFaninMD 03-20-2012, 07:30 PM Mr. Belvedere had an episode where Belvedere and George dress up in drag to find out who is mugging women. George's son Kevin also dressed up in drag but George didn't like it because he thought Kevin looked good as a woman and might get picked up. One of my favorite episodes.
dougiezerts 03-21-2012, 06:50 PM McMillan and Wife combined mystery with comedy pretty succesfully.
