Yeah you would think more Cities owuld have a million or more people.

Here a couple of things I thought aboutas I writing the list.

1. New York City And Los Angeles will both most likely remain the nation largest cities for years to come, NYU could have up to 20 million by 2030 and LA would have about 10 million by 2030.

2. Houston may become the Third Largest city and replace Chicago in the next 2 years or so, It is growing fast and is now starting to move in on Chicago population.

I'm sure having the suburbs confuse a lot of people, too. Like how NYC metro has about 20 million people, LA metro has over 10 million people and so on.

The Twin Cities metro area has 3 million people... Minneapolis feels so big, but Minneapolis proper only has about 380,000 people. St. Paul proper has about 270,000 people.

Thanks Allison. I guess I didn't realize that this list was talking about the population of the cities themselves and not their metro areas. I guess that explains why Detroit isn't on the list. Most people there probably live in the Burbs not the City itself.

I live in the 41st City...whereas the State Capital is the 16th City!

We may be 42nd after this year....And 80 years ago...we were 5th!

Frankly I am not surprised Detroit isnt on that list. The city has taken a big hit with everything that is going on with the automotive industry, and so many people have left over the years. Detroit's population is now under a million.
