Well I disagree. I think the show and IDOJ really MADE his career. Would he have been as famous or successful if not for these shows? I highly doubt it.

He was a great second banana. And there's nothing wrong with that. lol

Actually, he's talking about his stand-up career and the fact that his routines were similar to Newhart's, but Bob was the one who always got booked. So he ended up an actor instead (as did Bob, ironically).

Interesting to read that, thanks. But I think if you asked Bill about this NOW, you'd get a different answer. Perspective changes in 38 years.

I read somewhere that Bill Daily had trouble remembering lines and many times ad libbed on I Dream of Jeanie and The Bob Newhart Show.
