5 Lives were cruelly and tragically cut short.

Tonight is the 40th Anniversary of the Manson Murders. It was 40 years ago that Abigail Folger, Steven Parent, Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski, Sharon Tate and her unborn baby (buried as Paul Tate Polanski) were murdered by Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Susan Atkins. The murderers are all still behind bars, but the victims remain young, beautiful, and innocent.

May God forgive them all their sins, and let them rest in peace. God bless them all.

I've always been fascinated by Charles Manson, it blows my mind that someone could do such horrible things and feel no remorse. ohno:

The sad part is, he's spent most of his life in prison, so he's quite happy there. He'd rather be in prison than be a free man. What kind of punishment is he getting?

Such a sad story. A night of horror that I can't even fathom. My brother turns 40 this October, and I always think that Sharon's son would be his age now, had he been given a chance to live.

Actually, it was changed to life WITH the posibility of parole. But he and all of the Family members associated with the murders have been continuously denied parole.

That's right, Angela Lansbury's son was a member and when all the killings happened he went into hiding.

Susan Atkins. The one who held Sharon Tate down while Tex Watson stabbed her. Atkins asked for compassionate release because she supposedly only had 6 months to live. That was over a year ago. She's up for parole again next month.

The Manson Family has another tie to the 1960's rock scene besides the Beach Boys. Family member Bobby Beausoleu sat in for a few time with Love. In fact it was Love frontman Arthur Lee who gave Bobby the nickname "bummer Bobby" because of his acid trips.

Again, just a a guess, but back in those days, many couples had two names picked out for babies, a boy's and a girl's name. Yeah, probably post-mortem. So so sad. That poor baby had to feel terrible distress and pain.

I still can't believe Susan Atkins was trying to get out by using the "sympathy" ploy. Yes she has a brain tumor, but she held Sharon Tate down and when Sharon asked them to spare the life of her unborn child, Susan said, "Bitch, I don't give a damn about you or you baby!" :mad: Well Susan, I don't give a damn about you or your brain tumor!

Roman was in London - finishing work on a film. Sharon had actually been with him, but flew home early because she didn't want to be traveling so close to the end of her pregnancy.

Sharon didn't know she was having a boy. Roman named him Paul for the funeral :(
