View Full Version : ME-TV any news ?
MeTV started today in Buffalo on Ch 67.1.
Luckily for me it's on the 67.1 and not .2 or .3, so I don't need to fiddle with my antenna anymore trying to get that channel. It's on my directv ch 67. It's on time warner in the area on channel 5. So far- 1 day and loving the channel ! :)
the channel used to be wngs, but also today the station changed call letters to wbbz and me tv took over 67.1 from this tv. This tv is one of the substations now.
Luckily for you, not so much for me.
Me-TV finally arrives in Buffalo, the closest US city to my hometown of Oakville, (approx. 56 miles/90 km away) and naturally it has to pick the station with the weakest signal. Back in the old UHF days, whenever I would fool around with my remote and look for channels on the UHF or later Antenna 2 signal, I would receive all of the OTA stations from 2-13 and Buffalo's UHF channels 17 (PBS), 23 (CW) and 49 (My TV). Trying to get 67 was practically impossible, even on the best of days. I did read a few weeks ago where WNGS (now WBBZ) will try to get its signal changed to 45 or something in the 40s, which would make it easier to pick up, but I'm not sure when, or if, that will happen, so ironically enough, I would have to buy a real antenna to watch Antenna TV. It might not work too well at first but on August 31, all Canadian TV will go from analog to digital so I might have better luck then.
Here's what this all means. The presence of WBBZ will lead to big changes at WGRZ, Channel 2. The biggest one will be the imminent cancellation of one of my favourite series, "Lunch Time With The Classics" with Lydia Dominick at noon, effective Sept. 6. WGRZ also currently owns Buffalo's RTV affiliate on subchannel 2.3. It will also be gone after Sept. 16. The full details are here:
WBBZ Shift Leads To Channel 2 Changes by Alan Pergament (http://stilltalkintv.com/2011/08/wbbz-shift-leads-to-channel-2-changes/)
Sorry to spring all this bad news on you at once but hopefully some good might come out of it. If RTV is no longer available in Buffalo, WGRZ could use the subchannel to do what other former RTV stations have done and that is to turn it into an Antenna TV station. Right now, no plans have been made to replace RTV with anything, but I believe Antenna TV is the best option. Channel 2 may not have much choice in the matter, especially if the new Me-TV Buffalo is a success. I know I'll be watching it if I can find out how to do it, so this weekend I'll be shopping for a new digital antenna, a real strong one!
tiredmike59 08-05-2011, 12:37 AM Did anybody see that old Wanted dead or alive promo they started
to show after twilight zone last night ? I just started getting MeTV
this week, Do they do that often with some of their shows ?
That would be cool if they do.
ajgenard 08-05-2011, 12:58 AM I didn't catch that particular one but they most certainly have promos for a good chunk of their shows in addition to several general MeTV promos. The promo for the Lucy marathon starting tomorrow has been plastered all over the channel, airing at least 2 or 3 times an hour. I'm sure they'll wrangle some viewers over the weekend.
Its seems like this channel really has their act together. The total opposite of RTV. It's no wonder that affiliates have been dropping that and opting for MeTV instead.
biffbronson 08-05-2011, 04:55 PM They're doing some interesting promos:
For Twilight Zone and Bonanza, they have separate promos each showing some of the many famous guest stars.
For Hogan's Heroes, the spot talks about "Mission Impossible" and has Werner Klemperer (Col. Klink) saying "impossible!"
Some shows have combined promos, like The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction, focusing on the BH episodes where the Clampetts visited Hooterville. Then theres the promo that has Mary Tyler Moore as Mary Richards watching her old Laura Petrie character, when Laura inadvertently revealed Alan Brady's baldness on The Dick Van Dyke Show.
One has characters ostensibly listening to their own show's theme songs, like for Cheers. Another promotes the military series -- MASH, Gomer Pyle, and Bilko. There are even memorable sneezes, and characters playing drums from different shows (but they forgot Maynard G. Krebs!).
And there are others that include combinations of Get Smart/Petticoat Junction, Honey West/Dick Van Dyke Show, etc.
I think my favorite was for Family Affair featuring Kathy Garver in a current piece of work, where old film of young Jody (Johnnie Whitaker) has him commenting how Cissy looks all "grown up....!"

Thanks for that link. Sorry to see lunchtime with the classics go. I dvr'd that everyday to watch when I came home from work.
Hopefully you will be able to pick up WBBZ soon. It is a hard signal to get in.
I couldn't get it to come in for me but a quick in and out when I tried ota. I did manage to pick up quite a few Candian stations. :)
I hope Ch 2 does add antennea tv. I'm not sad to see RTV go, I didn't care much for their new programming.
Watching Me Tv the first 2 weeks it has aired here has given me a few laughs. It's kinda fun watching them figure out what they are doing and what feed they are using.
A couple times, I was watching I Love Lucy, and in the middle of the episode, it switches to the middle of a The Lucy Show episode.
In the morning it says I Love Lucy is to air for an hour block, and the first few days it did, then it was The Lucy Show airing in that time. Today it was an episode of each.
Once Perry Mason went to commercial, and came back starting from where the commercial break before had started.

