View Full Version : How many fans think this part should be CUT from syndication on cable?
TVFactFan 02-24-2012, 09:44 PM The last episode when the Trio walks out the door and it shuts and the Lights goes out, I think that should be the ending and then the closing credits should be next because after that the scene is a set up for the spinoff which most of the time you don't get to see.
Seeing the trio walk out the door is a ending to Three's Company. Everything else after that is just pointless if you can't watch Three's a Crowd
Anyone agree?
Pavan 02-25-2012, 12:48 AM But you CAN watch Three's a Crowd next on Antenna TV. So this is a pointless thread.

Everyone doesn't have Antenna TV and even if they did the scene is not related to Three's Company.
Mr. Television 02-25-2012, 01:09 AM Yea I always thought it should have been cut out. There were enough scenes that were cut out of the syndication prints to fill in the missing time. Until TAC started airing on Antenna TV, I hadn't seen the show since ABC aired daytime reruns of it in 1985-86. Maybe on the stations that actually aired TAC they could have kept it in but most of the country never got TAC or the Ropers in syndication.

Exactly, why show the TAC set up scene in syndication on cable to a new fan of the show when they may not have Antenna TV. One thing TV land did last night was not show the last part when Three's Company turns into Three's a Crowd

I bet they didn't add any additional scenes though. The show probably ran for about 15 minutes. lol

The show only airs on TV Land and Antenna TV. So it makes sense for Antenna TV to air that scene. TV Land only airs the series in late nights/early mornings anyway.
reilly100 02-25-2012, 02:06 PM I agree.

Keep in mind that additional scene with Jack and Vicky was only created because the fans were being set up for what was to follow the next week. So that's why I never understood why it was shown with the last episode
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 02-27-2012, 08:39 PM That entire part should have been it's own thing in the first place. I hate how Three's Company didn't get a good send off because they were so focused on Three's A Crowd. That will always bother me.

Yeah like end Three's Company and just start Three's a crowd the following week

It was even worse when it originally aired. First they announced that TC was ending and the final was scheduled for May. At the last minute, they decided to hold off airing the final until September ....a week before TAC premiered. :ohno:

Wow, so fans had to wait until the fall to see the finale since it was connected to Three's a Crowd

Yea. We all had to wait until the fall. They aired the first part where Jack met Vicky in the spring but the final one hour episode was held until September. Talk about disrespecting the fans...:ohno:

Oh so the last episode that was seen before the summer of 84 was when Janet told Jack.."you're in love"

Yea that's the one. I didn't even care much for that episode. Larry and Furley weren't even in it. I'd have to check my TV Guides but I think that was the only new episode during the last 2 months. I know it seemed like an eternity since the last one aired.

Yeah I saw the 8th season ended in March so I guess repeats were shown the next two months-lol

I just looked it up. The episode where Phillip was introduced aired on March 13 and the next episode where Vicky was introduced aired on May 15. They had repeats airing for 2 months practically. lol

They probably waited until September because they wanted TC fans to follow Jack to TAC-lol

I think the final episode did land in the top 10 in the ratings and the following week TAC premiered in the 20's. The only other episode that did that well was the one that Larry guest starred in. lol

Probably because it was mid-season. It should have been episode 3 or 4

The fact that the trio leaving the apartment wasn't the last scene of Three's Company, but rather the final scenes were the set up for Three's A Crowd was bad because the producers trivialized an ending to a show loved by many people. It seemed like the producers were rushing to end Three's Company and were hoping the audience would quickly forget about the trio and warm up to Three's A Crowd instead. It was an insult to the intelligence and feelings of the audience. It would have been better for them to use the last scenes with Mr. Bradford buying the building from Angelino as the first scenes of the Three's A Crowd spinoff.
Mace Dolex 10-22-2014, 12:58 AM And you also didn't want the series to end on a sad note if the very last scene was of the trio turning off the lights and closing up.
Dude111 10-22-2014, 10:19 PM Seeing the trio walk out the door is a ending to Three's Company.Yes I remember seeing the last episode...... Very sad....
The last I saw of it was Jack in bed with some girl in his new appt..........
