Do you think TV Land will ever acquire any more classic shows (1950's-80's)? If so, which ones do you think would do well?

If so, which ones do you think would do well? Regulus 03-29-2011, 07:25 PM TV Land(fill) acquire more Classic TV? :rotflmao: :horse: clj2 03-29-2011, 08:13 PM I don't think so unless it's something like The Munsters to fill weekday mornings. They don't seem interested in anything other than Norman Lear shows from the 70s (they don't like Maude or ODAAT) and Three's Company and they tried 80s shows but they didn't really work. 60s seem iffy. So, I think if anything I think it'll be something from the 60s like The Munsters or Green Acres that they aired recently. They don't even air all of the ones that they have, so I don't see why they'd acquire any more. treky 03-30-2011, 02:02 AM the way they treat the ones they have, I don't give a damn WHAT they do!!! ekkostar 03-30-2011, 03:49 PM I really miss when TV Land would take a chance with an obscure show and let it run over a few months. Now that Bravo's "Brilliant But Canceled" Trio is gone, I'd like to see TVL start picking up rarities again. Regulus 03-30-2011, 09:55 PM the way they treat the ones they have, I don't give a damn WHAT they do!!! I hear you treky. I have given up all hope for TV Land (As well as all other forms of Commercial TV). Later this year I will purchase all of the Star Trek DVD Sets I currently don't have, after I finish that I estimate I will have over 25,000 TV Episodes on TV on DVD, which will probably last me THE REST OF MY LIFE! brtcmfn 04-01-2011, 07:12 PM TV Land is such a disgrace!- I just saw the All in the family episode- The border Patrol- and there are some great scenes cut in the bus station- I am so glad for Antenna TV- I saw the same episode a week ago and was totally uncut!- Who cares if TV Land wakes up and adds more classics- they don't treat any of them with respect. treky 04-02-2011, 12:44 AM the "AITF" episodes on Antenna TV ARE edited:( thankfully, not by much though. bencasey 04-02-2011, 01:06 AM To answer the original question, sure they will. When Pigs Fly. dakert 04-02-2011, 02:05 AM TVLand is done--stick a fork in them. LUNCH 04-02-2011, 11:31 AM TVLand, are they still on the air? TVFactFan 04-03-2011, 04:28 PM TV Land is not done because they have still shows on their schedule from the 60's,, and 70's. I would like to see these shows on TV Land replace Sanford and Son and Good Times 1. Bob Newhart Show 2. Mary Tyler Moore or Rhoda Regulus 04-03-2011, 04:44 PM IMO TELEVISION is done! :rip: Too Many Commercials :angryfire Too Little Variety  yankeesrj12 04-03-2011, 11:02 PM TVLand is just fine without the classic shows. I'm looking forward to the return of Hot in Cleveland and the premiere of Happily Divorced. bencasey 04-05-2011, 01:59 AM TV Land is not done because they have still shows on their schedule from the 60's,, and 70's. Mary Tyler Moore or Rhoda Do they have anything from then that isn't on DVD complete and uncut? Why would anyone care when you can just watch it on a DVD? TVFactFan 04-05-2011, 07:51 PM Do they have anything from then that isn't on DVD complete and uncut? Why would anyone care when you can just watch it on a DVD? Nope that's why they need to replace those 60's and 70's shows and add Gomer Pyle Mary Tyler Moore Bob Newhart Alice treky 04-06-2011, 12:35 AM Do they have anything from then that isn't on DVD complete and uncut? Why would anyone care when you can just watch it on a DVD? because, as I've said before and others have also said not everyone can afford a DVD player. It may seem hard to believe, but not everyone can afford $40! Regulus 04-06-2011, 07:40 AM because, as I've said before and others have also said not everyone can afford a DVD player. It may seem hard to believe, but not everyone can afford $40! Yet they CAN afford the $103.00 a Month (This is what it would cost me to Subscribe to Cable IF I desired to), in order to watch what few heavily-edited Commercial-INFESTED programming TV Land airs. (Not to mention those 150+ Other Channels!) I've spent about $65.00 a Month since I "Cut the Cord" in January of 2007. How well have I done? Just look at my Signature.;) WalrusIsPaul 04-08-2011, 02:53 AM Do they have anything from then that isn't on DVD complete and uncut? Why would anyone care when you can just watch it on a DVD? That is true, i don't watch any shows on tv if i have them in dvd or taped to dvd from tv,That's why i taped in the 1st place. But as far as classic shows go, I would love to see shows that lasted a season or less and are not on dvd. Perhaps Palmers town USA & Supertrain, for starters Ok i also understand the ones who can't afford to buy all they like, mainly i was speaking for myself |
