I am having major computer problems. Right now I'm unable to get on about 80% of my favorite websites because it says: This web site probably contains malicious software program, which can cause damage to your computer or perform actions without your permission. Your computer may be infected after visiting such web site. We recommend you to install (or activate) antivirus security software.

The thing I don't understand is that I already have over $100.00 worth of spyware, adware, and every other type of protection programs on my computer including AVG, Paretologic drive clear, Paretologic reg cure, spybot, as well as others, yet it's telling me I must download a program called Personal Antivirus for $80.00 to resolve this problem, and I don't have $80.00 to spare. I can't even post on any board here at S.O other than regular Chit Chat. I also can't logon to Facebook, MySpace, and several other sites that I frequent. I'm also getting a warning that says I have a virus called: Trojan.Win32Agent.azsy, and another called TrojanMdropper.AC. This all just came about all of a sudden a couple hours ago, and I don't know how to fix it. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. From what I understand, This is nothing but an attempt to get your personal information and that no anitvirus software or downloads are actually being sold. I'm no computer expert by any means so hopefully someone here can help you out.

Thanks for the info Zoneboy!! Now it's doing the same thing when I try logging on to chit chat. Pretty soon I won't even be able to post here. Man I hate computer problems!!!

Now when I visit chit chat it's saying: This page is infected by malicious advertising code. Such code can seriously affect your computer. Click here to protect your computer with Personal Antivirus.

Did you run a scan of your computer? It sounds like a virus or something to me.

It does say I have a couple viruses, and so I'm running a virus scan with AVG right now. Thanks for the suggestions Courtnee, and Kristen!! :)

Will the antivirus software that you are using to scan remove the virus?

If not...

Trend Micro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/)

If you have Java updated, you shouldn't have to upload it or update it.

I assume it will get rid of the infection or virus.

I fixed the problem!!! :D All I did was restore my computer to an earlier date before this problem started. I restored it to July 13th, and everything is back to normal. Thanks again to all of you for your suggestions. It was much appreciated!!! :)

see if AVG will remove it, then reboot into SAFEMODE and delete all of your temp files, either with a program like CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/download)or ATF cleaner (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/ATF-Cleaner.shtml)

turn off System Restore (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405) (don't forget to turn it back on afterwards)

How to remove Trojan.win32.agent.azsy manually:

To perform manual removal of Trojan.win32.agent.azsy, you should do the following:

Thanks again to all of you for your suggestions. It was much appreciated!!! :)you need to clear the infected files in your system restore files - turn system restore off then delete all temp files, reboot and turn it back on again

make sure you do your windows updates right away as well.

you should still do an online scan to make sure it is gone, and if you want to post a HijackThis log i can look at it.

Brad, I'm glad you got your computer fixed because I'd hate to think that you wouldn't be able to post anymore! I've had that same problem as well, and I agree with the majority that it sounds like a virus. I hate when my computer freaks out and I can't figure out how it happened or how to fix it!

Thanks Jen, Kyle, and Andrea. :) I was going crazy yesterday as I was unable to log into any of my favorite websites. Turns out it was a couple of viruses as you all suggested, but thankfully they've been taken care of. Thanks again for your concern, and help.
