Anybody else know this??? Bill Daly's character city councilman "Pete Peterson" was supposed to get a spinoff of his own but the networks didn't want to buy it. I never knew that.

It was before the Bob Newhart show, the episode in question aired on March 4th, 1972. :)

I think you are right Sonny. I thought it was interesting though that Mary Tyler Moore and her then husband Grant Tinker wanted to make this character into another show.