I've seen promos air before the ending of one show stating such and such show is coming up next, but it doesn't air next something else does.
The line up says one thing on the tv guide and something completly different comes on.
And Our Lucy-thon last weekend, was almost exclusively The Lucy Show. Sunday was all day The Lucy Show. Saturday morning had a few I Love Lucys before going solely The Lucy Show.
Had a nice surprise the other morning when My Three Sons came on after Petticoat Junction when Cash Cab was listed. However, that was the only time that lovely snapfo happened.
I also really like their promos for their shows as well as the retro commercials.
I've been glued to this station the last 2 weeks. I can't wait to see what they have airing for the weekends..since I can't trust the tv listings. lol
eng51squad51 08-12-2011, 12:00 PM Me-TV in the Greenville/Spart area on the following stations:
Over the air: WSPA - September 26, 2011
Charter Cable channel 138
VisualSensation 08-12-2011, 12:15 PM This seems somewhat weird to me, but the MeTV station here in Milwaukee announced yesterday that it's going to be adding BounceTV as a subchannel when it begins airing in late September. They had announced at the beginning of the year that they would be starting a Me-Too subchannel in Milwaukee by the end of March, but nothing has yet to happen.
tiredmike59 08-12-2011, 12:52 PM Does MeTV have a site where I could post a comment about airing Death Valley Days ? All I could find was Facebook and Twitter.

Peter Gunn

The Riferman
http://metvnetwork.com/fall.php
Also coming are Mission: Impossible, Star Trek, Laurel & Hardy, Lost In Space, and Batman.
How many more channels do we need Daniel Boone, The Rifleman, and Peter Gunn on?! Aren't those already on RTV and MyFamily?
Launch dates for more MeTV affiliates (these are all referenced):

I guess those shows are for people that have those channels. In other words, people who have ME-TV probably dont have RTV and MyFamily. People who have RTV probably dont have ME-TV and MyFamily.
Retro76 08-13-2011, 02:15 AM In addition to those shows listed, there is also a note at the bottom stating "...and more". That part alone makes looking forward to the Fall Schedule exciting and makes one wonder what other shows will join the line-up. Hopefully, a personal favorite will finally make it.....

Daniel Boone & The Rifleman have been airing on World Harvest Television for a long time.

They may do those like they do in some area for exsample like Lucy Show air instead of I love Lucy in some area like in Cailf.
It be nice if they would add The Real McCoy's and Mayberry RFD as those two shows haven't been seen since the OLD Nashville Network last air the Real Mccoys and Mayberry RFD haven't been shown since TNT last show them.
mets82 08-13-2011, 12:26 PM Daniel Boone & The Rifleman have been airing on World Harvest Television for a long time.

8:00AM Happy Days

1:00AM The Twilight Zone

4:00AM The Streets of San Fransisco
The weekend schedule could be juggled around to accomidate the new acquisitions and shows that are moved off of the weekday line-up. The above would showcase what I feel are their strongest shows.
Too bad they don't have Family Ties from CBS. The time it airs on The Hub isn't convienent at all for me.
Retro76 08-13-2011, 02:31 PM If they have to show Star Trek TOS, I hope they air the ORIGINAL episodes that are NOT enhanced with CGI effects and have original Desilu/Paramount logos at the end.

tiredmike59 08-14-2011, 02:20 AM Does anybody outside of Chicago get MeTOO ?
I was wondering if everyone that has MeTV will be getting MeTOO In the future, or is that strictly for Chicago residents ?

I was wondering if everyone that has MeTV will be getting MeTOO In the future, or is that strictly for Chicago residents ?
That would certainly be sweet if they started offering MeToo nationally. But it's really a one-shot deal that was made specifically for the Chicago market. According to wikipedia MeToo was their drama programming and MeTV was sitcoms before they went national. After they designed the national channel they merged some run-off programming (of which they most likely already had local-only deals in place) and called that MeToo.
In other words I would imagine that most of the shows on MeToo have Chicago-only contracts. If that's the case then making a national MeToo would be like creating a whole 'nother channel. That would depend on the national success of MeTV. ThisTV was apparently successful enough to prompt them into creating another channel so it's not outside the realm of possibility.
tiredmike59 08-14-2011, 04:44 PM Any guesses as to why most of these free channels originate out of Chicago ?

Given the way they're airing HD/remastered episodes of some of their other TV shows, it'll be reason to say that they'll do the same to ST:ToS.
Up until the DVD's, Mission: Impossible had one of the longest streaks of unplastered logos for a Paramount-TV produced show and w/ MeTV airing remastered episodes of most of their TV shows, say goodbye to the Paramount TV logos w/ M:I on MeTV.

