To have a number one hit?HINT:It WASN'T The Beatles,The Rolling Stones,or ,any of the OTHER mid 1960's "British Invasion" acts, and was an instrumental called "Telstar".Degree of Dificulty-very hard.

The first number one song by a British performer was Acker Bilk with "Stranger On The Shore" in the summer of 1962.

Being a huge Joe Meek fan, I own this on vinyl. And according to Wiki, it is the first British single to have hit number on the US charts.
