View Full Version : Since this show was set right in Manhattan, was there ever any TVFactFan 12-12-2011, 09:05 PM mention of the world trade center being gone during the remainder of the 2001-02 season or the seasons after that? ryan423 12-12-2011, 09:29 PM Nope, and the show has been largely criticized for it. Brieannas21 12-12-2011, 09:31 PM mention of the world trade center being gone during the remainder of the 2001-02 season or the seasons after that? No, I don't think so. There was a hilarious Airport scene that was deleted from an episode because it was to air right around the time of Sept 11. TVFactFan 12-12-2011, 09:37 PM Nope, and the show has been largely criticized for it. really? I just figured they would mention that it's gone atleast once and never again SherryLH 01-14-2012, 08:35 PM Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't one of the characters wear a FDNY t shirt? Dr. Thong 01-14-2012, 09:39 PM Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't one of the characters wear a FDNY t shirt? Yes, Joey wore one in an episode. And while what happened to the towers was never mentioned or referenced by any of the characters, the eighth season opener had a dedication to the people of New York City after the last scene had faded to black. TVFactFan 05-05-2012, 07:36 PM I can understand it since the show was kind of like Three's Company so mentioning the Towers wouldn't have been a normal thing for a show like Friends Dr. Thong 05-06-2012, 05:29 PM I can understand it since the show was kind of like Three's Company so mentioning the Towers wouldn't have been a normal thing for a show like Friends Precisely. It wouldn't have felt right. It would have been contrived. TVFactFan 05-06-2012, 05:43 PM Precisely. It wouldn't have felt right. It would have been contrived. Now that I think about it, probably would have been too serious to include inside the script SurrealFox 08-14-2012, 08:34 PM I'm glad they didn't. I think for a lot the show is a means of escaping daily stress and for 30 minutes you can zone into their world and step away from everything going on in the world. I think for a lot the show is a means of escaping daily stress and for 30 minutes you can zone into their world and step away from everything going on in the world. I don't think it would have worked for a show like Friends because it was an Three's Company type of show. It was no where near topical |