Thanks for the info. The reason why I mentioned this is the fact that KDOC is airing ST-TOS with its CGI additions and plus, I noticed on a recent airing of Love, American Style and Happy Days, they retained their old logos, which was a shock to me after seeing them on DVD with them ending CBS Paramount Television.
Isn't Mission: Impossible already airing in Phoenix (in place of Perry Mason or something)?
It looks like the Bay Area will lose its Me-TV affiliate. KFTY has been sold to a Spanish broadcasting company, who has plans to switch it to a Spanish network.
Mario500 08-15-2011, 10:42 PM By September 26th, WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama will be replacing Retro Television Network programming with Me-TV programming on one of their digital sub-channels. Here is a link (http://www.examiner.com/tv-in-mobile/wkrg-tv-to-replace-retro-television-network-programming-with-me-tv-programming) to an article with more details.
ajgenard 08-15-2011, 11:04 PM Any guesses as to why most of these free channels originate out of Chicago ?
As far as I know there are only 2 companies out of Chicago that own free OTA channels - Tribune Broadcasting (AntennaTV) and Weigel Broadcasting (MeTV, ThisTV). Those few channels seem to make the biggest splashes and seem the most well-run out of all them. Chicago is after all the 3rd biggest media market in the country.
However I believe Luken Communications out of Chattanooga, TN actually owns the most OTA channels - RTV, TuffTV, MyFamilyTV and soon PBJ. The rest of these OTA channels are from a handful of companies in the south. It's just a small sample size that makes Chicago seems like the originator.
Zoneboy 08-15-2011, 11:59 PM http://www.wht.tv they also stream their shows they also show Green Acres
And Patty Duke and Bat Masterson on Saturdays.
eng51squad51 08-16-2011, 12:33 PM MeTV welcomes Tucson, Arizona on channel KOLD 13.2!
MeTV is coming to Birmingham, AL on WVTM-TV on September 26. Same for WCMH in Columbus, OH.
Assuming it will replace RTV.
eng51squad51 08-17-2011, 11:43 PM KCSG in St. George/Cedar City, Utah is launching Me-TV on September 5!
KCSG
Mario500 08-18-2011, 08:35 AM The date for WKRG-TV was changed from September 28th to September 26th. My previous post and the article linked to the post were changed to reflect the change.
tvfreak1987 09-07-2011, 02:04 PM I have no idea what the launch date is yet, but I just read on Pavan's latest blog that my local FOX station (WSYM Lansing, MI) is adding ME-TV!!!!! So excited!!!
Edit: Launch date is October 1st!!!
ajgenard 09-08-2011, 04:42 AM Things only seem to be getting better for MeTV now that they have cleared 60% national coverage. I am anxious to see their fall schedule, even though the current schedule is perfectly balanced IMO.
BigManMike 09-08-2011, 09:57 AM When are they ever going to come to Memphis? I don't understand what is taking so long.
In addition to those shows listed, there is also a note at the bottom stating "...and more". That part alone makes looking forward to the Fall Schedule exciting and makes one wonder what other shows will join the line-up. Hopefully, a personal favorite will finally make it.....
Guess what? They made it! So now that means you'll "love" the schedule even more! I know this because I took a peek at the schedule that's listed on their website. Under Monday, Sept. 26, the lineup begins to change. The listings are all under Central Time, so I've converted them to Eastern Time for you. Here's what you should expect during the weekdays (Mon-Thu; Fridays aren't listed yet!)
ME-TV --- Mon. Sept. 26, 2011 (http://metvnetwork.com/schedule.php?date=09/26/2011)

12:30/1:30 AM UNTOUCHABLES

So this should be their new fall lineup, effective Mon. Sept. 26. The next day, another new affiliate comes on board as ME-TV makes its debut in Rochester, NY on WHEC-TV Channel 10.2. If I can't pick up the Buffalo feed, I'll be giving this one a try, except the best shows are on early in the morning between 5-9 and I like to sleep in! I'm still wondering about one thing. If ME-TV is now in Rochester, why won't they show Jack Benny? Think about it. Good night, folks!

Sadly, that is for the ChicagoMe-TV affiliate, not the National Schedule we're all anxiously waiting for. But I have hope that a certain show appears on the Fall Schedule, though.
JMas493 09-11-2011, 10:27 PM Isn't Batman supposed to be on the National Schedule this fall?

I cannot wait. That will be the highlight of the week, :D. If anything, I hope it's like Chicago's with the new shows in place of the NBC/Uinversal one since they don't have rights to the National Schedule. BTW,Thanks, Pavan for such great info for all of the news of the channels.
VisualSensation 09-12-2011, 10:45 PM Yesterday I saw a promo for Bosom Buddies, with the cast singing the theme song for Laverne and Shirley, followed by a title card saying "coming soon..."
Pavan 09-12-2011, 11:52 PM Schedule to come soon. But here's a scoop, since we are 2 weeks away! All the new series joining this fall (not all are weekdays of course):
Star Trek, Bosom Buddies, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Rogues, Burke's Law, Lost in Space, Batman, Green Hornet, The Rifleman, Have Gun Will Travel, Mission Impossible, The Little Rascals, Laurel & Hardy, Love American Style, The Lucy Show, The Mod Squad, The Millionaire, The Rebel, That Girl, and Make Room for Daddy.
Stay tuned on the blog: http://blog.sitcomsonline.com for MORE details.
ajgenard 09-13-2011, 04:53 AM I sure am curious to find out how existing shows are going to be affected. They already have over 40 shows. If they add these 19 without losing many current ones that would basically force a big schedule shake-up. Boy is this gonna be interesting!
Pretty much every other "classic" TV network has gotten its arse handed to it by MeTVs lineup IMO and this only improves it more. No infomercials, no reality garbage, no absurd editing jobs - ONLY quality classic television.
JMas493 09-13-2011, 08:52 AM I have to disagree about MeTV's editing. It started good, but has gotten bad. Shows that used to run 50 minutes are now being cut to 45 minutes, such as Cannon, The Untouchables, Stagecoach West.

