View Full Version : One of the most shocking series finales TV ever dared air. plappy 06-27-2001, 02:02 PM What's the point in having everybody getting killed? When I saw it, I was like, WHAT!!!!! Rob 07-23-2001, 09:18 AM I never saw the last episode. What happened? callmetootie 07-23-2001, 02:31 PM It was very sad, and extremly uncalled for. This was worse then anything could happen on a sitcom. What happens is a group is forcing the prehistoric age to go into the ice age, which will make them extinct, but instead of them just disappearing they must be killed, and destroyed, which does happen...and Baby says the line that makes the episode sad..."I don't want to have to die Daddy". ------------------ Andrew Carden Jordan 08-07-2001, 08:03 PM The series finale was my favorite episode. I like the final episode of a show to be somewhat touching or sad. I think that the ending of "Dinosaurs" was appropriate. I mean, dinosaurs did go extinct. And, just to correct callmetootie's comment, the baby asked "are we going to move?" Earl said, "No, this is the only world we got." Then the baby asked the really moving question - "What's going to happen to us?" Earl replies: "I don't know." a NaNcY FaNaTiC 09-04-2001, 10:09 PM I loved the finale! It was extremely touching, and very fitting. I mean, it's the end of "Dinosaurs." So why not show the end of *dinosaurs*. It was very clever! misterblowhole 09-19-2001, 01:56 AM It was a sad episode, but very clever. Dinosaurs was always an unconventional show, and it's ending certainly upheld that reputation. As I recall, the episode was not promoted as being a series finale whatsoever, which made the ending of the episode all the more shocking. Still, I commend the series creators for how they ended the show's run. And the show was filled with messages that could be applied to life right now...I'm suprised nobody has brought that up. force88 10-02-2001, 06:10 AM The last episode was sad truely. I don't know how many times I saw that one but it made me cry! ------------------ d Mr. Stefani 02-20-2002, 01:50 AM any1 have this epispode? ashleyyvonne 04-17-2002, 06:23 PM yes it was very sad... Chocoholic 04-26-2002, 06:43 PM It was a sad episode, but very clever and well-done. Will and Grace Fanatic 05-19-2002, 01:41 PM I never saw the last episode but it does sound pretty sad and bad. Worse than the Seinfeld series finale. When you end a show it is suppose to be a happy ending. Jordan 06-17-2002, 07:25 PM You know, I was watching this final episode last night and still could not believe how clever the show ended. This is perhaps the greatest series finale to ever air on television. It seems like it took so much thought and planning, when in treality it was probably such an easy concept. Nevertheless, it was a sitcom jewel of an episode. Touching and sad, you can't help but to be intrigued by the final episode, especially toward the end whe Earl tried explaining to the Baby exactly what was going on as simple and as not-scary as possible. And then there were those final words of the show said by Earl -- "I'm sure it will all work out okay. After all, dinosaurs have been on this planet for 150 million years.....and it's not like we're gonna just disappear." An extremely outstanding episode this was. :happyface :happyface :happyface Swimfan85 09-12-2002, 10:38 PM yah it was a little weird but very sad Czas na Zywiec 11-11-2002, 09:25 PM Ya know the sad thing? I never even got to see it! :crying: Warm & Fuzzy 11-11-2002, 09:33 PM Originally posted by Original Prankster Ya know the sad thing? I never even got to see it! :crying: Me either! :( The last episode I can 'recall' seeing is the one where Earl argues that the earth was indeed round, but not flat, and then they had this 'globe' ay, that was funny. -memories- VIOLATOR 05-11-2004, 10:01 AM If they was ever to bring dinosaur's the show back, then they could make it so it was a dream baby was having! :) Furienna 04-07-2007, 08:33 PM I haven't watched this show for over ten years. I'm sure no Swedish TV channel has aired it since the mid-1990s. But I remember many episodes, and of course, this is one of them. It was really sad, but I have to agree with Jordan. The dinosaurs did die out (except those who turned into birds), everybody knows that, so the ending suited the show. Mr. Television 04-07-2007, 11:04 PM I never got to see it until it went into syndication in the mid 90's. One of the best final episodes of all time..... Jerlene 04-12-2007, 11:36 PM Everybody died? lmao I don't remember. It was such a long time ago. I want to get the series on DVD. Furienna 04-13-2007, 09:45 AM Yeah, bascically, everybody died through a natural disaster. I remember it started to snow. Brian Damage 04-13-2007, 10:57 AM Wow, now I've got to see this. lol browneyes106 05-13-2009, 05:46 PM I sort of liked the series finale. bigoranget 04-18-2011, 11:21 PM I know this is an old thread but I thought I would put my two cents in here. The whole premise of the series is basically a commentary on political and social issues that was occuring at the time when the show aired, many of which still exist almost 20 years later. What viewer's are suppose to take from the show is that we can cause our own demise if we do not slow down consumption of the earths natural resources and climate change. If you watch the entire series, the ending should be no surprise. It was a very fitting ending to a rather clever series in my opinion. TMC 05-20-2013, 03:34 AM http://www.buzzfeed.com/briangalindo/dinosaurs-the-most-traumatizing-series-finale-ever The extinction of the Sinclair family was a blow to childhoods everywhere. But the episode also delivered a powerful message. MacLeaper 05-21-2013, 11:48 AM Well, the entire universe was populated by dinosaurs- it makes sense that the show would reflect what actually happened in our universe with the dinosaurs dying out. And it definitely was meant as a social action message with an environmental warning as well- this is something Jim Henson was a big believer in, definitely. In any case, "Dinosaurs" is a great Henson sitcom- I loved this as a kid. One of these days I want to go through and watch it all again on DVD.:) JO Sweet Heart 07-01-2013, 03:31 PM I hated it when the baby asked "What's going to happen to us?" :( :( :( God bless you always!!! :) :) :) Holly P.S. I am glad that this show became available on DVD when one of my other favorites shows isn't out there yet: Step By Step. :( :( :( DVDLover 07-01-2013, 11:19 PM The series finale was my favorite episode.
