It's neat that Almanzo was from Malone, NY. My great-grandfather was born & raised there and was close to Laura's age.

Sorry, this post looks confusing to someone who only watched the YT link posted above. Here is the YT clip that my comment referenced, from Dean Butler's personal appearance last year at Heritage Hill in Wisconsin:

I noticed the Closed Captioned logo at the beginning of the promo. I believe
the 1980-81 television season was the first season network television began
utilizing Closed Captioning for the hearing impaired.

Thanks for the link Monika! It was nice seeing that. I was around in 1980 but I was too young to appreciate stuff like this being that I was three years old and all. LOL.

I know what you mean, Thomas. I was 1!!! It wasn't until the late 80s/early 90s that I started to love the show in syndication, and then watched the DVDs as an adult. It really is a timeless show!! :D

I'm really starting to feel old!! I was actually around to watch the show during it's original run starting in 1974! (I turned 10 that year)

Melissa Gilbert was also 10 when Little House began airing on NBC

Yup!! One of the most natural child actresses ever. Same goes for Melissa Anderson and Alison Arngrim.