In all honesty, I don't watch dramas and westerns nearly as much as the sitcoms. Their overall sitcom "editing" has gotten better in my opinion because it seems they have started speeding up the whole uncut show which shaves off 2 minutes of 25. Whereas it used to be cut some, speed up some. Speeding up the whole thing by 8% is very rarely noticeable (just once in a blue moon where the speech is rapid fire to begin with it then appears unnaturally too fast).
I played a DVD of a Dick Van Dyke Show episode alongside the broadcast starting at the same point from the beginning. They cut nothing at all. It just moved along a little quicker. The only one that seems wholly too fast at times is Dobie Gillis for some reason. Unfortunately I do believe there are a select few like I Love Lucy that are the same cut syndication versions that have been used for many years. The handful of dramas and westerns I watched seemed fine.
Just out of curiosity, have you verified or outright noticed some parts have been cut from Cannon, etc? They could quite possibly be the same sped up method in which case the viewer doesn't really miss anything.
Hazel Anyday 09-13-2011, 05:07 PM I only dream of one day getting Me-TV. But from looking at their very confusing schedule on their website, it seems this channel suffers from only one major flaw, it does not show their fantastic programs in episode guide order!! They are all over the place, one day episode 115, next day epis. 52, next day epis. 12, next day episode 73, etc. etc. All over the place with no hope for anyone who wants to watch these shows in the order that they were originally broadcast. I do get Antenna TV, and while they only show a handful of great TV shows (as opposed to Me-TV which seems to have 24 hours of great shows) at least Antenna TV shows their very few vintage shows in episode guide order.
storrs19 09-14-2011, 09:45 AM Looks like "Streets of San Francisco" is leaving. That's bad for me, I just discovered it with the arrival of MeTV in Louisville, KY and really enjoy that show. Our local station (32.2) doesn't air any infomercials or local programming and I hope it continues that way. I like the addition of "That Girl" and "Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea". Those haven't been on the air for quite some time. I'm very happy with MeTV. It has become my most watched channel.
boechsner 09-14-2011, 10:39 AM I only dream of one day getting Me-TV. But from looking at their very confusing schedule on their website, it seems this channel suffers from only one major flaw, it does not show their fantastic programs in episode guide order!! If the shows are from Paramount, they may very well be airing the episodes in production order. The Brady Bunch for example has always aired in production order in syndication and TBS and does on ME TV. The only network that ever aired this show in airdate order was Nick at Nite and TV Land. Personally, I prefer production order over airdate order any day. Sony owned shows on Antenna TV are the same way, they are generally always aired in production order.
The Golden Girls is another example, always aired in production order in syndication and on Lifetime. When it moved to WE and Hallmark, suddenly the series is being aired in airdate order.
As for who makes this decision, I am not sure. I believe it is a network/channel based decision. However, going from episode 52 to episode 12 is extreme. Perhaps they only have access to a certain handful of episodes, similar to what is happening on RTV.
Hazel Anyday 09-14-2011, 10:49 AM While I wish I got Me-TV, I do get Antenna TV and they definitly air episodes in episode guide order, it's a pleasure to record them. Hazel, Dennis The Menace, Father Knows Best all are in order, just the way you see them in the episode guides.
I don't get ME-TV, but I did look at their website, and while it was very confusing to figure out just exactly when a particular show was on, once I did figure that out I looked at what the episode would be that they're showing and from day to day they skipped all over the place, not just skipping within a season but all over the place from season to season back and forth. No order that I could make out other than playing whatever episode wins on the roulette wheel that day. It's my understanding that Paramount owns Me-TV (hence why they show nothing but Paramount shows) so Me-TV should have access to ALL the episodes. RTV, you're right, only had access to certain episodes and they'd play those limited amount of episodes over and over (this is when they had liscence to MCA/Universal shows). Now RTV no longer has access to MCA shows, so they're showing a bunch of odd choices for programs, some I like (Naked City, Saint, Route 66, Peter Gunn) others I don't (Movin' On, Police Story, and worst of all that show that's from the 2000's that's shown at midnight, I don't even remember it's name, I never watch. Anyway, Antenna TV does show them in episode guide order, I know, I've seen them.
