Yes, this was a great show.....a bit of dark humour if i remember correctly....
mamamiasweetpeaches 02-01-2002, 01:48 PM I LOOOVED IT!!!!!I thought it was a very original premise at the time:the kid and his mothers boyfriend tryin to zing eachother. Good show, fond memories of it!!
80sTrivia 06-09-2002, 08:35 PM I soooo loved this show when it aired!!! It was one of those fantastic shows that could have turned into a classic if only the wretched network had given it the opportunity to grow. Jason Bateman was brilliant as the snarky kid, he should have won an Emmy!!! I'd give anything to see an episode of this show again!!!
ThomasE 11-03-2002, 02:17 AM I wish this were back on the air. It help define the 80's. I am very fortunate to have copies of the series from original NBC and USA airings.
irongron 01-04-2003, 02:08 PM Just wondering if anyone knows if this show has been released on VHS or DVD. If not does anyone have suggestions on where to acquire copies of this show?
Thanks

I have all episodes on tape. NBC recordings. Some of the quality has been lost, though.
FBMcFLY 02-17-2003, 02:20 AM This was one of the most underated shows in TV history. I agree the Batman & Garrison characters were classics!
Harry S. Anchan 03-17-2003, 04:23 PM I have 12 of them.
Regards.
Harry S. Anchan 03-17-2003, 04:24 PM Oops, You're gonna laugh...!
My list is:

I have them listed according to the opening scene, as it is easier to keep track of.
"It's Your Move" is one of the most underrated, fabulous shows in the history of TV. But the idiot Nielsen families and network execs didn't get the drift:( As usual!
dandelion wine 02-05-2005, 05:10 AM Underrated and very funny show from what I remember.
Sure would be nice to see it back on the air somewhere.

TJ you crack me up, I was saying to myself when I saw the total number of eps for this show which is 18, why would it have it's on Message board. And then I said to myself, This must be one of TJ's favorite shows and when i saw this post I was right-LOL I mean how much discusssion can you have with only 18 eps?-LOL
Brian Damage 09-12-2005, 10:23 AM I don't know if it is TJ's favorite, but he was copy and pasting other posters thoughts on the show.

I have to find out later what the show went up against in the fall of 1984 because I'm hearing so many good things about it but it didn;t last a full season. That's why i'm kind of anxious for the eps to arrive in the mail so I can see what everyone is talking about.
PavlovsDog 12-21-2014, 12:59 PM I believe it went up against Dynasty, which would not have helped.
I remember watching this in the UK on BBC1 as a kid, I am about 4 years younger than Bateman, so I remember seeing the character of Matthew Burton as a bit of a hero.
plmkr88 08-02-2016, 11:41 PM perhaps one of the most underrated sitcoms of all time. it was clever and funny.
Heenan Fan 06-15-2019, 01:55 PM Very underrated. Jason was great, great cast all around. River Phoenix (RIP) was in at least 1 episode as Bateman's buddy.
Hawkee 08-20-2019, 05:13 AM It's weird and surprising that out of all the 80's sitcoms that air in reruns now It's Your Move has never been seen on any retro sitcom channels in a long time and I have never figured it out. Was It's Your Move not very popular or is it because it didn't have enough episodes for stations to air in reruns? Because with Jason Bateman now a successful actor in movies It's Your Move should be aired on Antenna TV or even METV because it's a hugely underrated show of the 80's and Zootopia fans would love seeing the character Nick Wilde as a human. I think out of all the Michael G. Moye created sitcoms It's Your Move deserves to be seen in reruns again
