View Full Version : Your Predictions For 2011? catlover79 12-29-2010, 06:27 AM I love this annual thread - although sleep deprived me can't think of any predictions right now! Who's next? MrCleveland 12-29-2010, 07:58 AM I Predict that... ...Obama will praise someone that shouldn't be praised. ...Jimmy Carter, Billy Graham, and Aretha Franklin will be the few celebrity deaths this year. ...Some big business will be in trouble with the law. ...Cleveland will not...I REPEAT...will not win a Championship! ...The recession will be over, but not in the areas near Detroit. ...Dick Clark will do The New Years Eve Celebration. catlover79 12-29-2010, 01:47 PM I think the Cleveland thing is a no-brainer!! - Sadly, I predict that if Lindsay Lohan doesn't get her act together for good, she'll be another statistic. - I predict that Abe Vigoda will host an episode of SNL. - I predict that somehow Obama will manage to convince the Baseball HOF to induct Pete Rose. MickeyMac 12-29-2010, 02:20 PM I predict that 2011 will be a blessed year for everyone here. I Dont give a sh*t about celebrity predictions (nothing personal). old grouch 12-29-2010, 02:40 PM The Obamas will go on vacation. Reality shows will see a decline. More great classic sitcoms will be released on DVD. ZeldaGilroy 12-29-2010, 03:22 PM I predict that 2011 will be a blessed year for everyone here. That is an awesome prediction Mickey! I am going to go with this prediction as well! :) Retro4Life 12-29-2010, 03:34 PM 1) The nation's economy will continue to slump, though pundits will loudly try to convince everyone that things are getting better. The unemployment rate will remain high, at 9 percent or more. 2) There will be a serious challenge to Facebook from a rival social network. 3) The world will be stunned upon learning that someone has finally used texting for something useful, like summoning help or finding directions, instead of informing people what they just ate, how bored they are, or where the party is tonight. 4) Scientists, in a desperate, last ditch effort to ward off use of the word "amazing", will implant nano technology in everyone that will trigger when the word is used, and pump the "Trololo" video into the head of the user. Usage will fall almost immediately. 5) The planet Earth, battered by a year of extreme flooding, hurricanes, earthquakes and depressed by ongoing wars, nuclear proliferation, pandemic alerts and global recession, will flee to the edge of the galaxy for a much needed break. It will not leave a forwarding address, and it will not leave it's cell phone on. But it will check it's email every Wednesday. 6) Oprah's next book will once again be a record best seller, though not a single human being will read it all the way through. 7) The time between the original film and the reboot will continue to decrease, culminating in one horrible incident where a studio will release a reboot of a film that hasn't even been made yet. 8) The importance of History will continue to decline in school curriculums, resulting in a new, streamlined class called "Stuff that Happened Yesterday". 9) The number of TV channels I receive will continue to go up. My amount of interest in them will continue to decline. 10) The great folks at Sitcoms Online will have a wonderful year; they deserve it! :) MrCleveland 12-29-2010, 04:20 PM I predict that 2011 will be a blessed year for everyone here. Thanks...and for that I apologize for being a sad sack. Many people gave me blessings for next year and one thing is that I'm going to be an uncle by March 15th...give or take. Nighthawk76 12-29-2010, 04:26 PM I predict that 2011 will be a blessed year for everyone here. I Dont give a sh*t about celebrity predictions (nothing personal). Thanks, Mickey! I hope that 2011 will be a great year for you as well. :) Frankly, nothing against anyone here, but I'm really tired of hearing about how bad Obama is. Is Obama doing as good of a job as many of us hoped? He certainly isn't. I think he has some of the wrong people working for him. However, let's not forget that he inherited much of this country's problems from Gerorge W. Bush. When I was laid off I recall Bush being president and not Obama. When I was laid off I recall Bush being president and not Obama. Truthfully...we haven't had a strong leader since 1988! Nighthawk76 12-29-2010, 04:39 PM Truthfully...we haven't had a strong leader since 1988! Well, Clinton did have his moments but I do agree that Reagan was our last truly good president. Miss Lisa 12-29-2010, 04:42 PM Thanks, Mickey! I hope that 2011 will be a great year for you as well. :) Frankly, nothing against anyone here, but I'm really tired of hearing about how bad Obama is. However, let's not forget that he inherited much of this country's problems from Gerorge W. Bush. When I was laid off I recall Bush being president and not Obama. This is true, but I would go back even further than Bush. I think Clinton is a big part of it. Anyone remember something called NAFTA??? I guess he didn't realize that when people overseas manufature and then send their goods and everyone here buys them, that companies here go out of business because instead of buying things here, we're too busy buying things from China. I think theres also the banks to blame with lending out money that they knew the people couldn't afford to pay back and all that stuff. Anyways, my predictions....... 