ILUVO&H 06-05-2009, 01:48 AM your idea of cursing is muttering GOSH DARN THORNBERRY!!
When you would hear the Keebler Elf you'd smile and think of Darby!
While loving the nod to Ozzie and Harriet, you fume inside as some tv show makes a joke of having Ozzie and Harriet beds, because we all know They didn't have twin beds!!
You want to smack Carol Brady herself, Florence Henderson for always going around saying Mike and Carol were the first tv couple to share a bed.
You watch Happy Days just to hear references to Ozzie and Harriet.
**I actually read somewhere or maybe I heard it in a tv bio of Happy Days, but it was said that Garry Marshall used Ozzie Nelson as the prototype and basis for creating the ideal 50's dad Howard Cunningham.
70s show watcher 06-05-2009, 01:59 AM you are a fan if you mix fruit cocktail in cherry ice cream to try to make it taste like tutti furtiy

Goldilocks 06-11-2009, 01:44 PM When you would hear the Keebler Elf you'd smile and think of Darby!
Darby did the Keebler Elf voice? I never knew that! Wow.
Dan Tullis 06-12-2009, 07:01 PM When I think of Darby, I think of him and Ozzie sitting in the kitchen, eating their burgers, trying to fight off a craving for tutti frutti ice cream. "Hey Oz, this is great. I can't remember when I've enjoyed anything more." "You know what would make this even better, Darb? Tutti frutti ice CREAM.":D
ILUVO&H 06-12-2009, 10:24 PM I always loved that Ozzie loved ice cream so much. It's so common and ordinary, and who doesn't love ice cream. I love ice cream too. It was almost like a running gag ozzie and his ice cream.
And you ever notice in the episodes, Ozzie makes a lot of references to his own weight, like not needing the ice cream or commenting that he had put on weight, but Ozzie never wrote anything about Harriets weight, or her really making comments like that. Once in a while like a couple episodes only I can recall, Harriet made some sort of comment about losing weight, usually after Ozzie comments on his own and how he wants to go on a diet so Harriet joins him. Usually in tv shows you'd always see the female worrying about her weight and the guy caring less about it, or not mentioning it, or making comments about not being able to fit into something. You'd never see Ricky Ricardo and Fred Mertz worrying about their weight but Lucy and Ethel would go to any lenght to lose it.
ILUVO&H 06-12-2009, 10:26 PM Darby did the Keebler Elf voice? I never knew that! Wow.
Yes, Parley Baer was the voice of Ernie the Keebler elf for years and years and years until his death.
Now whenever I see the Keebler commericals, when I hear Ernie speak it just reminds me that Darb's not here anymore. :(
ILUVO&H 06-12-2009, 10:30 PM Your favorite episode of Growing Pains is the one where Skip Young and Parley Baer have a cameo!
Darbs working the counter at a diner which reminds me of the malt shop, and Wally's sitting at the counter. The give advice to Mike who's contemplating marriage.

That 100 ep Mill Creek set really is quite wonderful. It'd be fantastic if they rolled another out. And maybe Shout Factory will release another set- they've been just great at bringing shows out.
