Diane Chambers 01-08-2002, 08:37 PM BuMP* lol
sammyanddiane 01-08-2002, 09:02 PM i am a tv fanatic for good shows,I like the shows CHEERS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SHOW and the others that i don,t like nearly as much but are good are all in the family, mash, golden girls, barny miller, family ties and taxi,STILL CHEERS IS THE ONLY ONE I CARE IF I MISS
Location,Canada
Hobbies, writing, acting,tv and films, and i enjoy reviewing them,I also like to draw and to make costumes,I have alot of interests execpt sports and dancing,I am terrible and don,t like either
Likes,I love most of the 80s,allright i agree some of it was really tacky, but there were a alot of things i love about it,It did produce some great things like cheers, writing and drawing,I love school
age,over 15 but under 35
Goals,I am doing nursing collage next year and i also want to be a director, actor and screenwriter for telivison,I love doing that kind of work,My 1 goal is to creat a show as good as cheers!
I'm Matthew Braswell from Hickory, North Carolina. Although my favorite show is The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Cheers is my second favorite. I also like All in the Family, Seinfeld, and The Love Boat. My favorite Cheers character is Frasier. I'm fifteen and in the tenth grade. I like watching professional sports and shooting baskets, I have two younger sisters, and my career goal is to become the governor of Massachusetts.
Dr Lilith Sternin 01-08-2002, 11:08 PM Oh, oh... where to begin! I love talking about myself <--- that's a good start! ;)
My name's Bethany, I'm 17 years old and I'm from the Boston area (apparently I have a Bostonian/New York accent... if anyone cares). My friends call me B or Bethy.
Lets see, career goals -- Broadway is my ultimate goal. I will be either a musical theatre or voice major next year. I'll either be at Juilliard as a voice major, with a minor in theatre, and I'm still applying to Emerson and Boston Conservatory as a musical theatre major *crosses fingers*. I really hope to go to Boston Conservatory.
My dreams: To one day sing on the Tony awards, to WIN a Tony award, to play Daisy Hilton in a revival of Side Show on Broadway, and to convert the world to Bethyism... ooo... wait, wrong message board!
I think I pretty much covered everything... basically musical theatre IS my life.
If my career on Broadway falls through, I was considering becoming a singing psychiatrist, what do you think? I could turn sessions into little musicals of their own. It would be very therapeutic, I think.
Here's a picture of me taken on my friends web camera. My eyes are actually blue (why they look brown is beyond me) and my hair is usually blonde.. only I recently died it reddish brown... needed a change. LOL
moofomoo 01-09-2002, 12:28 PM My name is moo. No really it is...I'm like "Prince" ya know? Changed my name to something stupid? Ok, so I'm a pathological liar. Ok, I lied...I just like to be funny...for kicks. M. Gracie...and no the M doesn't stand for moo...but it should.
I live in New York City, but moved here almost 3 years ago from California. I moved for Broadway. I'm only a double threat, but after dance classes (when my surgery makes me walk again) I'll be a triple threat, and I already have connections in the theatre world to work on stage when I can walk again. Yay me. *sarcasm there (seeing as I havent walked in a year now)*
My favorite tv shows are Golden Girls, Cheers, Frasier, Whose Line is it Anyway, and Quantum Leap...though I watch other shows as well. And I love cartoons.
My favorite Cheers character is Carla, and my least favorite is Woody *hides* cuz his stupidity gets old after a while...but I agree, you need them all to make "Cheers."
My favorite actor of all time is Hans Conried and if you don't know who he is, you can visit my website devoted to him. http://www.hansconried.com/ and my page there "my 2¢" has the most recent pic of me, even if it is a year old.
Anything else can be asked!
**moo, Gracie moo...shaken, not stirred**
Mcfly 01-09-2002, 02:33 PM Man, I'm just like everyone here! I want to be in showbiz as well (actor) having lived 45 minutes south of Hollywood all my life. Taken a couple classes, found a manager, but $$$ has slowed me up. I love writing (like a lot of you) and if I didn't make it as an actor, I would love to at least be the next John Hughes. I fell in love with tv and movies at 10 when I was given my own cable box in my room. Endless hours of The Movie Channel, Showtime and HBO (oh, and pay-per-view) made me want to be a part of entertainment. Plus, growing up on the best sitcoms ever in the 80s. My faves are Cheers, Wings, Family Ties, Night Court, Growing Pains, Threes Company and even Mr. Belvedere.
