(The Washington Capitals beat the NY Rangers 2-0.)
(Ed comes into the Kramden apartment.)
Ed: "Hey Ralph-ie boy! How upsetting was that game, huh?"
(Ralph comes out looking sad.)
Ralph: "Double whammy Norton. I had to spend the night with Alice's Mom and the Rangers LOST."
Ed: "It looks like the Rangers have put themselves in a big hole. But, look on the bright side. The Rangers have two more opportunities to beat the Capitals."
Ralph: "You are right Norton. Those Capitals are going to lose with a capital L."
Ed: "Those Capitals think that they are going to win it all. What poor-misguided souls. Those Rangers are going to win the Cup and have a parade right OVER my place of work."
Ralph: "Yes, I would love driving people to the parade too."
Ed: "Yeah, let's not think of the fact that the Rangers are down by two games and that they played poorly. We got to smile Ralph. Smile. Smile. Smile."
Ralph (yells): "GET OUT! GEEEEEEEEEET OUT!"
(Ed leaves.)
Ralph: "'We got to smile.'"
(Jackie Gleason walks on stage. Audience applauds.)
Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!"
(Audience cheers.)
