View Full Version : Halloween Eps
FanofRetroTV 10-28-2009, 11:49 AM It's all most halloween! What tv shows have the best halloween eps. I always liked the following:
Cheers "bar wars V"
The Dick Van Dyke Show "Ghost of a Craz"
The Simpons "three house of horror 5"
MASH "trick or treatment"
The Addams Family had two but cant think of the names right now
Growing Pains "Halloween"
Family Matters, they had four I can think of
What are some of your favorite halloween eps?
Also did anyone notice that there are very few halloween eps theses days. So far I seen two: NCIS and The Simpsons both had halloween themed eps but I did see any others.
Goldilocks 10-28-2009, 02:18 PM The Halloween episode of "Tool Time" (1991) where Brad and Randy are scaring Mark, so Tim and Jill decide to give Brad and Randy a taste of their own medicine by dressing up like zombies and playing "In a Gadda Da Vida" really loud.
Chocoholic 10-28-2009, 02:25 PM Wings had one Halloween episode where the gang thought someone left a human heart in the airport
NewsRadio also had one where they had a Halloween party.
I love the Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors the best, at least the earlier ones.
Marvo301 10-28-2009, 06:41 PM For the record the correct title of the "Dick Van Dyke Show" episode you referenced is "The Ghost of A. Chantz".
gidgetgrape 10-28-2009, 07:30 PM My favorite is "Halloween XII" from Square Pegs in 1982. You can watch it for free, legally here:

benjamoon 10-28-2009, 09:08 PM I love the Dick Van Dyke one, though it's more just a haunted one, not a Halloween one
Happy Days "Haunted" from the 2nd season is an all-time classic
I love a lot of the Bewitched Halloween ones (they had 6 in total I think) but my favorites are "The Safe and Sane Halloween" and "The Witches are Out"
Also, I love the "8 Simple Rules" Halloween episode
comedyfreak 10-29-2009, 08:24 AM I like all the halloween episodes of Roseanne.
browneyes106 10-29-2009, 06:22 PM The early Treehouse of Horror episodes were really great. I love all the Roseanne Halloween episodes.
Retro4Life 10-29-2009, 10:05 PM One of Scooby Dum's few appearances was in a "New Scooby Doo Mysteries" Halloween episode that featured the "headless horseman" as the villain. :)
treky 10-30-2009, 04:21 AM I like "THE SIMPSONS" "treehouse of horror" episodes.
tv star collector 10-30-2009, 09:03 AM Some that immediately come to mind:
Bewitched ("The Witches Are Out" (1st), "Trick or Treat")
Halloween with the Addams Family (TV special)
Highway to Heaven ("I Was a Middle-Aged Werewolf")
The Simpsons ("Treehouse of Horror"; esp. early episodes)
torcan 10-30-2009, 02:57 PM Also did anyone notice that there are very few halloween eps theses days. So far I seen two: NCIS and The Simpsons both had halloween themed eps but I did see any others.
Back in the '90s, each network would seem to have a "Halloween week" each year where just about every series had a Halloween episode. That seems to have died down.
In the '60s-80s, you'd get Halloween episodes every so often but it wouldn't be a guarantee.
My favorites would have to be "Bewitched" (all 5 of them), "Home Improvement" and a non-sitcom "Early Edition", among others.
torcan 10-30-2009, 02:59 PM Some that immediately come to mind:
Bewitched ("The Witches Are Out" (1st), "Trick or Treat")
Halloween with the Addams Family (TV special)
Highway to Heaven ("I Was a Middle-Aged Werewolf")
The Simpsons ("Treehouse of Horror"; esp. early episodes)
I remember that "Halloween with the Addams Family" special. It was a 90-minute color special from 1977. It was synicated in the early '80s - I remember seeing it on an independent station in both '82 and '83 Halloween time. I haven't seen it since. Too bad...it was very well done.
lalauver 10-30-2009, 10:33 PM my favorite-frasier-halloween
I also watch the following every halloween:D
hogan family-nightmare on oak street
brady bunch-fright night
dennis the menace-dennis haunts a house
Marvo301 10-30-2009, 11:06 PM I really like the "Frasier" episode where they all decided to dress up as their hero for halloween and Niles dressed as his father.
Schmoopie 11-01-2009, 07:03 AM I love the Halloween episodes of Full House and the Growing Pains episode where Ben goes with Candace Cameron to a Halloween party. Maggie totally cracked me up... "My little Monk's first date!"
Full House had some funny ones too. I think there were more than one, but the one that comes to mind is when DJ wants to go to her own Halloween party and Stephanie wants DJ to go to the school carnival. Danny Tanner: "Batman hugging the joker. Now this is how the movie should have ended!" LOL
Rosslover 11-02-2009, 12:23 AM also the FRIENDS ep TOW the Halloween Party where Sean Penn met the Buffay sisters, Rachel exercises her motherly instincts and a battle ensues between Bunny vs. Doody.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID SCHWIMMER
tvfan25 08-05-2012, 08:04 PM American Dreams-Halloween (Richard Moll's in this episode as a recluse)
Diff'rent Strokes-A Haunting We Will Go (Arnold & Sam go ghostbusting)
Andy Griffith Show-Haunted House (Otis & another guy have a still in an abandoned house. Really funny!)
Wayans Bros.-Scared Straight (Hilarious!)
All of Home Improvement & Roseanne episodes
Rosslover 08-17-2012, 11:48 PM The Will and Grace halloween episode where will's boss makes him take the kids trick or treating and then jack and karen go gay bar hopping.
Regulus 08-18-2012, 08:12 AM Mid-August.
Hmmm....
Yup! It's time to start getting ready for that special day in October! pumpkin:
Five gets you ten when October comes around we'll be hearing about ANOTHER "Special Day" that will occurb a few weeks later! :santa2:    :rotflmao: :brent :cc:
Vahan 08-18-2012, 11:58 AM I loved the Halloween episode of Mr. Belvedere from season 3 in 1986. George and Marsha went to see The Happy Guys of Pittsburgh (this was their second appearance on the show), only to find out that they have a dark side.
Also, Heather and Kevin swapped costumes at the very end of the 2nd act.
spunkygirl 08-19-2012, 03:33 PM Boy Meets World had a great Halloween episode called "The Witches of Penbrooke" it wasn't really scary though LOL.
Melissa Joan Hart guested as her Sabrina Spellman character who dated Eric at the end of that episode. Candace Cameron was in it too
