Years ago, when I was in the fifth grade (circa 1980), one of my classmates told me there was an episode wherein somebody played a practical joke on Maude. This person (I am not sure who it was...it may have been Walter) gave her a book. When Maude opened the book, she received an eletrical shock. I assume the book was an item from a novelty store. I can't remember if my friend indicated when he saw the episode (during the original CBS run of Maude, or if he caught the episode as a rerun).

Did such an episode exist? Did this event really take place? If so, what was the title of the episode, who gave her the book, and under what circumstances?
