I will keep you in my prayers as you continue to work through this process. Brian Damage 09-29-2011, 09:35 PM Recently I was involved in a long term, living with each other, relationship. Last Monday we broke up. Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday. I cried the hardest I have ever cried in my entire life. Losing someone, whom you loved and shared your life with is horrible! Anyway, the reason for my advice is, how long did it take you to FINALLY start to feel better, stop crying, and start to enjoy life again. Also, how long did it take you to have the courage to start dating again? Any suggestions will be helpful, thanks:) I am so sorry for your pain Tara. I myself have been there and experienced that type of pain. Everybody is different, but for me it took a few weeks. Having a strong base of friends certainly helps. Nobody can really tell you to get over somebody on such and such a day and time, but I would recommend starting out slow. Start going places just to occupy your mind. As the old saying goes, an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Tara, you are a pretty girl with a wonderful spirit, any guy would be blessed to share a relationship with you. Try not to let one guy keep you down. :) Mr. Television 09-29-2011, 11:55 PM Recently I was involved in a long term, living with each other, relationship. Last Monday we broke up. Anyway, the reason for my advice is, how long did it take you to FINALLY start to feel better, stop crying, and start to enjoy life again. Also, how long did it take you to have the courage to start dating again? Any suggestions will be helpful, thanks:) Oh Tara, I'm so sorry. :( You are a wonderful person and I know that the right guy is out there for you. As far as how long it takes, I think it depends on the person. Some people get over it faster then others. catlover79 09-30-2011, 12:31 AM I really don't have any advice, Tara, because I've never been in a long-term relationship. But just know that you are in my heart and prayers!!!! :bighug: Brad Russ 09-30-2011, 03:04 AM First of all Tara, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I know how much you care about this guy, and I prayed daily that it would work. For me, it took about two years for me to get over Donna, but that's just because she was my first longtime girlfriend, and I tend to get extremely attached to people. As for the dating question, I haven't dated in four years, and have no plans to change that. I have alot of things going on right now, and dating just isn't on my radar at this point. I mentioned it before, I'm happy right now, and the last thing I need is a relationship. Right now I'm 100 percent focused on my relationship with God. I'm so sorry that this didn't work out for you my friend. You are a good person, so I know things will continue to get better for you, and you can count on my continual prayers until the day I die. Much love to you Tara.  MickeyMac 09-30-2011, 06:14 PM When a relationship ends lots of times it aint pretty. I have been through a few bad breakups in my day. You have probably heard this before but it takes times. Tara you did the right thing by crying first and crying alot. Think of the good and bad times, cry so you can get it out of your system (its not good holding all that in). After that all you can do is go on about your daily life the best you can. Another thing surround yourself with your closet friends, talk to them about it. Ask what they thought about the relationship, and ask them to be brutally honest. You may not like what you hear at first, but your friends will only tell you the truth. Also spending time with close friends will help you move on. Also do something that will help put a smile on your face. Hope that helps. catlover79 09-30-2011, 06:15 PM I couldn't agree more. Tara, time to break out your Barney Miller and Hawaii Five-O DVDs. Have a marathon - have fun!!! :bighug: MrCleveland 09-30-2011, 06:26 PM Sorry 'bout that, Tara. I know I got over the one I was with in a few hours, but since I never had a long-term relationship (I doubt 1 year is long) I could use some advice for finding Ms. Right...I've even decided to throw a Singles Party. steevo 09-30-2011, 07:55 PM I am sorry you are going through this, Tara. The only advice I can really give to you right now is to do some of the things that you enjoy doing, and just remember that there is someone out there for you. You will continue to be in my prayers. catlover79 09-30-2011, 09:57 PM Monika, thank you for being such a thoughtful person. I appreciate your prayers:) And I am going to take your advice and have a marathon of both Hawaii Five-O (actually, I am doing that right now) and Barney Miller... See, great minds think alike. ;) Brad Russ 09-30-2011, 10:32 PM Thank You, Brad This is the reason why I consider you, one of my dearest friends. Your heart is one of the most beautiful on this planet. A rare human being you are:) Awww, thanks so much Tara!! :):);):heart::heart::angel::angel::angel: :bighug::bighug::bighug: icecream 10-01-2011, 07:20 PM Tara, I'm sorry for your bad week. Praying for comfort and healing for you. :bighug: born2late 10-01-2011, 08:55 PM Been there, done that. I'm sorry, I know your heart is hurting right now. Breakups are never easy. Try to keep your chin up. If I had stayed in my former relationship, I wouldn't have the great guy I have now. You too will find a person perfect for you. MrCleveland 10-01-2011, 10:08 PM I received an email from him last night; telling me that he still loves me, and that he forgives me, and that he wants for us to be friends. I am still terribly hurt, and deeply sad. I admit, I still love him. But I am not sure I want to be his friend, especially right now:( I think you should have some space...if he hurt you bad...don't reply to his e-mail. And if it's STILL going...tell him you don't hate him...but you can't be in love with him. MrCleveland 10-01-2011, 11:20 PM I was honest with him, 100%. I told him everything; because I truly believed he had the right to know. I do not hate him. And I have forgiven him. All break ups hurt. But I am blessed with a good heart, so I forgave, and with that, I am going to move. And I also wished him well, and nothing but the best for his future....No grudges, no revenge, no childish b.s...life is too short for that! OK... Because at this date...the ***** who broke my brother's heart got married this day in one year. (I doubt he NEVER got over this 'cause they were once engaged). And I still believe that not only the ***** dumped my brother...but he took a dump on him (Not Literally...but metaphorically...she dumped the bad things on him).ohno:ohno:ohno: born2late 10-01-2011, 11:48 PM Thank you for comment. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. I know for one thing. I am not afraid to fall in love again:) You're welcome, and good for you on the positive attitude. :) Brad Russ 10-02-2011, 01:49 AM You are in my daily prayers, as you know, you can count on that. I'm ALWAYS here if you ever need to talk. Much love my friend!  |