boechsner 09-14-2011, 12:36 PM Just to clarify, ME TV is owned by Weigel Broadcasting which as far as I can tell has no affiliation with Paramount. Weigel is a small company based out of Chicago.
ME TV was originally a low power WWME Channel 23 out of Chicago. WCIU Channel 26 programmed it with classic TV shows back in the day and it evolved into ME-TV. Low power WMEU Channel 48 out of Chicago has now become MeToo.
ME TV has agreements with CBS/Paramount to air their shows. CBS/Paramount has their syndication bible available on their website: http://syndicationbible.cbstvd.com/
Most networks take the info given to them and use it as they may. Notice in the syndication bible, the episodes are in order first by episode number, which in many cases is the production number. This is the case with the Brady Bunch. However, if you look at a show like My Three Sons in the bible, the production number and airdate order match. It is highly unlikely that the episodes of My Three Sons would be produced and aired in order.
Case in point, on Nick at Nite/TV Land, the episode of the Brady Bunch, Law and Disorder, aired Jan 12, 1973. However, CBS/Paramount had an incorrect airdate listed of Jan 12, 1972 in their syndication bible. Nick at Nite and TV Land would always air this episode out of order because of the mis-information coming from Paramount. Believe it or not, a long time ago, I contacted Paramount and they corrected that information in their bible.
What it comes down to is ME TV/Weigel and the specific agreement with CBS/Paramount or whatever company is distributing the show you are questioning. Some agreements may only allow a station to air a certain episode a certain number of times. There could be many reasons why they are jumping all over the place. The only way to know for sure why they are doing this would be to contact ME TV directly.
MRPITT 09-14-2011, 12:53 PM I have been watching and recording
Cannon
Streets Of Sanfrancisco
Dobie Gillis
My Three Sons
Petticoat Junction
Car 54
Phil Silver
Odd Couple
And have not noticed the jumps they show them in order of Airdate now occasionally they skip episodes but I have never seen such a drastic jump to go from 115-52-12-73 like that. I do think a couple shows like My Three Sons and Dobie Gillis have a different cycle on the weekend but that wouldnt account for 4 straight days of jumping around.
Hazel Anyday 09-14-2011, 01:07 PM Like I said I don't even get Me-TV, but when I looked for the show Rawhide, when I finally found when it was on, each day I checked for it, it was showing the episodes all out of order. So, to be specific, Rawhide (according to the website, at least) was the show that was all out of order. Maybe they're showing all their other shows in order, good, I hope that's right, but Rawhide is out of order, according to Me-TV's website schedule. I wish I got Me-TV, out of order or not, all the shows they have are great ones. I would be recording Rawhide, for one, as one I'd like to get.
It's news to me that Me-TV is not owned by Paramount, thank you "boechsner" for a very informative post. I know RTV was only using MCA shows while they had the license, and as far as I know, Antenna TV (which I do get) is owned by Columbia Studios, everything they show is a Sony/Columbia property, movies, TV shows, everything. But they do show them in episode guide order.
MRPITT 09-14-2011, 01:50 PM yeah I havent followed rawhide much but if you wanted I can record it for you and we could work out a trade.
Hazel Anyday 09-14-2011, 06:22 PM I have a Rawhide set, that I got from my trading days and also that I made myself from my recordings from Hallmark before they stopped playing TV westerns. My collection is complete, I'm sure though that ME-TV's versions are pristine looking as compared to some of the episodes I got in the trade, some of these came from old tapes someone made of Rawhide when it was shown on the FX network when it first started up. I have the first 4 seasons on commercial disc. So I'd mainly now be interested in getting excellent versions of the last seasons from season 5 thru 8 (I think 8 was the last season?). But since ME-TV doesn't seem to be showing them in order, getting these last 4 seasons may be very difficult. This skipping around was of about a month or 2 ago when I checked the ME website. Who knows, maybe they're showing them in order now. I remember it was very difficult just to figure out when the show is on, it seems to be on different times on different days. 5 and 6 am and various other times as I recall. But if you can figure out how they're showing the program and can record seasons 5 thru the end, I'll be happy to trade with you. I used to do a lot of trading, but have pretty much stopped the past couple years. Once in a while a trade pops up.
ajgenard 09-14-2011, 07:07 PM ME TV has agreements with CBS/Paramount to air their shows. CBS/Paramount has their syndication bible available on their website: http://syndicationbible.cbstvd.com/
Thanks a ton for that link. Very informative site that satisified several questions I've been wondering.
TKMetal 09-14-2011, 07:36 PM It's simply CBS now also. Paramount doesn't exist in the world of TV anymore.