1)Entertainment will yet again become crappier. 2)100 more Hollywood couples that were "meant to be" will divorce after less than five years of marriage. 3)Something else will be made illegal for kids, which will cause that product to be used more often by kids because it is made illegal 4)Taxes will be raised because the government officials will find even more made up job titles for their relatives that need jobs. 5) And even though this most likely means nothing to any of you, I'm going to get a boyfriend Hope everyone has a happy 2011! I also lost a job when Bush was President. It happened on a Friday. I went home, made one phone call to a company that had been trying to get me to go work for them for some time. I told the new company that I had some time off, and could I meet with them during the following week. I went there Monday, and left with a job offer for 10 grand a year more than I made in my previous job. They never even knew I was out of work. Not only that, but the company I left paid me my same salary for 3 months after I left. One big difference between losing a job when Bush was President and losing a job now is that if you lose a job now, there aren't a bunch of other jobs waiting for you to walk right into. And it's being done purposefully by this guy in the White House. People didn't need two years to find a job when Bush was President. And Obama's only answer to the employment problem is to extend unemployment "benefits". Miss Lisa 12-29-2010, 10:28 PM I also lost a job when Bush was President. It happened on a Friday. And Obama's only answer to the employment problem is to extend unemployment "benefits". True. He's only concerned about the minority groups out there, special groups rights. All those groups though can be put into one group, its called the working class. in my opinion we need more manufacturing jobs. Janice 12-29-2010, 10:57 PM The unemployment rate hovered around 5 and 6% when Bush was President. Obama sucks as President. A total disgrace. So many libs who will probably live with mom and dad until they die will always find a reason to reason to blame a conservative. Nighthawk76 12-30-2010, 07:59 PM The unemployment rate hovered around 5 and 6% when Bush was President. Obama sucks as President. A total disgrace. So many libs who will probably live with mom and dad until they die will always find a reason to reason to blame a conservative. Its a shame that I don't live with my parents anymore. However, that doesn't change anything. The economy bottomed out under Bush, not Obama. True, Obama hasn't really solved the problems but none the less they started with Bush. MickeyMac 12-30-2010, 08:09 PM I think we should go back to making predections, and save the politics for the politics thread. Nighthawk76 12-30-2010, 08:11 PM I think we should go back to making predections, and save the politics for the politics thread. I agree, Mickey! :) MickeyMac 12-30-2010, 08:17 PM I predict more and more people will get into good old fashioned records. Janice 12-30-2010, 09:46 PM Its a shame that I don't live with my parents anymore. However, that doesn't change anything. The economy bottomed out under Bush, not Obama. True, Obama hasn't really solved the problems but none the less they started with Bush. I wasn't even referring to you, but whatever you say about getting your own place. I'm sure you wouldn't mention it here. And whatever that fraud Obama inherited he made 100 times worse. Nothing's improved under his leadership. Nothing. Nighthawk76 12-30-2010, 11:38 PM I predict more and more people will get into good old fashioned records. One of our radio stations played the original 1969 record of Led Zeppelin and it was interesting to hear it the way everyone back then heard it. MrCleveland 12-31-2010, 01:02 AM Hi obamalover, welcome to SO. As you know, we usually don't talk about Politics on this page, it just went a little off-topic. obamalover 12-31-2010, 01:18 AM Hi obamalover, welcome to SO. As you know, we usually don't talk about Politics on this page, it just went a little off-topic. Ah, I see. Keep chit-chat just for chit-chat. That's a good rule.;) Janice 12-31-2010, 01:20 AM Hi obamalover, welcome to SO. As you know, we usually don't talk about Politics on this page, it just went a little off-topic. And it ends here. Any further political discussion takes place on the Politic's board. catlover79 12-31-2010, 03:28 PM AI's ratings will take a swan dive without Simon Cowell, and the producers will scramble to try to get him back. Mr. Television 12-31-2010, 03:34 PM AI's ratings will take a swan dive without Simon Cowell, and the producers will scramble to try to get him back. but they won't and AI will have a slow painful death. OH Nuts! 12-31-2010, 03:34 PM I predict: 1. Whoopi Goldberg will continue to make dumb remarks on TV 2. The NYC MTA will continue to suck bigtime 3. SO will continue to be a great site (for starters) catlover79 12-31-2010, 03:50 PM but they won't and AI will have a slow painful death. We can only hope!!!! :D :D :D :D :D browneyes106 12-31-2010, 04:46 PM Here are my predictions they are entertainment related In 2011, more people will be turning towards dramas on basic and preminum cable. Grey's Anatomy, SVU, NCIS, CSI, Criminal Minds and other shows will start to lose viewers and gritter shows on cable will start to get more mainstream