By: MrDisgusting
Bloody Disgusting learned this morning that Dario Piana, director of The Deaths of Ian Stone, is getting behind the camera for Warner Premiere's Lost Boys 3: The Thirst, which was scripted by Evan Charnov.
Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander are said to return at the Frog brothers, although I could only confirm Feldman's involvement.
Here's the exclusive plot crunch:
"When veteran vampire hunter Edgar Frog finds himself destitute and almost friendless, he thinks his live has hit bottom - but wealthy vampire-romance novelist Gwen Liebling offers him a small fortune to go on the vampire hunt of a lifetime and rescue her son Peter from the Alpha Vampire D.J.Dusk. With the help of his friends Zoe, Lars and Blake, Edgar heads into a bloody battle to exterminate evil."
Shooting is set to begin this November in South Africa.

The second one, The Tribe, really wasn't all that great. I will say that Corey Feldman was probably the only good thing about it as he was good in it.

September 27, 2009
On Thursday, details surfaced about Warner Premiere's Lost Boys 3: The Thirst. Now star Corey Feldman has updated his blog with the following entry talking about the threequel.
In keeping with that positivity, I have some exciting news that I just can't keep under wraps any longer! Well actually someone leaked it first but since its already all over the net here goes... as the title above us reads we are finally going to make a third installment to "The Lost Boys" series.
I am very excited to get started. The title of the film will be "Lost Boys: The Thirst" and I am excited to say it will be a full scale return of the Frog Brothers. Not like the tease in the last film.
I would say this will be much closer to the comic book series. I do not want to tell you too much about it other than I have been lucky enough to be asked to Executive Produce the film for Warners. What that means is that I will have more creative involvement than ever before. I promise to do my very best to give the fans what they want this time around.
This film will also have a bit more modern of a look to it as it is being directed by Italian director Dario Piana who directed a very futuristic Horror film called "The Deaths of Ian Stone".
I am also pleased to announce that Truth Movement has been asked to contribute some music to the films soundtrack. Which is an absolute dream come true for me, as I so much loved the soundtrack from the original film. I can not tell you anything more about the cast at this time.
We are set to start shooting in November in South Africa. I will miss you while I'm gone but don't worry I'll write while I'm away.

October 3, 2009
Last night at the Eyegore Awards, Corey Feldman walked the red carpet with Jamison Newlander, his co-star in Lost Boys 3, which shoots in South Africa next month.
First question we had to ask - will Lost Boys 3 continue from the alternate deleted ending of Lost Boys: The Tribe in which Alan Frog (Newlander) is a vampire? Or will it return both brothers to their roots as vampire hunters?
"We can’t give away that much information right now," teases Feldman. "All I can tell you is this is officially the return of the Frog Brothers."
"I’m really excited," adds Newlander. "Honestly, Feldman’s been a big advocate of bringing the Frog Brothers back together on the screen, and I think it’s going to be great. I think that’s what the fans wanted from the beginning was the two of us side by side."
"We’re going to annihilate some nightstalker ass," Feldman chimes in.
Now wait... Shock has to push Feldman on that last statement. If they're annihilating "nightstalker ass", is he implying that they're fighting vampires together?
"Well, he could be the nightstalker, or I could! You never know what’s going to happen. We can guarantee there will definitely be a lot of dead vampires in this movie." Fair enough. And nice save.
Feldman is taking on an exec producer credit on this next Lost Boys sequel. He elaborated a bit on his role behind the scenes for Lost Boys 3.
"We’ve gone through many stories. This is the ninth or tenth draft of the script at this point," he explains. "Really what I’ve been doing is listening to the fans and trying to give them exactly what they want. That’s what’s important to me. I know number one, they want to see the Frog Brothers."
Lastly, Corey seems to be very excited about his next project which will debut on-line later this month.
"I’m working on a brand new project with Roger Corman, Joe Dante and it’s being presented by Netflix, and it’s going to be the first live streaming webseries ever," he tells us.
"And it will premiering on Halloween weekend. And to see the first glimpse of this very exciting new project, right now because of this event, we put up a little clip on Netflix.com/Splatter."
More on the webseries and Lost Boys 3 when we hear it!

JamesG 10-27-2009, 08:10 PM Feldman Leaving for Lost Boys 3: The Thirst Soon

October 27, 2009
Corey Feldman is still keeping mum about plot details for The Lost Boys 3: The Thirst, a follow-up to Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys and last year's direct-to-DVD sequel Lost Boys: The Tribe, but we did get him to bleed out a bit more info about the film this afternoon.
During our Splatter interview, the online series he stars in, Feldman revealed he leaves for South Africa next week to begin shooting. "This is going to be a good one," the actor said, "very big budget compared to the last one and the director's great."
At the helm this time? Dario Piana who directed The Deaths of Ian Stone.
"He does some really good stuff with CGI. There are a lot more effects on this one. A lot more fighting, stunts and wire work. And it's the return of the Frog brothers!"

