View Full Version : How long have you been a fan? LucyFan 01-20-2002, 01:07 AM I absolutely  Laverne & Shirley! I first watched the show as a fan on February 16th, 1999. I have been a fan of this show for about three years! Rockapella722 01-21-2002, 12:30 AM Five words: Circle of Success Marathon: 1998. ~~ROCK ON! ...Spinal Tap :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: wayman 01-21-2002, 09:17 PM I've been a fan since the show first aired on ABC. I remember watching the first episode on the night of January 27, 1976. I continued watching throughout the run of the show. I skipped marching band practice so I could see Shirley get married in the fall of 1982 (before the days when VCR's were a common household item). I was even tuned in on the night ABC aired "Laverne and Shirley" for the final time on May 10, 1983. I've been watching the reruns ever since. Hopefully someday soon, the series will be released on DVD and we can see the episodes unedited! Sean Snow 01-21-2002, 09:56 PM Since 1998 when it came to N@N...though I didn't get reallly into it until May 2001. Beruche 01-23-2002, 07:04 PM I can't remember exactly when but ever since a few years ago when it was on N@N. Back then it was actually my favorite show on N@N. LaverneShirley 01-27-2002, 10:18 PM Since July 2, 1998, the very first night it was ever on N@N. ::sighs:: Those were the days. Circle of Success... the nice BPS song.. The cowboys say "Howdy," and you might say "Yo," but with Lenny and Squiggy it's always "Hello!" To the Italians it's "Ciao," and the the Brits "Cheerio," but with Lenny and Squiggy it's always "Hello!" Shalom, what's up, aloha, bon jour, here's what you get if you don't lock your door: "Hello!" "Hello!" "Hello!" 17Mar59 01-28-2002, 09:36 PM Q:Do you mean of the series or of the characters? If you mean of the series then I have been an L&S fan since the pilot aired. However if you mean the characters Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney, well then I have been a fan a bit longer, ever since they first appeared in the Happy Days ep. A Date With Fonzie.:) Shirley 02-23-2002, 05:56 PM I haven't been a fan for too long yet....but I'm hooked! I started watching Laverne and Shirley about three or four weeks ago and I'm a fan for life. My best friend and I relate completely to Laverne and Shirley, it's so funny. (She's Laverne and I'm Shirley) Moondance 02-26-2002, 08:03 PM I've been a fan since 1986! I was a wee tike! I watched it everyday and -ed it soooo much! In kindergarten, I even put that I'd want "C's" on my shirts! :) Hahahaha!!!!! When it came onto N@N I was sooooo happy!!!!!!:) Feenster Girl luvinjuan1980 02-27-2002, 01:02 PM I liked it in the 70's but really got into in the early 80's. My music teacher used to let us watch it in class. It was so cool. 17Mar59 03-24-2002, 11:02 PM I think the popularity of both HD and L&S has a lot to do with the 1950s setting. The 1950s were probably the "coolest" decade in retrospect,at least on tv and in the movies.:) Titania 05-09-2002, 06:55 PM I've been a fan since it came to my local channel (GTW in wilmington and philidelphia) in the early 90s. The first episode I saw was "the feminine mistake". I was sooo happy when it came to N@N even tho I missed the circle of success marathon because my dad was on a business trip and i was staying w/ my cousins in the MIDDLE OF NO WHERE WITH NO CABLE. ::sigh:: I started taping the moment I got home when they were on regular times....So you could say Ive been a fan for 10 years, an addict for the past 4. cara  ChickenLegz 05-11-2002, 08:16 PM Like The Facts of LIfe, i remember watching this show and Kate and Allie and One Day at A time when I was little. I remember Happy DAys as well. So i guess i have been a fna since iwas around 5 so that would be 8 years. I have been a fan of Facts for that long too! -ChickenLegz 80sTrivia 05-23-2002, 01:35 PM Yikes, I'm showing my age here!!! I've been a fan of L&S from its original run!!! I guess I started watching as a young kid in the early 80s and I still love to watch the episodes on TV Land... thank gawd for TV Land. This is certainly one of THE classic comedies of all time! :) britt britt 05-23-2002, 04:05 PM I use to watch it in 1999 that was when i was 10, but i super love it now.i live in canada so we don't have nick@nite but it came to tvland this year.and my mom told me to watch it and i said oh yeah i remember that! then i kept watching it everyday and i love it! now its on 3 times a day!!:) cubsfan1060 06-19-2002, 08:59 PM I love Laverne and Shirley a lot! One thing is that the opening theme credts would have been better if it were filmed in Chicago. In fact, Perfect Strangers was filmed at 1625 West Addison Street. ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 07-23-2002, 06:14 PM Im 18 so I never caught in the 70s obviously. I started watching Happy Days, and since then without even watching, I knew L&S would be a fav.--along with 3's Co. --even when I didnt even KNOW what the show was about!!!! As soon as the Circle of Success came on, I watched. I wish I had taped that marathon--it was so funny!! Ive been a fan since, and always will be! RichFonz 07-23-2002, 06:58 PM I taped my first "Happy Days" episode on May 7, 2001--Laverne & Shirley's 1st appearance--and right there, I knew there was something special about L&S--especially Cindy Williams. The fandemonium marathon came two weeks later, and "Laverne & Shirley" has been with me since. Ironically, the first L&S episode I taped--during the fandemonium--had Richie & Potsie on there. |
