View Full Version : Best Cast Additions
Family Matters-Steve Urkel. Urkel made the show wacky and zany, of course they overdid it but that almost always happens with a breakout character.
Wings-Alex, the sexy blonde pilot (farrah forke) and Casey, Helen's hot red-headed sister. I like what both characters brought to the show, but i'd give the edge to Casey. I thought it wasa neat twist to have a female counter to the Hackett brothers.
Cheers-Frasier, Lilith, and Woody. All great additions, never limed Rebecca compared to Diane though.
Night Court-Christine, Mac and Roz. All main characters but not original, this makes the early seasons weird. I've always wondered why that show took so long to get things 'right' that they had to replace so many characters (i know the first two bailiffs died IRL, but Ellen Foley and that other woman. Also, thought Gilbert Gottfried and that stenographer Lissette (recurring in the final season) were nice touches and some new blood.
Rosslover 08-28-2011, 11:52 PM Curtis Armstrong to Moonlighting. As Herbert Viola junior detective and love interest for Agnes Dipesto. Bobby Cannivale as Will's love interest on Will and Grace. Everyone wanted Will to finally find love. Rex Lee as the irrespresible Lloyd on Entourage. Courteney Cox as Lauren on Family Ties, long before she become Monica, she kissed another Canadian, Michael J Fox.

For Benson, Clayton Endicott (Rene Auberjonois) brought a more dynamic personality into being Benson's foil than Taylor (Lewis J. Stadlen) ever did in his lone season w/ Benson.

In regards to Christine, Markie Post was not available to do the show when it started. She was wanted for the show but couldn't due to another commitment. However, when the first two seasons were done, she was finally available and was added to the cast and replaced Ellen Foley's character.

Wasn't the other female Karen Austin seen in the 1st 10 episodes of S1?
McGillicuddy 09-13-2011, 07:25 PM Speaking of Night Court, Florence was a great cast addition. Unfortunately, she past away after only one season. She replaced Selma, who died the season before. :(

I loved it when Terri from Three's Company came on. I like her better than Cindy.
Bewitched --- Dick Sargent replaced Dick York
(Yes folks, it's true, I liked the 2nd Darrin better!)
Petticoat Junction --- Lori Saunders as Bobbie Jo #2, Meredith MacRae as Billie Jo #3
My Three Sons --- Ernie, Uncle Charley, Katie, and Polly
Family Ties --- Ellen, Alex's first steady girlfriend
I Dream Of Jeannie --- Mrs Bellows. She was gorgeous!
Mork & Mindy --- After Season 1, the show went through a lot of changes, many of which were unnecessary, but adding Tom Poston as Mr Bickley and Jonathan Winters as Mearth were nice touches.
The Flintstones --- Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm
Also: one more vote for Batgirl, Cheryl Ladd (my favourite Angel), and Jo from "The Facts Of Life"
tooltime1987 06-11-2013, 07:40 PM Everybody Loves Raymond- They added Monica Horan as Amy McDougal in seasons 8 & 9.

Benson, Bob Benson here. Fine day this is. Where are my manners? Can I get you anything, sir? Coffee? Tea, perhaps, if you’re looking for some, as my father used to say, caffeine minus the mean? I’m not sure what he meant by that. No one did. Horrible drunk. Just horrible. Fancy dresser, though. I have his pair of swimming trunks in my office, in fact. Anyway, please let me know if there’s anything I can do for you…anything. The reason I stand in front of you today — and might I say, sir, you have a delightful office and this photo, well, I just can’t believe how much Lil’ Suzy has grown — is because I, Robert Benson, wanted to thank you for all the opportunities you given here. It seems like only yesterday that I joined the company, but it feels like I’ve been here for at least five years.
I’m certainly not the only one who must feel that way.
