View Full Version : Favorite house and apartment
OOliver 06-09-2009, 04:54 PM If you had the choice to live in any home or apartment from a TV sitcom which would you choose? Don't go by the state, city or neighborhood it was in, but the house and apartment itself (lay-out, decor, etc).
For the house I would want to live in - that's easy! Since I was a little kid I aways dreamed of living in the Stephens' home on "Bewitched". I'm no longer a child, but I still dream of living in that house (with a few updates).
A close second would be the house on "The Golden Girls"...I always liked that one as well.
For the apartment, it would have to be the second apartment Rhoda Morgenstern took on the last few seasons of "Rhoda". I always thought that apartment was cozy and quaint. I could live there.
As a close second, it would be the opposite end of the spectrum - I would live in Frasier's apartment! It's big and spacious (opposite of cozy and quaint!) and very appealing.
janet42 06-09-2009, 05:40 PM I would like to live at Shady Rest Hotel on "Petticoat Junction". A close second is to live in the same apartment building as "Three's Company". I also wouldn't mind visiting Station 51 on "Emergency".
James 06-10-2009, 12:31 AM For a house, that's easy! The Arnold house on The Wonder Years (which I have seen in person, by the way!), of course! I've even fantasized about buying it and living there, provided I find a job in southern California!
As for apartment, I'm kind of leaning toward the apartment Larry and Balki had on Perfect Strangers before they moved into that Victorian house late in the series.
Retro4Life 06-10-2009, 12:37 AM For me, it's the Munsters' mansion. ;)
As for apartments, Mary Richards' first place always seemed really cool to me.
Schmoopie 06-10-2009, 03:17 AM Funny that OOliver mentioned the Bewitched house, because often if I'm reading a book, I seem to picture that house the most when conjuring up an image of the house I'm reading about. Not sure why that is at all.
My favorite TV houses are probably the Full House house (wow, that place is huge for being so narrow!), and Adrian Monk's house on "Monk".
The "Charmed" house is pretty cool, and that attic must be really cool (and spooky!) to be in.
I love the Soprano's house; especially their kitchen!
comedyfreak 06-10-2009, 05:54 AM My favorite house is the Bewitched house that would be my choice. As for apartment I'll choose Ann Marie's apartment from That Girl.
Sharop 06-10-2009, 07:05 AM I'm not sure - I really like Frasier's apartment on Frasier. I also think the Keaton home on Family Ties has a really cosy feel to it.
I also quite like the model home on Arrested Development.
catlover79 06-10-2009, 08:17 AM For a house, that's easy!
I loved that apartment, too. Plus I loved Mary's first apartment on the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Hayden's cabin on Coach, and the Stephens house on Bewitched.
Goldilocks 06-10-2009, 01:48 PM Frasier's apartment. (Frasier)
The Nelson's home (The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet)
catlover79 06-10-2009, 03:55 PM Frasier's apartment. (Frasier)
The Nelson's home (The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet)
Yeah, Frasier's apartment was pretty cool. Except maybe for Martin's tacky easy chair.
Sharop 06-10-2009, 04:08 PM Yeah, Frasier's apartment was pretty cool. Except maybe for Martin's tacky easy chair.
But can you imagine the apartment without it? It just wouldn't be the same! :)
OOliver 06-10-2009, 05:13 PM Oh wow! The Munster's house! How did I forget that one?
I also like Ida and Martin Morgenstern's apartment on RHODA. It was sooooo New Yawk. I think that's now my first choice.
MickeyMac 06-10-2009, 05:23 PM I would love to live in the Stephens home just so I could be near Samantha :happyface
The house I really like was the Collinwood mansion on Dark Shadows. Sure it was creepy but what a big place and loads of space, and the property outside is beautiful.
OOliver 06-10-2009, 05:25 PM Sorry - "Samantha sold seperately". :rotflmao:
Gowza 06-10-2009, 06:55 PM niles' apartment after he divorced maris looked pretty nice.

Schmoopie 06-10-2009, 11:22 PM Frasier's apartment is pretty cool. And WOW! That view of the Space Needle is incredible! Anyone who has been to Seattle knows that there is no way an apartment would have that close of a view of the Space Needle!A view of it, yes, but not that close! But they have to make it look like Seattle somehow, right? And even if it did have that kind of a view, that place would be probably several thousand dollars! There is a tour company on the waterfront called Argosy Cruises and whenever they do a tour, they always point out the "area" that Fraiser lives in. Funny thing is that the area isn't that close to the Space Needle!
I wouldn't mind living in the Cleaver home or in the Father Knows Best home. Actually those are one and the same. Bit of trivia I learned while on a Universal Studios tour back in the 80's!
My number one place would be the Full House house, though. Man, how did they squeeze all that stuff (and all those people!) into that narrow space?!
browneyes106 06-11-2009, 12:02 AM The Golden Girls house
The Nanny house
OOliver 06-20-2009, 05:26 PM I would have to add Phyllis' 'home' in San Francisco. I love that grand staircase coming into the living room.
I would also rent the Jefferson's apartment. What a beautiful place that was!
catlover79 06-21-2009, 12:34 AM But can you imagine the apartment without it? It just wouldn't be the same! :)
You're totally right!! It wouldn't be the same without that tacky chair.
Nighthawk76 06-21-2009, 12:41 AM I think my favorite house would have to be the Keaton household on Family Ties. It was just a really nice looking suburban home. Even though Alex's bedroom seemed a little bit big for that size house. Of course, maybe he needed a big room for his big ego.
As far as apartments go, I really like Kirk's San Francisco apartment in Star Trek II and III. It was a great combination of science fiction and history, two of my favorite loves.
catlover79 06-21-2009, 12:51 AM I think we all know I am willing to pay the price for Samantha
Name your price, Mickey.

