My memory might be playing tricks on me - did UM ever air a case in which an abducted (young?) woman managed to escape her kidnapper and phone police from a restaurant, rest stop, or something like that? It may have been some other show.

Not sure if its the same one you're talking about, but I remember America's Most Wanted had a case where a young blonde woman escaped and went frantically knocking on houses in the neighborhood. I believe they eventually caught the guy but I'm not 100%. I can't remember anything else about it.

She told him she had to use the restroom and while back there she begged someone that worked there to call the police and I believe that was how she escaped.

Well the scene you're referring to was part of the original segment. There was an update though where he was apprehended and received a lengthy prison term.