Fave character is probly Sammy. Least is Carla (great lines, but no one hardly stands up to her).
Good luck to you (us) all in making it!
Dr Lilith Sternin 01-09-2002, 05:11 PM Moo.. hope you can walk again soon! I'm a triple threat... I've studied dance since I was 2 (well, how much can you really *study* at the age of 2?!), studied voice since I was 10, and I've just been acting my whole life, LOL. Very cool that you're into musical theatre... email me at HyperDivaGurlie@aol.com!
McFly... do you frequent the theatre chat room at AOL by any chance...?
sammyanddiane 01-09-2002, 09:38 PM YOU GUYS ARE ALL REALLY COOL,It,s great that we have something in comman,I wouldn,t mind doing musical theatre execpt that i can,t sing GOOD AT ALL,but i guess it doesn,t matter if your really into it,So Dr lilith have you been in any musicals or productions of any kind at all?I hope you do well and get a great career in it.maybe you could sing to your patients and sing to enterain them or even give them voice lessons, well i am trying to start up a theatre company where i live, but the problam is that i don,t know very many people who would be into that kind of thing though so it sucks that I can,t start one yet are any of you guys in some kind of club or theatre group, tell me abit about it my email address is rachelexboston@hotmail.com
Dr Lilith Sternin 01-09-2002, 09:57 PM I've done many a show over the years! :D
Let's see... I was Guenevere (Camelot), Adelaide (Guys and Dolls), Catherine (Pippin), Iolanthe (Iolanthe), Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Gianetta (The Gondoliers), and Eliza (My Fair Lady). I've also done straight plays... Scenes and Revelations (Charlotte), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Taming of the Shrew (Katharine), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hermia), etc.
It's great so many people on this board are into theatre! :D
sammyanddiane 01-09-2002, 10:12 PM THATS REALLY GREAT AND I HOPE YOU GET MORE BIG BREAKS AND I HOPE ALL OF YOU HAVE THE SAME KIND OF LUCK,I am still trying to think of a way to make my mark and hit in show bussniess
Mcfly 01-10-2002, 01:39 AM Lilith: I go into the Movie Madness room a lot, but didn't know there was a theater one.
moofomoo 01-10-2002, 11:56 AM There's never a decent place to discuss theatre online anymore. I don't have AOL, I have AIM and a cable modem. Woo hoo for cable modems!
There used to be "On Broadway" on yahoo, but don't bother going there, it went to hell in a handbasket ages ago. I was one of the founding mother/fathers of the room, and it lost its reason for existing when we got really rude people, and it became childish. You can't even have an opinion of your own there without being criticized.
**moo, talk is cheap, I like typing**
Mcfly 01-10-2002, 01:11 PM Oh, man, moo, Yahoo is the scuz-pit of the chat world. Everyone is so angry and racist, constantly fighting or looking for sex (that part I can understand, hehe) but mostly it's a collection of critical loudmouths who are hiding behind a computer, knowing they can say what they want and not suffer any kind of physical consequence. The fight rooms are good for a laugh sometimes, but you try and go into a normal one for some conversation and you've got some dumb booter or mic hog or verbal war going on. A great idea (voicechat) that got really tarnished by the wrong kind of people.
