Whether it be an actor in the re-creations or the actual individuals themselves, have you ever spoken to any of them? I know a few people featured on the show who have Facebook accounts but I could never bring myself to talk to them because they seem to be doing well in life, that I don't want to bother them.

I've posted it before on another thread, but I've spoken to David Shealy on several occasions. Not the kind of case that I particularly liked seeing on Unsolved Mysteries, but yes, I've met him many times. He's the "crypto-zoologist" of the Florida Everglades that was featured on the Everglades Bigfoot segment (aka Skunk-Ape). Honestly, he's a pretty normal guy, compared to the local residents. I'm at the point, where I don't even care if the legend is true... It's a good story to tell the tourists either way. :D

His website is www.skunkape.info if you want more info. I try to avoid Facebook as much as possible, but I assume he has a page there as well.

Thanks :) It was pretty cool, I met them when I was living in Georgia.

I've never talked to anyone in person but back in 07, I uploaded around 60 cases to the forbidden site and eventually heard from Joyce McLain's sister Wendy, Kathy Hobbs sister, the cousin of Joe Weldon Smith's step-daughters Christy and Wendy, a high school friend of Norman Ladner and Jane Boroski.

I've also been emailing on and off with Cindy James' sister Melanie for 3 years.

A classmate of mine in junior high school appeared as an actor in one of the Lost Love segments.

May I ask what these ladies had to say to you?

I have a guess at which channel is yours, if those videos are still up. ;)

I went to High School with a guy who was also an actor that appeared in one or two episodes.

I've written a couple of Unsolved Mysteries-related columns at another website and gotten E-mails from two people involved in the cases.

The first one was from the actor who played John Anglin in the Alcatraz episode. He shared some interesting anecdotes about the shoot, including how he became the victim of a unsolved-mystery-within-an-unsolved-mystery when the lady from the casting agency skipped town and disappeared before he got paid for his work!

The second one was from the co-worker in the Mary Morris murders case, who used to frequent these boards several years ago and caused a lot of controversy. I learned a LOT of interesting info from him, but unfortunately, I can't talk about it here, due to the restrictions about us discussing the case on this board.

I had a channel dedicated to nothing but Unsolved Mysteries segments for several months. But my account was deleted because of copyright violation. Cosgrove/Meurer Productions just gets really angry if you upload anything Unsolved Mysteries related. Another poster copied all my vids and put them up on their own account so more power to him/her.

Joyce McLain's sister Wendy thanked me for uploading the segment but mentioned she was surprised at how ignorant some of the posters comments were. I thought that was strange because I always made sure to delete any hateful comments.

The cousin of Kristi and Wendy Cox saw the update of Joe Smith on my channel and asked me if I could upload the full segment because he hadn't seen it many years.

Kathy Hobbs sister posted a short comment that police were investigating a suspect but left it at that. I couldn't get anything more out of her.

Jane Boroski posted on this board a couple years ago and I sent her a private message thanking her for talking with us and I told her that I prayed for her over the years and hoped she was living as normal a life as possible. She wrote me back and thanked me for the note. She really is a very sweet lady.

In regards to Cindy James' sister Melanie, someone posted the link to her blog on here a couple years ago so I was able to find her email address through that site. I wrote her and invited her to come here and post her thoughts which she did. We emailed back and forth about 5 times a year mostly in regards to her book which I am still waiting for. I also asked her about the rumor of Roy Makepeace going missing and she said that wasn't true. She also told me about her parents health problems and the eventual death of her father. She sent me a friend invite on facebook too.

I sent a private message to Nyleen Kay Marshall's brother who made one post in the "FINDING KAY" thread but I never got a response.

We can't discuss the two Mary murders here anymore? I think the one co-worker in question spoke to me on one of my threads about the case once, but I forget what thread it was.

