View Full Version : The Love of N&D
I was trying to think of the episode where Daphne was talking to Roz about her love life with Niles. Where Roz can't believe Niles is such a great lover. Does anyone remember that episode?
Here's a few shots of N&D's first time in season 8 "Daphne Returns"
I like the first two pics - great shot of them with the view in the background.
in his own little world...

That was Crock Tales. Second to last episode of the series. Thanks for sharing the pics. :)

Thanks a million! That was driving me nuts!
Schmoopie 11-03-2011, 02:27 AM At first that episode where they had that fight (the pictures you posted) shocked me because Niles was being so unreasonable, but I knew he couldn't stay mad at Daphne for too long. LOVED when he walked over to her and they were still 'arguing' about him being too short and her being too tall, and that scene where he puts his hand on her cheek just makes me melt...
Thanks for the pictures, by the way!

But Niles was being unreasonable to show Daphne that he loved her for herself and not the image he built up in his mind for 7 yrs.
andress_jade 11-03-2011, 03:32 PM I actually posted something about this in another thread. I can't believe that Roz would be surprised that Niles was a good lover. Just because a man acts and looks a certain way doesn't mean he isn't good in bed. ;)

Great pictures by the way Pat! :D

^^^ That's what I think too. He felt trapped by the situation, so I hesitate to say he was being unreasonable. I really felt bad for him when he said something like 'why is everybody acting like I've done something wrong, when all I'm guilty of is loving Daphne?' Now I do think he wasn't acting very nice at her welcome home party, when she asked him to leave-- maybe that's the unreasonable part you were talking about, Schmoopie? But I can even see why he acted that way. He was hurt, and he hadn't seen her in so long, and now she's back only to say she and the therapist were blaming him for her weight problem. I was glad he apologized though, because an apology was definitely in order.
And isn't funny how those little gestures and expressions are what stick in our minds? That moment where he puts his hand on her cheek is so small and so brief but so powerful. Love that. :)

Yes, Yes! That's what got me to thinking about it, but I couldn't find your thread!!! thank you.

I wasn't even thinking season 11 with flashbacks. I had it set that Daphne wasn't pregnant at the time and got lost from there. Thanks again.
Love it!
Daphne and Niles and their frequent love making...
Roz's birthday -
Daphne: [her mind in the same place as Niles as he stares at her with that smile of his] Oh, you know, I-I think I left your present in my room. Niles, will you help me with it?
Niles: Oh, of course.
They almost run to the hallway.
Niles: We'll be back very quickie.
Daphne: Quickly!
Niles: Quickly.
They exit.
Martin: You don't think they're gonna...?
Frasier: Oh, I have no idea. Try not to think about it.
They stand around uncomfortably. Then behind them, the skyline
lights up as fireworks explode all over.
Roz: Wow, he really is good.
What a powerful and awesome episode. I have forgotten how important the second to last episode was. :)
Leigh Ann 11-04-2011, 09:17 AM "Crock Tales" is ok, but not my favorite because they messed up some of N/D's stuff, and those horrible wigs. But it's a great sum up of the series. :) And those pics from "Daphne Returns" had me melting!! I want to slap Niles in that episode for his attitude, but it all led to them making out, so it's all good. :D

That's kind of the way I feel about it too. It's okay, and I think the idea of it was great, but they just didn't quite pull it off as good as they could have. Some of the earlier seasons' writers were so much better. I love the little extra details though. I just wish it was better.
I liked how they had more romance between D&N

I guess I was just surprised that he and Daphne were even fighting at all, becuase that was the first "real" fight we'd seen them have. And yes it's definitely the little moments that make me melt. But then again I melt even if they hug, so that's not saying much! ;)

Well that's true... they hug really good though. The other thing that gets me every time is when he kneels down in front of her. *gasp* Talk out melting... I need to be sopped up off the floor when he does that. It's just such a loving and respectful and sincere and romantic thing to do. :biglove: Off the top of my head I can remember twice that he did it, and he was apologizing for something both times, although the second time he didn't really need to be apologizing, and what he did (fly to England and bring her dad back) is what eventually made her want to marry him right now. Here they are, the first and second from "Taking Liberties" and the third from "Moons Over Seattle:"

I like that a lot.

Not to steal your thunder, but do you mind if I post larger pics of the Taking Liberties shots you have???
Schmoopie 11-07-2011, 02:24 AM OMG, thanks for those pictures! *gets up off the floor from melting* Niles is so romantic and sweet!

Absolutely, go right ahead :)

Here, let me see if I can do it...
bingbangbaby 11-09-2011, 04:43 PM That third picture always makes me a little bit sad because Niles was trying so hard and in that moment Daphne wasn't having it. Or his apology. She didn't realize at the time and of course realized later all that he did and all that it meant, but part of me just wants to say "C'mon, Daph... he's on his knees..." :biglove: If it were me and he did that, he could pretty much have whatever it is he wanted.
GREAT point you made! Thanks
Schmoopie 11-10-2011, 12:25 AM Oh man... These pictures are making me melt. I think some serious Frasier watching is in order... ASAP!

I've seen that video and I really like it too. Good song and good clips. There's another one that I like a lot too-- same thing, good song and good clips. Here's that one:

Those are my two favs-- I think they are the best ones on there. Those people are really talented to be able to make the clips go with the songs like that. :)
born2late 11-11-2011, 04:06 PM Yes, they are talented. I'm glad there are so many D/N tributes on youtube. I love watching them, and the full episodes of Frasier. :)

bingbangbaby,
THIS DESERVES ITS OWN THREAT. I like this post. Nicely done!
Schmoopie 11-13-2011, 05:45 AM I melt EVERY time Niles and Daphne hug! I love that Christmas episode where he keeps hugging her over and over, using any excuse to do so. It's so sweet and romantic.