Too many dramas for my tastes, but it's still pretty good. Interesting to note that Rockford Files, Kojak, and Columbo are NBC Universal, and Files/Kojak are former RTV shows. No sign of That Girl or The Lucy Show unless it's part of the Sunday block.
BigManMike 09-15-2011, 03:45 PM Ok schedule. I wish they would hurry up and come to Memphis. Most of the shows I want to see aren't on at convenient times anyway. The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, and Laverne and Shirley are only on late Sunday mornings early Sunday afternoons, when I'm at church then having Sunday brunch. They need to show them on weekday afternoons or evenings. I'm not a big fan of the dramas, but I'd enjoy the I Love Lucy block later on Sunday afternoons. I don't know when I'll ever get it. But at least I have Antenna TV.
Hey, Naked City, Daniel Boone, The Rifleman, and Peter Gunn are all airing on RTV currently - I wonder if RTV will keep airing them after Me-TV adds them? They're from Peter Rogers....that means they're now airing content from 4 libraries (CBS, 20th, Peter Rogers, Universal).
A couple of those shows on Sunday nights I've never even heard of.
More affiliate news, not all of it's really new though:

Interesting. The weekday schedule looks exactly like the one I posted earlier this week, and some people still doubted me. I hope you learned your lesson! The best part is on Sundays when there are many of my favourites on, although I have to say that 2 hours of "The Brady Bunch" is a little too much, as are all the westerns that are on in the afternoons. Overall, it's very good but I have to say that Antenna TV's schedule is a little better. Do you agree or not? Both are still TONS better than any Canadian channel out there and that is very sad!

Ok I will start recording any episdoes from season 5-8 and we can go from there. Your right 8 seasons
ajgenard 09-16-2011, 12:23 AM Looks like the The Honeymooners is gone :( Really sad to see it go. Most of the changes seem logical, nothing too radical. I think it was wise of them to clear out the weekend primetime for new shows. This is still a well-balanced schedule IMO.
Ronny G 09-16-2011, 02:07 AM I'm glad they didn't remove Petticoat Junction and My Three Sons from the schedule. Those are my favorites and I record them everyday.
I think it was smart of them to reduce the hour-block of Beverly Hillbillies down to a half-hour.
I will be recording Batman on Saturday, and Route 66 and The Fugitive on Sundays. I know the latter two are available on dvd, but those sets both had issues. The Fugitive had music replacement, and the Route 66 dvd either had bad prints or was cropped to make it widescreen.
They sure are showing a lot of Rawhide: an hour weekdays, 2 hours on saturday, and an hour on Sunday. Must be popular!
jmann 09-16-2011, 06:30 AM I saw a commercial yesterday on WMUR about ME-TV coming to New Hampshire in October.
djblaze 09-16-2011, 08:13 AM New Hampshire WMUR will be the closest affiliate for me (60 miles) . I can't pull it in OTA. This will also take care of the Boston Market as WMUR is close. I believe they already have clearance for Comcast to carry it. So Boston will be able to receive OTA or Comcast. I live in the western part of the state (MA.) and my locals are in the Springfield/Holyoke DMA . The locals here already use their sub-channels . I currently pick up Antenna TV from WTIC in Conneticut via OTA . So my only hope of getting ME-TV is if a CT. affiliate signs on. When I started this thread months ago , I thought I had some hope of getting ME-TV , but it looks like I may be out of luck.
old grouch 09-16-2011, 09:20 AM 'The Rifleman' at 6PM. Seroiusly??? They should have given that slot to 'Batman' or 'Star Trek'. The rest of the schedule looks pretty good. I'm glad they gave weekday slots to 'Family Affair' and 'The Odd Couple' and am looking forward to seeing 'Daniel Boone' and 'Lost in Space'.
MRPITT 09-16-2011, 01:41 PM @Hazelanyday: your right about Rawhide they seem to have 3 cycles morning, night and weekends they sure are doing alot to accomdate Rawhide fans catering to them no matter what their personal schedule is.
Hazel Anyday 09-16-2011, 03:58 PM I'm happy with Antenna TV (somewhat, they show too many '70's shows for my taste), but I sure am envious of you ME-TV people. Sounds like ME-TV is just like TV Land USED to be when it first started up, it was great then. Now TV Land has become Crap Land and Nick At Nite would make you cry to see what it's sunken to today. Thank Goodness for FREE TV, I never thought free TV would ever be this great again. I cancelled my cable 4 years ago after I got sick of paying $70 a month for 120 channels I couldn't stand and only to watch 4 of their channels. Somehow with all the good channels no longer showing old TV shows and reality TV everywhere, it was like throwing money down the drain. Free TV with these new digital channels, THIS, Antenna TV, RTV, & Me-TV (if I only got it) are a dream come true.
Both are still TONS better than any Canadian channel out there and that is very sad!I prefer MeTV more, still. I just don't care for a lot of the B&W shows on Antenna TV or the 70s/80s sitcoms (tired of them, really) except for Maude. Still a decent network, though. I wish Me would air more sitcoms, though, especially in the afternoons, maybe starting at 4pm. Too many dramas. I also wish they could get Family Ties and Andy Griffith from CBS. Looking forward to Taxi and Odd Couple at night.
ajgenard 09-20-2011, 12:03 AM In actuality they air roughly an equal number of sitcoms and dramas. It's just that dramas take twice as long to air, or in other words a 2:1 ratio. Which is exactly the new weekday schedule - 16 hours drama, 8 hours comedy. The weekends even out to that same ratio.
Although it's a little discouraging that out of the 18 new programs, only 3 were comedies. I hope this isn't an indication they are gonna start piling on the dramas which I sense none of us are too crazy about.
denny 09-21-2011, 12:49 PM Hey Pavan. A week ago you said some of the new shows coming to METV this fall were The Millionaire, the little rascals, the rebel, make room for daddy, that girl, etc. But I dont see any mention of these shows on their web site. Are they coming later in October. The only place I could see them going is in the late night schedule, replacing shows like combat and 12oclock high. Any news.