factsoflife 06-22-2009, 07:35 PM Well i've always loved the Keaton house on "Family Ties". It was just perfectly quaint nad i loved the dark wood and built in sheleves and stuff. I always loved the master bedroom on that show with the beautiful closet and the mosaic glass windows throughout the house.
I also love the apartment Paul and Jamie live in on "Mad About You", the perfect size apartment and pretty cute, although i would decorate it better, it was sort of plain the way it was decorated.
I loved the house on "The Facts Of Life" after everyone moved out of Eastland and it was Edna's Edibles, it was cute as heck.
I love Meredith's house on Grey's Anatomy, that is beautiful.
I always loved the Salinger house on "Party Of Five".
On 90210 i love the Walsh House, i've always been a sucker for Mexican style bungalows and i love the red tile and the cute oval shaped enterance ways. The kitchen was unbelieveable and the bathroom that Brenda and Brandon shared was CUTE!
I also loved Jackie Taylor's house on 90210, especially with all the foe bricks and fish tanks in it! totally 80's style!
I loved Monica's apartment on "FRIENDS" it was beautiful.
and lately i love the apartment of Todd and Samantha on "Samantha Who" and Christine's house on "The New Adventures Of Old christine" as well as leonard and sheldon's apartment on "The Big Bang Theory".

you mean Hadyen Fox right? not Fox Hayden. his first name is Hayden, fox is his last name. I actually liked better the house he and Christine lived in when they moved to Florida.
tlc38tlc38 07-05-2015, 11:07 AM The Harper house on "Mama's Family" has always been my favorite. As for an apartment, I wouldn't love in an apartment because I like owning my own property and having my own lawn.
Bonniegirl 07-05-2015, 12:56 PM As a kid I LOVED the Brady house, so I will still say that. Also old fashioned homes like Mama's Family or the Walton's house.
Apt. Oh I don't even have to think about that, Mary Richard's very cool, cozy, quaint Studio apt.

liane49 07-20-2015, 12:09 PM Id hate to live at The Shady Rest way out in the boon docks and no TV or phone.
liane49 07-20-2015, 12:10 PM As a kid I LOVED the Brady house, so I will still say that. Also old fashioned homes like Mama's Family or the Walton's house.
Apt. Oh I don't even have to think about that, Mary Richard's very cool, cozy, quaint Studio apt.
Evening Shade has a lot of big houses, Ava and Wood have a big house, Freda has a big house and so do Hariln and Merlene.
Favorite House to live in - The Partridge Family House
Favorite apartment to live in - Laverne & Shirley's California apartment
daynet 07-22-2015, 08:53 AM At least Eddie was in that tacky chair a lot in Frasier's apartment.
daynet 07-22-2015, 08:56 AM I also love Mary Richard's studio apartment.
Never mind Tony's house; I wouldn't mind living in Jeannie's bottle!
bmasters9 07-22-2015, 09:32 AM I would love to live in the Hartleys' apartment on The Bob Newhart Show.
scrapple 07-29-2015, 04:23 PM How about the Kramden's apartment on The Honeymooners? Or Niles'
(temporary) apartment, the Shangri-La?
Coffeecup 07-29-2015, 07:01 PM Id hate to live at The Shady Rest way out in the boon docks and no TV or phone.
I feel that way on Gilligans Island. I'd get tired of a hammock. No where to go on that island.
If I was just starting out, Tim O'hara Place on My favorite Martian is cute
Bonniegirl 08-02-2015, 04:26 PM I LOVE the Shady Rest, but they would have to bring in a TV and phone! I was watching the other day, and wondering how the guests were able to make reservations? I guess they had to come through Sam Drucker's store?
Tim O'Hara's garage apt. was really cute!:)
Kramden's apt. ? No thanks! Eww!!:p
Fred and Doris Ziffel's house on Green Acres was a cute, cozy farmhouse! ;)
Coffeecup 08-02-2015, 05:30 PM [B][B]I LOVE the Shady Rest, but they would have to bring in a TV and phone! I was watching the other day, and wondering how the guests were able to make reservations? I guess they had to come through Sam Drucker's store?
I tend to think people found the place by Kate's advertising and they wrote to her regarding reservations.

AMackII 02-13-2021, 09:12 AM Favorite House: The One from Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Apartment- Diff'rent Strokes
RetroGuy2000 02-13-2021, 11:40 AM House: The one on Charmed, or maybe the one on Webster, if it must be a sitcom.
Apartment: the Diff'rent Strokes penthouse.
alendrew11 02-13-2021, 05:41 PM House is the Bewitched house that would be my choice.
I'll choose apartment from Ann Marie's apartment from That Girl.
The "Leave It To Beaver" home, not only because it was the Cleavers' home but it also hosted many other great series like "Father Knows Best", "Dennis The Menace", and "Gidget". The neighborhood it was located in had houses that also hosted multiple series like "Bewitched", "I Dream Of Jeannie", "The Partridge Family" and other series when those ones weren't filming there like "Marcus Welby MD", "Hazel" and currently "American Housewife". So living in any of those homes with any of those casts, except the last 3, would be like living a dream for me.
treky 02-14-2021, 03:36 AM good question! I guess I'd chose...hmmm,let's see I guess Oscar and Felixes apartment on THE ODD COUPLE-both of them.
As for houses; the Bunkers house on ALL IN THE FAMILY

cnnbcbs 02-28-2021, 12:06 PM The Gimme A Break house was a pleasant set. I loved the house from the final season of Perfect Strangers Frasier Crane's apartment with the Seattle skylight was a classic.