Diane Chambers 01-10-2002, 06:03 PM hey thats so cool everyones into drama here... i will get into new york.. im taking voice lessons in starlet in new brunswick, but i love the whole drama thing.. does anyone have something called "plays in the park" by them? its not actually plays in the park.. but its a theatre place, big around here where i went since i was 8
sammyanddiane 01-10-2002, 07:10 PM these are great boards and i prefer talking on them to chat rooms,i hate chat rooms mostly from my experinces in them,I don,t usally go into them, but all the people i have talked with were rude or mean and they really don,t talk about much, sometimes what they say doesn,t make any sense,I,m not saying all chat rooms are like this at all,but i,m saying that the ones i,ve been to you can,t even have a conversation with the people who go into them, this board WAY better and safer then any chat rooms
sammyanddiane 01-10-2002, 07:12 PM this is a really cool place,so has anyone had better luck and fun in chat rooms than i have, please tell me about it,what was your chat room experance like for you when you go into chat rooms
Diane Chambers 01-10-2002, 08:18 PM Nope.. not really, chats are stupid...
sammyanddiane 01-10-2002, 09:06 PM I agree with ya all the way there,I HATE THEM,talking over the message boards is way more fun and exeiting
Dr Lilith Sternin 01-12-2002, 12:25 AM I used to frequent the theatre chat room at AOL all the time but it was overcome by a bunch of teenyboppers one day and I rarely go in there anymore. I sometimes go into the chat room at Playbill.com... rarely though.
Ooo... I got a new digital camera/web camera today.. woo-hoo! I've gone picture crazy... look, its me... yay! :D
Central Perk 01-12-2002, 09:33 PM Well Today we got some people who enjoyed Cheers, and we sort of chatted in a private chat room. I guess it was pretty fun but it was just us...
Dr Lilith Sternin 01-13-2002, 12:48 AM Yes, once we got our little rp organized, my Frasier left me and then my computer froze... so much for that! We'll get it right next time... ;)
Central Perk 01-13-2002, 09:34 AM Yeah.....We'll try it again. No Ecopods though!
Diane Chambers 01-13-2002, 12:05 PM LOL.. Nick At nite skipped over that episode didnt they

Diane Chambers-Malone 01-13-2002, 09:27 PM That is a great idea! I say we call it a field trip! LOL
Diane Chambers 01-13-2002, 09:31 PM Yea!! Haha
Dulcineah1 01-13-2002, 11:05 PM Here's my info--I'm hoping this is the right thread for it!
Name: Heather, because my parents were boring and unoriginal, but all my friends call me Dulcey so I go by that.
Loc: Tucson, Arizona, although I'll be moving in a few months when I finish college. Where to depends on where I get into graduate school, most likely Chicago, although I might go to Hartford.
Other Tv Shows: Frasier
Fav. Cheers Character: Frasier and Lilith, with Diane a very close second.
Least Fav: I love them all, so it's hard to say. Cliff?
Other Information: I'm a fourth year psychology student, hoping to go into clinical psychology, um, I'm five months away from my twenty-first birthday. I was a "Frasier" fan, but I always thought Lilith was cool, so I became a Frasier and Lilith fan, then a Cheers fan.
sammyanddiane 01-14-2002, 10:32 AM THIS IS GOOD BECAUSE I AM WITH YOU GUYS ALL THE WAY THERE ABOUT LIKING DEEP CONVERSATIONS ABOUT LIFE, I don,t know if phliosphical conversations is the right way to put it but i do love all of them,I am concidered weird by my friends, but i have alot of them,I usally to be and vaule creativity and being very differant form the norm of peopleI love to have deep conversations unfortunitly being still a teenager alot of people our age seem to be unable to do that or just not interested, that is why i always pick shows like cheers as my favorite ones to watch,CHEERS is a really intelligent show and it has alot of substence and good characters, more in the diane years, but it was still funny and entertaining,i think that is some of what most the current of shows are missing today,(they don,t make shows like they used to in my opionon atleast),I also don,t have little or any time for fickle and brainless and ignorent people like you also
I AM GLAD that some people my age like cheers,We all know a great show when we see it right?LONG LIVE CHEERS
Diane Chambers-Malone 01-14-2002, 05:20 PM :) I am so happy that I have finally found some people that I can relate to. We should have a "deep chat" sometime. LOL

cheers freak 01-20-2002, 09:43 AM Here's my story:
Hi
My name is Don Morris. I live in Canada(in between Ottawa and Halifax). My Mom is on here way to sailing down to Florida were she plans to live. I'm 16 (17 in may). My eariest memories of tv are cheers. I started watching it agian3 years ago. Ever since then i have been absolutly obsessed with cheers. lol
I have never been to boston (hey sammyanddiane, maybe we should go sometime since we both live in canada.) I'm hoping be an actor. It is something i have a real passion for. Thays about all i can think of now.