Starting Monday METV will start airing Kojak and Rockford files it could be that antennatv does not have exclusive contact where the NBCU Shows could air on more then one channel like for example the Waltons air on 3 different channels
born2late 10-02-2011, 11:41 PM No Me TV for me. The map shows it's in Memphis and Chattanooga, but not Nashville. :(
BigManMike 10-03-2011, 09:22 AM Thanks for telling me. Glad to see it's finally coming to Memphis in November. It says its coming to WLMT which is CW on 30.1 and RTV on 30.2. It must be replacing RTV. The only problem is, it shares the night spot with stupid MyNetwork TV.

Im in the same boat. I live in Connecticut and nothing yet.
djblaze 10-06-2011, 06:46 PM After getting a bigger antenna , I now can receive ME-TV via OTA from Providence , RI (55 miles away on WJAR 10.2) . So for those of you in Conneticut , try to aim towards Providence and see what you can get. The new line-up appears to be good. I just don't like that WJAR shows their rebroadcast of the 7pm news at 9pm , so no Bob Newhart. After now watching THIS, Antenna , RTV , and now ME-TV , they all have good points and bad points . But overall its good to have choices . I have Directv and find myself watching the channels OTA more often .

That is a pretty stupid programming decision. First of all, who the hell is watching news that's already 2 hours old at 9 PM? If you get MeTV 10.2 then you're getting WJAR 10.1 too so unavailability is irrelevant. Lastly, the only people who even know about these channels are watching them for classic TV. Unless you have another local network that has Bob Newhart syndication rights that is lame.
Last Sunday they preempted Lucy and MASH on MeTV here in Pittsburgh for a freaking Penguins pre-season game. What a waste.
BigManMike 10-07-2011, 09:17 AM I don't get MeTV in Memphis until November, but what's weird is my local station airs Sanford and Son at the same time as Antenna TV.
BigManMike 10-26-2011, 09:58 AM I found out that the launch date for MeTV in Memphis is November 14. I wish Me Too would go national. I actually looks better than MeTV. It has some of the same shows as MeTV and Antenna TV and it also has some more as well. Check out the schedule:

born2late 10-26-2011, 11:57 AM I would love to see 77 Sunset Strip and M Squad, and some of the older shows, but The Nanny and Rosanne, no way. Don't know why these classic channels put them in their line up. You're lucky to be getting ME-TV in Memphis, Nashville is clueless, as usual. :(

MeToo was supposed to launch in Milwaukee by last March, but there hasn't been a peep about it since the announcement was made almost a year ago. Instead, they put the "Bounce" network in its place. So I'm guessing the prospects for a national MeToo are slim to none.
bossradio93 10-27-2011, 10:52 AM I found out that the launch date for MeTV in Memphis is November 14.
Probably the same day Me-TV returns to the San Francisco Bay Area on KOFY-TV (20.2) if projections are correct. Me-TV was on a station in Santa Rosa, CA should know KFTY Channel 50 (now KEMO)* was in the process of being sold to Una Ves Mas. KOFY has a far better reach and serves nine areas in S.F.
*KEMO was the original name of KOFY-TV Channel 20 when the station signed-on the air April 1, 1968.
TVFactFan 10-27-2011, 05:38 PM I'm willing to bet that once I do get Me-tv all the shows on there now will be GONE and it will be a whole new lineup from 8pm to 10pm. Probably the Nanny and Golden Girls
janet42 03-07-2012, 07:32 PM I just got me-tv it's great! :)
MRPITT 03-09-2012, 02:07 PM I saw that METV is having a Green Hornet marathon on St Patricks Day they are showing 8 episodes.
jehobden 03-18-2012, 05:28 PM I am happy to report that ME-TV is now up and running in the DFW, TX area on KTXD-TV, channel 47. This station was running all infomercials for awhile, but early Saturday morning I found that it is now running the full ME-TV schedule. I am now watching one of the last two original episodes of Petticoat Junction, and I have been watching other great classic shows like Car 54 and That Girl. This station beats out TV Land anyday!
mets82 03-18-2012, 08:07 PM I was wondering if ME-TV will ever stop airing paid programming? It still does on WSAH out of Bridgeport Conn.

Well, the news here is not all good yet. KTXD-TV started airing informercials and religious programming at about midnight this morning, so it is not carrying the full ME-TV schedule at this time, though it is running ME-TV promos in between programs, so I expect ME-TV programming to resume sometime this morning or afternoon.