attention. When the 2011 Emmys roll around cable shows and their actors/actresses will dominate over broadcast networks and their casts. Only a few actors and actresses from broadcast networks will get nominations but they will be people that are deserving. Some of the actors and actresses who are overrated will finally get pushed out of the Emmys for good. The Skins remake on MTV will bomb. ESPN will begin financing more documentaries because of the 30 for 30 success. The Documentary Channel will get more success and financial backing. Scream 4 will do good at the box office opening weekend. Better written comedies will be hitting theaters. TJL 12-31-2010, 05:24 PM Every celebrity that is married will get divorced, all single celebrities will get married: the entire TMZ staff will collapse from all the extra work. That sports team you love will frustrate the crap out of you. Several of the freed Chilean miners, after realizing what it's like to live as an industrial worker in Chile, will ask to be buried in the mine again. One or more Kardashians will be elected to public office. Hundreds of lives will continue to be put in danger unless someone steps in and ends the madness. I'm of course referring to the Spider-Man musical. Happy New Year. ;) waichingliu81 12-31-2010, 08:37 PM AI will bomb without simon cowell, hence it signals the end of that show this year or in 2012 we will hopefully see a resurgence in sitcoms- i do hope it happens because 00s there was a decline in the sitcom genre. i think all it takes is 2, 3 sitcoms to get the ball rolling and it should be ok afterwards. sitcoms online will still be a great site as always! :) catlover79 01-02-2011, 02:58 AM I predict that LeBron James will still keep mouthing off - this time to the wrong person/organization, and will get sued. Maybe he'll even lose an endorsement deal or two. PZelda 01-02-2011, 03:55 AM I predict that my old bedroom TV circa 1997 will finally die, and I'll finally upgrade to a new LED TV. I'll FINALLY make it back to NYC again for another visit. Maybe I'll finally start dating again. This is the year that I turn 26... a dating life before I'm 30 would be nice. catlover79 01-02-2011, 02:59 PM One or more Kardashians will be elected to public office. Scary.   MrCleveland 01-02-2011, 03:12 PM I predict that LeBron James will still keep mouthing off - this time to the wrong person/organization, and will get sued. Maybe he'll even lose an endorsement deal or two. And LeButthead as well as The Heat collapse in the playoffs against The Celtics. Ans Kanye West will open his mouth too and this time it gets to him BIG time! Nighthawk76 01-02-2011, 05:30 PM The Illinois economy will get worse thanks to our terrible Governor Pat Quinn. catlover79 01-02-2011, 11:31 PM Hundreds of lives will continue to be put in danger unless someone steps in and ends the madness. I'm of course referring to the Spider-Man musical. That show is hazardous to the health of everyone involved - it's doomed!!   Waterston_Fan 01-03-2011, 11:47 AM TJ, I don't know how to tell you this but.... One of the predictions came true already in 2010.. Crimson and Clover 01-04-2011, 12:17 AM I'll FINALLY make it back to NYC again for another visit. Me too. catlover79 01-15-2011, 03:41 PM I predict that LeBron James will still keep mouthing off - this time to the wrong person/organization, and will get sued. Maybe he'll even lose an endorsement deal or two. Well, he's already made stupid remarks about the Cavs losing and "karma" () so far in 2011, but hasn't been sued - YET. MickeyMac 01-15-2011, 06:10 PM I predict I will hit more record stores in various parts of Michigan this year. JamesG 01-18-2011, 05:32 AM The Skins remake on MTV will bomb. I didn't see it but my sister did. She is a regular watcher of "Jersey Shore" and they decided to air the premiere after a new episode of it (smart move to get MTV's biggest audience to stick around to watch). Her and all of her friends called the US "Skins" sh*t. She told me that they all started blasting the show on their Facebook pages saying that it was garbage and that the U.K. version is 10x better than this. My sis told me that it was "one of the weirdest shows that I've ever watched". From us that is saying something because we're all used to weird over here. catlover79 01-22-2011, 12:08 AM I predict I will hit more record stores in various parts of Michigan this year. Hey, that prediction could be any year. :D catlover79 12-29-2011, 01:34 AM I predict more and more people will get into good old fashioned records. Yup, 2011 did see a resurgence in vinyl (and cassettes!). I saw several stories about it on the news. catlover79 12-29-2011, 01:37 AM And LeButthead as well as The Heat collapse in the playoffs against The Celtics. YES...but to the Mavs. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That was one of the most beautiful moments of 2011. :D PZelda 12-31-2011, 11:01 AM I predict that my old bedroom TV circa 1997 will finally die, and I'll finally upgrade to a new LED TV. I'll FINALLY make it back to NYC again for another visit. Maybe I'll finally start dating again. This is the year that I turn 26... a dating life before I'm 30 would be nice. My TV is still a-goin', and I haven't upgraded yet. I didn't date at all in 2011. I did, however, make it back to NYC. And LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT OMG. |