I'm not sure what the official policy is now, but I know that several years ago, the co-worker and Mary Morris' family posted here and had such heated discussions that the Houston PD stepped in and ordered that all discussion of the case be ceased because it was hampering their investigation.

If you do a search, you'll find some old locked threads about the case from years ago that make for pretty interesting reading.

Actually Harris County PD. You can look deep and buried. Not many know of any relevance and I claim none.

No discussion allowed unless approved by administrators of this forum. That is not only fair but is decided. I just thought I might try as it has being opened up a bit more as years pass. Maybe it can help.

One of the kids from the lucky rock segment is on the forbidden video site somewhere. He's all grown up, and lives in Japan.

Neither guy was featured on the UM segment, but I met one author and corresponded with the other who kind of picked up where William A. Tunstill (guy on the Brushy Bill Roberts segment who believed him to be Billy the Kid) left off, who wrote a book titled, "Billy the Kid - Killed in New Mexico: Died in Texas".

Currently I forget his name, but I had a long conversation with the journalist who investigated the Circleville Letters. He's a private investigator now. He offered a lot of great insight to the case. I believe he has since posted here as his theories have popped up almost verbatim.

I just went to one of James Van Praagh's shows on Sat night which was pretty interesting. He did a book signing afterwards as well but the line was ridiculous so I didn't wait in it. I did get a chance to shake his hand and say hello.

I haven't met anyone on the show or from the show. But I knew a lady who had contacted Unsolved Mysteries back in 1990 when her daughter disappeared after running away from home. From what I understand nothing came of it, she had been in contact with the people from the show but law enforcement either didn't want to cooperate or wouldn't disclose anything about the case (I honestly don't remember).

She did, but when she did her daughter was well into adulthood. I never got the full story why this girl ran away or if her daughter talks to her. I only found out she had been located by a mutual friend. I remember initially they thought she had been abducted and changed the status to run away after interviewing close friends and family members.

He wasn't featured but I used to know Chipper Chirimbes, who portrayed the bank manager in the Henderson, Nevada bank heist. Brief role. I think he picked up a phone and had to take a call from a nearby establishment, trying to pretend that nothing was wrong.

He's a sports handicapper who had appeared on numerous TV shows of that type, and apparently tried out for the Unsolved Mysteries part on a lark, never expecting to get it. He took quite a bit of ribbing after the episode aired.

Chirimbes works for the Jim Feist service of sports handicappers, along with Larry Ness. I was friends with Ness from the mid '80s and he later introduced me to Chipper. Lately I haven't seen either one of them but I'm not full time in Las Vegas anymore.

Here is Chipper's bio. He's still recognizable as the guy from that segment, now 20+ years older.

Yep. A certain rapist who went skiing for years to avoid prosecution. And the conversation convinced me he is probably a clinical psychopath.

Did you ask him if mommy and daddy are still around to turn a blind eye to every disgusting thing he does? I'm sure they still have the money to bail him out of jams.

I spoke with him on the phone. I'm hesitant to tell the whole story here for personal safety reasons. Suffice to say, he is as smug as he seems and was arrogant enough to mention what kind of car he drove and I think it was the kind that he used in his crimes.

It is my understanding that he is still in CT, but no longer in Darien, although his parents are.

I didn't say much to him because I didn't realize until I had hung up that he was THAT Alex Kelly. My first thought was "Wow, bummer of a name, if I were him I'd go by Alexander or my middle name."

He had further interactions with people I know. But I wasn't there for that.

I wholeheartedly believe he is clinically sociopathic and probably googles himself, and for that reason, I'm not being any more specific.

I messaged Alan Mann, he of the Lake Wales haunting and child bride fame, on Facebook once. I just asked "Is this the Alan who was on UM?" He wrote back, "YES I WAS." And that was it.

My father is the private investigator that the Wheeler family hired in the Sammy Wheeler case. I've met Danny on a few occasions. My father and I have talked in length about the case.

Still looking for someone with a copy of that episode that they could send me.