JamesG 11-06-2009, 11:03 PM After the events of Lost Boys 2, it was said that Corey Haim would not be returning to the franchise alongside long-time co-star Corey Feldman.
Movieweb broke some huge news this evening as they're reporting that Haim will in fact star alongside Feldman once again, only it won't be in Lost Boys 3: The Thirst, which begins filming soon in Africa.
They report, "We just got back from chatting with Haim, who confirmed that he will not be participating in "Lost Boys 3: The Thirst" due to his very busy schedule. But he is in fact looking to come back for "LOST BOYS Part 4", in which Sam Emerson will play a huge part in the storyline..."

JamesG 05-29-2010, 10:09 PM Exclusive : Phoenix talks Lost Boys 3
by Clint Morris
Friday, May 28th, 2010
The actress, who recently attached herself to a big-budget British Spy Film, beat a number of U.S actresses to play the lead role of in the second of "The Lost Boys" sequels.
''I went up against some interesting American actresses, but Warner Bros and the producers loved my audition - and the director, Dario Piana and I got on so well - that they decided on me for the lead.
"I had only seen the first film with Keifer Sutherland, and in its time, it was a classic, now I see it has cult status. The current Vampire phenomenon is amazing.
What I found very interesting about the 'Lost Boys' script was that it showcases Vampires how they really are, blood sucking and evil, which somewhat dances around the fact that 'Twilight' made their Vampires seem beautiful, but they really are not.
I wanted to play a bad girl, and I finally got my chance."
The 5'9 stunner will happily sing the praises of her legendary co-star Corey Feldman, who reprises his role as vampire hunter Edgar Frog in the film.
"Corey is very sweet. He takes his work seriously. But he is just a big kid!", Phoenix laughs.
"For the most part our characters don't gel in the script, so to play bad girl on set and then have that change of character and be our fun loving selves off set was interesting."
A bad guy must ultimately end up a little bruised and battered, right?
"The most physical I got was getting into skimpy outfits", Phoenix laughs, "In the film I play a Vampire novelist, I write romance stories about humans and Vampires, and My character is used to getting what she wants so she has other people doing things for her, naturally."

SD Comic-Con '10: Feldman Follows George Lucas for Lost Boys Saga Release Pattern
Friday, July 23, 2010
By: Jeff Otto
Bloody Disgusting spoke exclusively with Lost Boys: The Thirst's Corey Feldman at San Diego Comic-Con to get the goods on the latest in the Boys saga and beyond.
When we asked about a fourth movie, Feldman admitted he had bigger plans than just a fourth movie, foreseeing an entire six-part saga and possibly even a TV series in the Lost Boys universe.
"We have a master plan, much like the 'STAR WARS' kind of baseline if you will," Feldman tells BD.
"We've pretty much plotted out at this point three more films that we could see happening. We're going all kinds of places that are really interesting. Everybody was waiting for the Frog brothers to get back together and now we accomplished that with this film.
You look at the first film, it is what it is. The second film kind of brings back the Edgar Frog character and loosely references a lot of the characters from the first film without actually getting into the storyline of what happened in-between.
This film brings the Frog brothers back together finally and really kinds of fills in the gaps. Now the world is kind of limitless for us. Whether that means we're going to go back and do a prequel or fill in the in-between of what happened between the second and the third movie, or the third and beyond, that I can't give away.
But I can tell you we've pretty eloquently mapped it out and we see this as a series that's going to go on for quite a while."
Beyond just movies, Feldman has plans for more comics and even a venture into TV land.
"I do see another comic book series coming out eventually, possibly a television series. I don't know if we'd go as far as animated because, you know, it's not really a kid thing.
But the limits are endless at this point. We really want to see how people react to this film and then we'll gauge how far we want to take it. But we have mapped out a very distinctive future for the Frog brothers and their crusades in fighting vampires."

