Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported.
Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property, FHP reported.
Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released.
FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph.

Oh My! My prayers are with him and his family...

Alcohol wasn't a factor
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Tiger Woods was injured in a car wreck early Friday near his Florida home, but was released from the hospital later in the day.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:25 a.m. ET. Woods was driving a 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle. No one else was in the car.
The highway patrol reported Woods' injuries as serious, though Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan said on Friday afternoon that the golfer was treated at the hospital and released in good condition.
The police report narrative said the "driver had just pulled out of the driveway at his residence ... as [vehicle] began to drive on Deacon Circle, [vehicle] struck a fire hydrant. The front of [vehicle] then struck a tree..."
The airbags in the car did not deploy, according to a report in the Orlando Sentinel. The newspaper said that airbags typically do not deploy if a vehicle is traveling less than 33 miles per hour.
Woods agent, Mark Steinberg, told USA Today that Woods is fine. Golf World magazine executive editor Ron Sirak said on ESPNEWS that Woods has "facial lacerations." Mayor Gary Bruhn of Windermere, Fla., where Woods lives, also said on CNN that Woods has facial lacerations.
The highway patrol says the crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending. However, the highway patrol said the crash was not alcohol-related.
Woods is scheduled to play in the Chevron World Challenge beginning Dec. 3 in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He last played two weeks ago in Australia, where he won the Australian Masters.
He won six times this year after missing eight months recovering from reconstructive surgery on his left knee. Even though he failed to win a major, Woods said he considered this a successful year because he did not know how his knee would respond.
Woods, who has won 82 times around the world and 14 majors, returned to his $2.4 million home in the exclusive Isleworth subdivision near Orlando earlier this week after attending the Stanford-Cal football game, where he tossed the coin at the start of the game and was inducted into Stanford's sports Hall of Fame at halftime.

Waterston_Fan 11-27-2009, 06:48 PM This report sounds fishy...
He was in serious condition then he's fine? That was a fast recovery...
And alcohol is not to blame but charges will be filed? What?
I don't know...
There are a lot of questions being raised.
When the Police arrived, Tiger was on the ground near the SUV in a semi conscious state, his wife "hovering over him" with a golf club in her hands.
Supposedly his wife heard the crash, raced outside and broke open the rear window of the SUV with a golf club to get Tiger out of the car.
Uh huh. Anyone else buing this?
;)
Schmoopie 11-28-2009, 03:39 AM OMG, I've only heard bits and pieces but just hearing that he struck a fire hydrant yet no alchohol or drugs were involved sounds fishy to me.
platinumblondelife 11-28-2009, 04:52 AM It's been rumored he's having an affair for a few weeks now..

catlover79 11-28-2009, 01:39 PM This whole thing does sound fishy to me. First he was seriously hurt, then he wasn't, then his wife smashes the windshield, etc. Sounds more like a soap opera.
On a different note, what is it with Cadillac Escalades and some of the people who drive them? A woman driving one (and immersed in a conversation on her cell phone ) totalled our parked car several weeks ago. ohno:
Janice 11-28-2009, 01:45 PM I never bought this story from the start. His wife had to smash his car window to get him out? I just laughed as I typed it.

I know. The only ones I feel sorry for are their kids. ohno:
Waterston_Fan 11-28-2009, 07:20 PM When does an agent become a lawyer?
I think they are trying to get his story straight or something because when police got there his wife said he was asleep..
If you guys did that, I don't think the police would just say, okay...
Now his agent says come by tomorrow..