I've also seen a lot of times either they or the cable guides get a lot of episodes wrong, and not just on "That Girl" either.
eng51squad51 03-21-2012, 02:58 PM I was wondering if ME-TV will ever stop airing paid programming? It still does on WSAH out of Bridgeport Conn.
METV doesn't Air Paid Programing your Local METV affilate my just carry METV part time. METV air classic TV all day and all night.
MichaelKeith 03-21-2012, 04:26 PM MRPITT, I saw two of those Green Hornet episodes here in Houston on comcast who now carries METV. Wow, the Green Hornet is great. I like it much better than Batman, which was much more cartoonish. Love watching Bruce Lee do the martial arts moves. Wish they'd add this to their primetime linup. I emailed METV to ask them to consider it.
ajgenard 03-22-2012, 03:08 AM The Green Hornet is one of the few programs on MeTV's roster that they reserve for very occasional airings. The only other time I know they aired it was a marathon they held to coincide with the release of that crappy Green Hornet film with Seth Rogan last year. And that was really soon after the national channel launched so I doubt many people could even view it. Another show on their reserve list I wish they'd bump up to the regular schedule is The Lucy Show. They should trade off some of their drama/western programming for half-hour shows.
atwtbb 03-22-2012, 08:55 AM There are 3 new tv's in my house. Two are about 3 months old and one is about a year and a half. The two newest will pick up ME-TV, and at first the other one would get RTV and SoapNet but they vanished and now the new tv's ME-TV is in and out... I don't know why...is ME-TV not a free channel, or just free for people without cable??? The same station that brings ME-TV has a weather channel that the older new TV wont pick up either. I love my Petticoat Junction in the mornings!

Just in case there's anyone else out there who lives in the Chico/Redding, California market: a message on my cable box this morning stated that Comcast will be adding MeTV (KRCR-DT, channel 7.2) to area systems on channel 197 on or before April 17th.

Congrats Solomon. I wish mine would add the digital channel for Me-Tv. I get it off a basic channel but they only air about 50% of their programming.

Wait, I'm confused now. You have Me-tv on digital through an antenna and don't get to see all the shows?

No I get it off cable through one of our local channels. They air Infomercials , Religious Programming and ME-TV programming. Their digital channel though has the entire ME-TV schedule but I don't get that channel. I can't get any channels with an antenna. lol

Gumby and Mr. Magoo are a good beginning since I used to watch it every morning at 8:00am on KCOP Channel 13 Los Angeles, a once mighty independent station. Great to know Mr. Magoo will air on Me-TV. I don't know from what period since I saw him on KTLA in the 1970's. When the station returned from commercial breaks, they would superimpose an outline drawing of Magoo against a kaleidoscope background, letting kids know it's back to the show.

Ah yes the good old days of Souther California T.V.!
Me-TV is now available on Comcast systems in the Chico/Redding, CA market on channel 197 via KRCR DT 2. I'm getting my first taste of the channel today.
bossradio93 04-19-2012, 07:59 AM It's been announced Me-TV will be hooking up with a station in Bishop, CA. That along with KDOC-TV (56.3), Anaheim, CA will join forces as Me-TV Hollywood. KBBC changed its call-letters to KVME and will become the affiliate for the Inyo/Inyo County area on April 30.

I also read that Directv will add it to their lineup.

I forgot to mention that. Good call! Dish Network will add the station as part of the package.
magglio 04-27-2012, 01:55 PM I wish they would bring Me-TV to the Dallas-FT. Worth area. They have antenna tv which is great, but Me-TV seems to offer more programming selections.
Hazel Anyday 04-27-2012, 02:03 PM I agree, I would love to have Me-TV in my area (D.C.) too. What's infuriating is they've added "Bounce" tv to 2 different channels, & some channels have even stopped carrying their 3rd channel programming. Meaning instead of adding ME-TV to stations I get the absolutely useless Bounce and instead of replacing one station's 3rd channel with Me-TV it just goes dead. Me-TV possibilities have come and gone but nothing but bounce and blank screens. ME-TV we need you here!
Hazel Anyday 04-27-2012, 02:09 PM Also, related. I get RTV & Antenna TV. RTV now is so awful it isn't worth talking about again. But Antenna TV is good, but the problem is they keep running the same shows over and over. The same series are running that they ran when they started up. Ant TV needs to bring more VINTAGE '50's and '60's TV shows to their line-up and give a rest to some that they've run to death re: Flying Nun, Monkees, Too Close For Comfort, Maude, the whole '70's line up, and Circus Boy. They need more westerns to replace Circus Boy and the former Rin Tin Tin (which is now replaced by awful modern computer generated "childrens programs"). Throw all that awful modern kids shows off and replace them with vintage TV, even vintage kids TV shows would be nice if you insist on kids shows. How about Yogi Bear or Superman/Batman/Aquaman? I would love to be able to program that channel. I can think of so many possibilites that are now going to waste.

It's a good thing I get the 56.3 channel via Antenna because the MeTV being shown on Directv 20 seems to go off air from 5:30am-8:00am.
