CBS'powerhouse "The Young and the Restless" (the first half or second half)and fell by the wayside-in other words,were cancelled.This was in the 1970's,and 1980's,in the days before ABC and NBC gave up on game shows.Name some of them.

When The Young and the Restless debuted in 1973, the soap opera's game show competition was the Art Fleming hosted Jeopardy and The Who, What or Where Game on NBC and the 70s version of Password and Split Second on ABC. Other shows that went against the CBS soap included the following:

And,it's a shame,too.Some(not all )of the game shows that ABC and NBC pitted against "The Young and the Restless"were very good.And,when it went up against "The Young and the Restless",ironically,NBC moved "Jeopardy",(then hosted by the late Art Fleming)from its comfortable Noon/11 AM Central timeslot,back to 1:30 pm/12:30 pm. its original timeslot in 1964.