sammyanddiane 01-20-2002, 12:46 PM GREAT,GOOD IDEA,that would be cool and maybe we,ll even meet some of the stars there, because i heard that alot of them sometimes hang out there too,I forgot to add afew things last time i was here,I LOVE TO TALK and I also LOVE DEEP THINKING,which is kind of a problam for me,I belive both silence AND talking can be golden,I also LOVE TO LAUGH and to tell jokes, another reason why i loove cheers is because it is very very funny and it has intelligent writing,i love to meet new people, and I am interested in intellectual things, but i also am into mindless fun depending on what it is though, and I AM OBSSESED WITH CHEERS
good luck to all you guys,i hope that you all make it big in theatre or film and tv or whatever it is that you are persuing Lol

Sure we can chat :) My E-mail is in my profile. Psychology is a very interesting subject, IMHO. I won't waste time talking about it here though.
Diane@Sam4ever 02-04-2002, 04:12 PM Hi! I'm new.
Name: Samantha
Location: NY City, and I love it! In fifty years I'll probably be still living in the same place.
Other TV Shows: Obvioiusly "Cheers", "The Facts of Life" though Nick at nite doesn't seem to be showing it much, oh well I've got my five thousand tapes!, "Different Strokes, "All in the Family", "Family Ties (though it's mainly because Micheal J Fox is so hot on it. The plots were kinda "Brady Bunch"), "The Wonder Years" and the classical "I love Lucy". It's not really a sitcom, but I'm devoted to "True Hollywood Stories" on E. Has anyone seen the Cheers one?
Fav Character: Diane, hands down. I haven't seen many eppies from season 6-11, so Diane and Sam basically were the show from the eppies I've seen. Besides her though I'd have to say Sam, Carla, Norm, Cliff or Coach (LOL!). Sam was just so hot, talented and basically lovable, Carla got some of the best lines, Norm was this sweet funny guy, Cliff was just funny and strangely lovable and Coach of course was the most lovable of them all. I never liked Woody for some strange reason, he was cute thuogh.
Least Fav Character: Woody.
Fav Quote: That whole dialog in Sam's office at the end of "Showdown" between Sam and Diane.
Favorite Eppy: The one where Sam goes (or doesn't go) to the ski resort.
Favorite Season: Season Two. So good.
Hobbies: I really enjoy writing, I'm working on a novel right now in fact. I've always been interested in acting as well, but lately it's taken a backside to my novel. I like reading, watching old sitcoms (obviously), socializing with people, shopping till I drop, and I'm sorta a movie buff.
Age: I'm in high school.
Email: SamanthH1009762@aol.com or TMNTObsesser@aol.com (another obsession of mine, their not for kids, the comics were quite adult and good)
Brian Damage 02-15-2002, 05:31 PM Hi everybody my name is Brian. I live in NYC and love it! I am in broadcasting and am currently working for Shadow Operations which gives out news to all the networks, ABC,CBS,NBC etc,etc... I've been an on air talent for morning radio in NY for WNEW 102.7 I've met alot of famous people in my line of work and have loved every minute of it. I've visited Boston a couple of times and had a blast every time I've gone there. It's really cool to see the Bull and Finch, even if it doesn't look too much like Cheers. Even though I'm in my 20's, I love Cheers, Taxi, the Odd Couple, the Honeymooners and I love Lucy better than anything on TV right now. Although I do like The King of Queens somewhat. I love to laugh! That's more important to me than anything else. ( A great sense of humor!) In closing, any of you who want or dream of getting into show business, NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!! It can and will happen to those who are willing to sacrifice for it. I used to be in construction making alot of money, then one day I had enough and wanted to be in broadcasting. I gave up all that money to go to school and intern for nothing. Eventually, that internship turned into my first paying job in the industry and I haven't looked back since! Good Luck!!!