JamesG 08-01-2010, 12:56 PM SDCC '10 Interview: Lost Boys Feldman & Newlander
Source: Peter Brown
August 1, 2010
Corey Feldman isn't shy about expressing that the second installment of The Lost Boys franchise, Lost Boys: The Tribe, was a bit lackluster. He uses it as an example to explain why the third film in the trilogy, Lost Boys: The Thirst, is so much better - better from a script perspective, better from an action perspective, better from a vampire perspective.
Not only does The Thirst reunite the Frog brothers, Shock had its own reunion with both Feldman and Alan Frog himself, Jamison Newlander, during the recent San Diego Comic-Con '10 where they were promoting the upcoming DVD release of The Thirst.
Give me a set up for The Thirst and how it factors into the trilogy.
Feldman: The first film made its mark by being a staple in pop culture and that's what it did best. It was a sign of the times. I think we've managed to evolve that and incorporate signs of our modern culture and society into the second and third film as well.
The first one was about mullets and the leather jackets and the fashion and rock and roll.
The second one was about the modern day YouTube and Girls Gone Wild.
The third one we have gone into the rave society. They are giving out this new designer drug called The Thirst. We give a nod to the contemporary classic book romance novel vampire. We acknowledge it. We embrace it and that's what makes it fun.
We continue with the theme of contemporizing vampires in today's society for what's expected of a vampire teen movie
Newlander: I think one of the successful parts of the second movie is what Feldman was doing with the return of Edgar Frog. In The Thirst, now Alan Frog is back. The Frog brothers are back together.
For me, that's certainly one of the most exciting parts but for the fans that's exciting for them as well
Bringing it back full circle almost.
Feldman: Not completely full circle, but enough we can say this encapsulates and completes a trilogy.
Now, it also leaves an entrée into future potential vehicles and furthering the franchise to where we could even more successfully bring back bring back elements from the first film.
And is that something you would like to see happen?
Feldman: Of course. For us it is all about supply and demand. This is probably one of the most fan-driven component films ever made. Kind of like Star Wars, not that we are in that same world. But in the essence that Star Wars has gone on for so long because it was so driven by the fans.
It was the first of its kind that was to be completely directed that way. Sure, every studio is going to make a sequel to a film that was successful based on the profit points and all that. Strictly from the fan-driven perspective, there were 20-plus years between the first one. There was the potential it would never see the light of day. But the fans held on. They kept demanding and pleading for the sequel.
Even though the sequel may have been lackluster in some regards and may not have held up to the esteem that the fans were expecting, it re-introduced them to the idea, to the theme, to the characters, enough so to where we could re-invigorate them and get them enthusiastic and excited for the next one.
And for The Thirst, as a producer coming on board, I made it my commitment to the fans that the only way I was getting involved with this film was to give the fans exactly what they were looking for
Which was:
A) the Frog brothers
B) by making this a better film than the last one was.
So, it is safe to say you are upping the ante on this film from a variety of perspectives compared to The Tribe.
Newlander: There is a lot of great stuff in this film. There is a lot of great fight work. We went to South Africa to do this and they have some great fight choreographers and special effects.
We have Katana swords that were introduced in the comic book, Reign of Frogs. So we came up with some really cool visual looks for this movie
Feldman: We did get some real benefits from going to South Africa to shoot because we were able to work with some of the same effects guys that worked on District 9. So, we got some of the stunt coordinators, some of the fight coordinators, some of the special effects make-up teams and that was very inviting to us.
Upping the ante is exactly what we have done from both a plot perspective and a visual perspective. When you see this movie there are no questions in your mind there has been a lot more money spent on this one. Visually, the scope of it, the dynamic of it. It looks great. There are some great fight sequences. There are some great action sequences.
But from a script standpoint, the script is far superior to The Tribe. It is very well fleshed out there is a lot of interesting plot points. Some great references to the first film.
There is a great homage to the late Corey Haim.
Do you mind talking about the details of that homage?
Feldman: There are some scenes in The Thirst, that when you watch the film, the first thought you will have is ‘Oh they went back and re-shot these sequences after Haim died.'
The truth of the matter is that they were there all along. It is quite ironic and a bit eerie the way they are played out. There's actually a sequence where Edgar Frog visits Sam's grave. And a lot of people after the screening came up to me and said ‘You probably went back and re-shot that and that's a very nice thing to do.' No we didn't.
In actuality, Haim and I had a discussion the night before I shot those scenes. His interest was to be in the next film should we make another one. The idea was like where we would take the character and how do we bring him back. He did a press conference where he said ‘I will not be in the third one but I'll be back for the fourth.'
Ironically, that was the night before we shot the cemetery scene. The day after, the producers and I were talking about how we would work it out. He wants to be a part of this; we want him to be a part of it. We have to flush out how we would make it happen.
So we started strategizing and plotting what we would do with the next fourth, fifth and sixth film, potentially, if we would do a second trilogy and how we would work with the Sam character.
We actually had everything constructed and planned and then he was taken from us. It is unfortunate that he couldn't be a part of it but when you are watching this film you will still think he was part of this film.
Sounds like a nice homage.
Feldman: It is a nice homage and the film is dedicated to him.
Newlander: At the screening, the scenes where you see Haim, you could feel the emotion coming from the fans. You could hear a pin drop during those sections.
It is eerie that those sections are in there and he is no longer with us. But it is a really nice, fitting homage to Corey.