Part of the story:
(CNN) -- State troopers arrived at the home of Tiger Woods on Saturday to interview the pro golfer and his wife about a car crash near his home, but were told the couple was not available to talk as scheduled, a spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The troopers were asked by Woods' agent to postpone the interview until Sunday, spokeswoman Kim Miller said.
State troopers had tried to speak to Woods on Friday as part of a routine car accident investigation, but his wife said he was sleeping, said Kim Miller, a spokeswoman for the Florida highway patrol.
Woods was treated and released from a hospital after suffering minor injuries in a car accident early Friday in his neighborhood in Windermere.
comedyfreak 11-28-2009, 09:02 PM Why do the police make it sound like he did something wrong?
Waterston_Fan 11-28-2009, 10:01 PM Why do the police make it sound like he did something wrong?
The thing is, they need to get his license, registration and stuff. Also since he knocked over a fire hydrant, they might need to pay for that.
Also, it is kinda fishy that when they first went to see him, his wife said he was sleeping...
Wouldn't the police ask you to wake up the person you want to talk to?
Then the next day, his agent says come tomorrow....
It's like if you get into a car accident or something like that they have to make sure the registration on the car is valid and your driver's license.

MonarC 12-15-2009, 11:13 AM Im so sick of hearing about Tiger everywhere, yet I can't look away. Looks like his wife is not wearing her huge diamond ring anymore. Possible break up after the holidays. I really feel bad for the little kids. Rumors also say that Child Protective Services visited the home recently. Sad story all around. Seems like Tiger is a sex addict.
Scoobiedoo30 12-15-2009, 12:20 PM Tiger Woods Wife was out with out her wedding Band

I feel sorry for the kids, too. Just one more example that money can't buy happiness - or family stability. ohno:
MonarC 12-16-2009, 12:36 AM Ya know what I really think happened? He took his Vicoden or whatever and was all chill. His wife got his cell and found some text messages from another chic or possibly more than one chic. That started a huge arguement. tiger tried to flee even thought he was screwed up on pain pills. She ran after him with the golf club. Smashed in the window causing him to crash the car. Then the shiz really hit the fan. Just a theory.

If that's the way it happened, it would not surprise me at all. What a lowlife this guy turned out to be. ohno:
MonarC 12-16-2009, 11:11 AM I hate how some people in the media try to say "He is just a healthy male, it's just a natural thing for him to want as many women as he can get."

They have a thing on our local news where the viewers can email in their opinions (called "Sound Off") - and that's exactly what some of them are saying. Disgusting, isn't it?

But seriously it's disgusting that they are trying to make it seem like it's ok for this guy to cheat. He's a billionaire all-star athelete. I don't care who you are you don't cheat if your married that is just wrong. If you wanna be a playboy don't get married. Plain and simple.

So true. You can't have your cake and eat it, too!
MonarC 12-16-2009, 11:07 PM Well looks like the latest rumors are Elin is leaving Tiger. Who can blame the poor girl. I mean one girl is bad enough but 14. DAAAAAAAAMN!!! How much sex does a man need?

14 that we know of - who knows how many more of them are out there??
James 12-17-2009, 01:58 PM He was just named Athlete of the Decade! I wonder if the voting took place prior to the SUV crash!
Chelsea 12-17-2009, 02:30 PM One thing that bugs me: It's being assumed that Tiger was involved with each and every one of these women coming forward. No one thinks at least a couple of these dozen-plus ladies are just after a quick cash grab? We pretty much know there was at least one. I doubt the number is ACTUALLY *this* high - if Tiger were sleeping with 14 women who weren't his wife SOMEONE with the tabloids or paparazzi or ESPN would have caught on ages ago.
Scoobiedoo30 12-17-2009, 02:30 PM I think that Voteing ttok place before the Accident

That's true - and I wouldn't be surprised if any of these women wrote a book or something like that. The whole thing is sickening.

Well if it's not true where is Tiger denying it? From what I hear there are already a few books in the works. They didn't waste any time cashing in.
James 12-23-2009, 03:05 AM This is TV-related--I read on two sources (the websites for FOX News and Glenn Beck's show) that one of the mistresses connected to Tiger is Holly Sampson, who played "Terri with an R-I" in the episode "A Summer Song" from The Wonder Years.
