I don't remember where, but I vaguely remember hearing that they did find him, and I think he got the reward money, but don't quote me on that...I may be wrong. :) Big3sCompanyFan 02-02-2010, 12:45 PM Did Alejandro Espinoza ever get the reward money for helping the police capture the nightstalker Ramirez? did he actually die like it was alluded to in the UM broadcast? Did WHO die?? And how did they suggest he died? sdb4884 08-11-2010, 12:29 PM Did Richard Ramirez get the death penalty? Drakken 08-11-2010, 03:03 PM Did Richard Ramirez get the death penalty? Hell yeah. Plenty of times. He is still on death row, though, and still married to her serial killer groupie. He will probably sit there for a long, long while as California is notoriously very slow in applying the death penalty. sdb4884 08-12-2010, 01:17 AM Hell yeah. Plenty of times. Thanks Drakken, interesting that this case was more about finding the tip off person than the Nightstalker. Anyone else know if Espinoza was found? Drakken 08-26-2010, 11:19 AM Thanks Drakken, interesting that this case was more about finding the tip off person than the Nightstalker. Anyone else know if Espinoza was found? From what I searched, it remains still unsolved. Since Robert Stack mentions that he might have been dead, chances are that his family received the money instead. sdb4884 01-31-2011, 12:49 AM Just watched a show about the night stalker on serial killer Sunday on CI, no mention of Espinoza tipping off the police or anything, guess his testimony wasn't really public knowledge. Big3sCompanyFan 04-28-2011, 09:24 PM Just watched a show about the night stalker on serial killer Sunday on CI, no mention of Espinoza tipping off the police or anything, guess his testimony wasn't really public knowledge. So is the Espinoza story just a myth?? It never really happened? The Nightstalker should've gotten the death penalty many times over by now! Since he's in California he'll probably never be executed or not until he's very old. With Jerry Brown as governor will there be any executions there at all?? crystaldawn 04-29-2011, 06:47 AM The last paragraph of this story states he was given a share of the reward so they must have found him. http://articles.latimes.com/1989-10-25/local/me-694_1_mission-viejo justins5256 04-29-2011, 02:11 PM The last paragraph of this story states he was given a share of the reward so they must have found him. http://articles.latimes.com/1989-10-25/local/me-694_1_mission-viejo Good find. One thing I find odd though. The article is from October 25, 1989. Espinoza's story first aired on UM in February 1990. I wonder if the article is incorrect about them issuing the reward to Espinoza. Or, perhaps the story had already been filmed and edited, so they showed it anyway - if that were the case, you would think they would do an update or at least pull the story from syndication. I remember seeing it on Lifetime many times without any sort of update. Weird. crystaldawn 04-30-2011, 09:22 PM Good find. One thing I find odd though. The article is from October 25, 1989. Thats going to be a tough one to find out I'm afraid. sdb4884 05-01-2011, 02:24 AM The last paragraph of this story states he was given a share of the reward so they must have found him. http://articles.latimes.com/1989-10-25/local/me-694_1_mission-viejo Well done on finding that article, still as Stack would have said it raises more questions than answers. Victoria81 08-11-2011, 10:59 AM Well done on finding that article, still as Stack would have said it raises more questions than answers. It still says unsolved on the segment :/ I would assume the guy was scared to come forward! I would be. justins5256 08-11-2011, 11:11 AM It still says unsolved on the segment :/ I would assume the guy was scared to come forward! I would be. Well, I could understand him possibly being nervous at first, but after Ramirez was arrested and eventually convicted, he would have little to fear. IIRC, Stack mentioned that the police thought it possible that Espinoza might be deceased. My gut feeling is that they are correct - why else publicize that tidbit? That being said, his family (if they are still alive) may be unaware that Espinoza provided this information to the police and therefore unaware of the existence of the reward that they could rightfully claim. The fact that Espinoza knew a guy like Ramirez and snitched on him might not be information he shared with a lot of people or anyone. xxxxmattxxxx69 08-11-2011, 11:27 AM From what I have read not only is Alejandro Espinoza missing but his family can't be located. I think he's dead honestly Victoria81 08-11-2011, 11:33 AM From what I have read not only is Alejandro Espinoza missing but his family can't be located. I think he's dead honestly The segment that yesterday said that he may have had a wife and child and nothing else. I wonder why Stack's verion is so different? Seems like this one would have mention him dead. Weird. xxxxmattxxxx69 08-11-2011, 12:52 PM The segment that yesterday said that he may have had a wife and child and nothing else. If there was an update before Stack died he'll pretty much air the same details unless it is solved after RS died. I honestly enjoy watching the Farina episodes where the interviewee is now deceased and was long before RS died(Jeremy Rolfs from the "Tom Johnson" case. He appeared in silhouette and only released his first name for the story.) Orgazmo 08-16-2011, 10:30 AM While the article (http://articles.latimes.com/1989-10-25/local/me-694_1_mission-viejo) is a great find, to be honest, it merely sounds like it's stating what reward is owed to Alejandro not that he has actually collected it. crystaldawn 08-16-2011, 12:15 PM While the article (http://articles.latimes.com/1989-10-25/local/me-694_1_mission-viejo) is a great find, to be honest, it merely sounds like it's stating what reward is owed to Alejandro not that he has actually collected it. Yes I have a feeling he was never found or if he was he didn't want it publicized. The Farina UM has been pretty good about updating cases and this was on last week and he didn't say anything about him being found. sdb4884 10-19-2011, 09:52 AM This case was recently shown again on the new Unsolved Mysteries and it is still open, no mention this time about Alejandro Espinoza possibly been dead. Victoria81 11-03-2014, 12:46 PM I still find it odd that they broadcast the guys name. I would be scared the Night Stalker had someone to come after my family. um, keep ya lousy 250,000 lol I rather my life. It was actually only 6,000 dollars, granted worth a lot more in 1985 but still, I'd be concerned he had friends to send after me. isotope 11-03-2014, 09:12 PM It was actually only 6,000 dollars, granted worth a lot more in 1985 but still, I'd be concerned he had friends to send after me. Ramirez was a lone psycho - the only "friends" he had were the small, pathetic collection of damaged women who fell in love with him for reasons I'm utterly unable to explain   MegtheEgg86 11-03-2014, 09:52 PM Ramirez was of Mexican descent, so I'd say it's pretty likely Alejandro Espinoza was as well if he was running around with him. I'm not sure what Espinoza's family situation was back in 1985, but does anyone think it's possible Alejandro might have simply went to Mexico to live for a time, or is even still living there? I understand that might be a bit of a stretch (and again, I don't know if Espinoza had substantial familial or work ties to Mexico or any other place at the time), but I guess it's something to consider. Victoria81 11-22-2014, 02:36 PM Yeah, I would go back to Mexico too. "Big Snitch" is not a fun nickname lol Mace Dolex 11-22-2014, 09:20 PM Yeah, I would go back to Mexico too. "Big Snitch" is not a fun nickname lol Because of course Mexico is a much safer place to be when hitmen are after you. Victoria81 11-23-2014, 10:00 AM EXACTLY!!! lmao Arnold_OldSchool 10-29-2017, 05:54 AM I am pretty stunned this one was still unsolved while binge watching UM on Amazon this morning. Seems like people in the neighborhood should know something. Maybe he was/is hiding due to a crime he doesn't want anyone digging into? |
