No offense to any Marsha Warfield fans, but I feel she was too unfunny for my liking. BTW, I think Selma was the best!

View Full Version : Does Anybody Agree that Roz was the Weakest and Unfunniest of the Female Baliffs? Brian Damage 02-20-2010, 10:31 PM No offense to any Marsha Warfield fans, but I feel she was too unfunny for my liking. BTW, I think Selma was the best! Marvo301 02-20-2010, 10:48 PM To me Florence Kleiner played by Florence Halop was the least funny of the female Baliffs. Chocolate Moose 02-21-2010, 12:26 AM Selma WAS the best. MikeLutton 02-21-2010, 06:52 PM i liked roz the best i thought she was great my favorite bailiff bull was ok but he barley made me laugh cpmaz 03-08-2010, 01:50 AM No offense to any Marsha Warfield fans, but I feel she was too unfunny for my liking. BTW, I think Selma was the best! I thought Marsha Warfield was the best of the bailiffs, Bull included. Selma and Florence were great, but they were one-note characters (maybe two notes, if you count "old" and "crotchety" as separate characteristics). Bull was more well-rounded as a character, but wasn't the creative equal of the other characters on the show. Roz was funny (so were the others) but Marsha Warfield could bring out better performances from the other performers, especially John Larroquette. MikeLutton 03-10-2010, 06:10 AM that why i can not wait until season 4 roz debuts i feel bad for florence dying though it would been funny seenign them try to work together lol storrs19 03-16-2010, 08:47 AM I liked Roz the best of all of them but probably because I didn't really start watching Night Court every week until Season 4. I liked what I saw of Selma though on the dvd's. I just wish they had done more with her character. I loved her line in the hospital where she says "Fine! I'll be sitting in the street." when the doctor tells her she can't smoke in the hallway or in the lounge, LOL! Sometimes a show can have too many characters. I think Night Court was one of those shows at times as was Barney Miller. When you have a lot of cast members it can be difficult not to kind of neglect one of them to just a few lines per show. Just my opinion though. JAlanRuss72 04-16-2010, 05:10 PM I liked them all, but for some reason Florence made me laugh the most (even though her character wasn't as developed). Something about her voice and the one-liners together was a riot. Roz was ok, she filled the void with some nice sarcasm. Selma probably had the best developed character (for the short time she was on the show). JMO markaleen 03-11-2011, 11:59 PM I liked Selma the best too. Roz was pretty funny but a different kind of funny. ekkostar 03-12-2011, 09:28 PM Roz was awesome. They needed a tough girl character to balance out Christine's prudish ultra femininity. I've been watching the 1990-1992 episodes, something I rarely do because those episodes are of lower quality. I noticed that all of a sudden Dan and Harry had softened entirely too much and suddenly Roz, Christine and the other two (The weird steno and Bull's wife) from season 9 had taken over the strong roles. I also liked seasons 1 and 2 when Selma was around. Some of the best gags involved her long-winded stories in which all the other characters would slowly leave as she told it. McGillicuddy 03-12-2011, 11:28 PM I think Florence was my favorite, too. Bit NO WAY was Roz weak or unfunny. 70s show watcher 03-13-2011, 12:19 AM i didnt really dislike roz but i thought a little of her went a very long way ekkostar 06-14-2011, 08:59 PM Ha ha! The more I watch Night Court the more I like Roz. My favorite of her episodes is the one where she teaches Dan to dance. HHorseman 06-23-2011, 10:33 PM Roz was the only Baliff I did think was funny Dan was awesome he could always make me laugh and Christine was a total hottie. |
