Susan Sarandon to Play Cancer Survivor on "The Big C"

Susan Sarandon is joining "The Big C" for the Showtime comedy's upcoming third season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Oscar winner, 65, will play Joy, a cancer survivor who is using her unique experience to inspire others.
"She's another cancer survivor who has used her cancer experience in a unique way trying to inspire other people," creator and executive producer Darlene Hunt tells the magazine. "She makes Cathy question whether she's doing enough with her own cancer experience."
"The Big C" returns on April 8, 2012.
