Barbara's mom then marries Mark's dad... Hence Mark and Barbara are both husband & wife and also step brother and sister. Tell the truth, as much as I like Bonnie Franklin and Howard Hesseman as actors - I never bought them as a couple, especially since their kids were already married to each other. There was just no chemistry there, and I think if Ann were ever to remarry, it should've been in the series finale. P.S.
