4. The original theme song, not that techno version they've had for awhile. (Do they still have that, or did they go back to the original?)

8. The Alphabet Song by Big Bird. Funny how he thought the alphabet was one long word.

I also loved their take on popular songs from the 70's and 80's, like Rebel L, Cereal Girl, Born to Add, and With a Little Yelp from my Friends. There are so many good ones.

For now though, these are my favorite songs.
Right now my favorite song is "Furry Happy Monsters", because I am seriously addicted to it! Crazy, huh? BTW, in case you haven't seen all the links I've posted to this song, it's the one with REM singing with the monsters. SO adorable!

Follow That Bird was the very first movie I ever saw in the theater, back in August of 1985. My grandma took me to see it. 20 years later I rented it on a lark and totally enjoyed it. :D

Hawkee 04-24-2017, 01:56 AM I would have to say my favorite Sesame Street song was Cereal Girl because it was cute and I used to sing along with the song and it was such an awesome song that really did a great job of having a Muppet character do a awesome version of Madonna's Material Girl in a parody. I think I remember the song Little Doll House because Mom and I thought it was such a darling song and had a cute video with adorable kittens playing in the doll house

There was also another version of Everybody Sleeps but it was named Everybody Eats and had the exact same music as Everybody Sleeps but it was all about food and the video would show different children eating and also showed clips of different types of foods too. Another Sesame Street song that had an awesome video to it was a song called Pasta's Good For You or something along the lines of that. And the video would show how pasta is made and would show the different types of pastas and it was such a cool song and video

Hawkee 02-20-2019, 06:19 AM I found a Sesame Street song called Say Cheese that was a delightful song that talked about photos and family and what really shocked me about this song was the singer who performs Say Cheese is none other than sitcom star Alaina Reed of 227 and I didn't know that she could sing so good

It was sung on Sesame Street by the late Northern Calloway who played David on Sesame Street and when I heard the song and video I thought it was wonderful because I love tigers. What I had never figured out is why Cecile the orange rubber ball had only five songs but the song that seemed to get played was I'm Gonna Get To You and Cecile had a nice singing voice and sounded like singer Bonnie Raitt and I wonder who designed the Cecile skits on Sesame Street? Because whoever created her was a genius

It was a beautiful Scottish sounding rendition of the alphabet and it made it's debut on Sesame Street in the 70's and the skit is also very beautiful too with different animals and fairies representing the alphabet letters. And it's a shame that this song has been not seen on the current seasons of Sesame Street because it's a wonderful song

There was one I loved that wasn't much of a song, lyric wise, where it just kept going "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10" with a driving backbeat to it. Then in the middle, they repeatedly sing whatever number it is, but with a lot of vocal gymnastics. Not much lyric wise, but I always loved the music. There would be 10 racecars, or 10 criminals who would open up their coats to show what they had hidden inside.

To me, it only gets better with every listen. Eight of the twelve songs were written by him including the first two and the final three. :) :) :)

Hawkee 04-05-2022, 01:39 AM Did you know that the little girls in the song Little Doll House are actually Jim Henson's young daughters playing with their actual doll house and also the kittens featured in the video were Jim Henson's kittens? And the song The People In Your Neighborhood has a commercial connection as well. The song was featured as the anthem for commercials for Save Mart a supermarket chain based in Northern California. The other song I remember was Two Princes which had Spin Doctors singing a parody of the song of the same name and featured Zoe and Prairie Dawn trying to guess which prince could be their crush
