Neil Patrick Harris has suggested that there will be more story arcs in the new season of How I Met Your Mother.
The actor, who plays Barney, told Entertainment Tonight that the show will return to having longer plots.
"Last year, How I Met Your Mother was a bunch of standalone episodes," he explained. "We're filling out our syndication quota - now we're going to be on every day on some channels - so we wanted to hark back to bigger storylines with the characters."
He continued: "I think it'll be a fun season to watch because once you invest in the beginning of it, it'll pay off by the end."
How I Met Your Mother returns on Monday at 8/7c on CBS.
