View Full Version : Which SO Member Do You Most Look Up To and Which Are You Most Protective Of
Nighthawk76 06-02-2009, 08:00 PM Since Sitcoms Online is like a family, each of us probably has at least one member that we really look up to as well as one member that we are protective of.
The person I look up to most here is Sonny. Sonny is older than me and he always is a gentleman on the boards and treats eveyone with respect. I've always looked up to Sonny.
I feel really protective of Mattie. Since she is so much younger than me I often forget that she is 19 and is an adult who can take care of herself. As we've become closer she has become like a little sis, and I can't help but feel protective of her.
MickeyMac 06-02-2009, 08:29 PM Whom here do I look up to the most, and whom am I the most protective of??
Everybody. Come here y'all :bighug:
Brad Russ 06-02-2009, 08:43 PM Wow, tough questions!! Well I couldn't pick just one that I most look up to, so I picked 3. Janice, Tara, and Cathie. Janice because she's my all time best friend here, and I love her strength, her straight forwardness, (although a bit intimidating at times, lol) her incredible tenacity in dealing with issues both on the board, and in her day to day life, as well as many other reasons. I pick Tara because I love her attitude. She's a kick ass and take names kind of person. She won't put up with anyone's crap, and will go down with a fight if need be. She's also one of the most thoughtful and caring people I've ever known, and I deeply admire her for that. I can easily go on forever about these ladies, but I'll keep it as brief as I can. And Cathie, ****, what can't I say about Cathie. I admire her for her incredibly brave battle with cancer, and other serious personal problems she's dealt with in her life, but mostly I respect her for her fighting spirit, and amazing attitude through it all. Do you know that in the time that I've been back here, I haven't once heard Cathie complain about her situation?? You know how amazing that is?? While some people post how distraught they are over having a rough day, Cathie's managed to stay funny, and keep her humor through cancer. That will never cease to amaze me, and my respect has grown for her 1000 fold after that. :D
As far as who I'm most protective over, I'd have to go with Mattie. Although she's a very responsible person who can easily take care of herself, I sometimes worry about people trying to maybe take advantage of her kindness, and genorosity. She has become such a good friend, and so quickly, and if anybody messed with her in a wrong way, if they lived close to me they'd get one good ass whooping, and if they lived far away, they'd get one good tongue lashing. Nobody messes with my Mattie!!!
Theda Bara 06-02-2009, 09:41 PM There is not any member that I look up to (per se) everyone here has something that I respect; as far as being protective of. I will always stand up for any member, whom, I think deserves my protection...

Brad, this is the reason why I love you; thank you for making me smile:)
MrCleveland 06-02-2009, 10:29 PM Monika (AKA-Catlover79)...she's also the one which I'm protective of.

Yeah, pretty much me too.
Number 9 Dream 06-02-2009, 10:33 PM I really like everyone here and have no enemies at S.O., but my heart will always belong to Lauren (Lulu Rogers) and Chelsea (Heart Shaped Box, who no longer posts here anymore :( ). They are two of the first people I met on this board (along with "I Love John Ritter," who sent me some awesome Three's Company tapes back in the day!), and I still keep in touch with them via email, facebook, myspace, AIM, etc. Lauren and I used to have fun chatting on yahoo (lol), and Chelsea used to be my writing buddy (we'd co-author some Three's Company fics together). All three of us had an undying obsession for John Ritter back in 2005 when I first registered here, so it was fun to have some gals to talk to about him and the show. Good times.
Brad Russ 06-02-2009, 10:37 PM Brad, this is the reason why I love you; thank you for making me smile:)
You're welcome Tara, and I don't care how mushy this is, but I love you too, more than you could ever know. As far as making you smile goes, I'm glad, I owed you one, because you make me smile all the time!! :)

Sometimes I really miss those days, we were tight back then! I miss chatting it up with you every night on Yahoo, boy did we have some good ones! ;)

LuLu Rogers 06-02-2009, 11:45 PM I look up to Janice, she's become like a mother to me. Tara is my best friend in the whole world, I love how she's comfortable with who she is and makes no bones about it. Cathie is like a super hero to me, the way she dealt with her brain tumor was just unreal, she's one in a million.
I feel protective of my younger girlies, Ashlee, Sarah and Courtnee. They're great girls and if anyone messes with them they have to answer to me! ;)

That's pretty much how I feel Tara.

Same here.

Hey, we look up to the same people. Maybe you and I really were made for each other. ;) We were definitely made to be great friends, that's for sure!! :)

Aw.
Waterston_Fan 06-03-2009, 12:03 AM Maybe it's that I've had a short time on the Chit Chat site even though I have been to other boards on SO....
I don't feel like I look up to anyone but no one bothers me on SO..
Nighthawk76 06-03-2009, 12:09 AM Thanks Mike. I appreciate all the kind words. :)
You're welcome, Sonny. :)
Zoneboy 06-03-2009, 03:10 AM I've been thinking about this since the question was first posted. There are many people here that I admire and I can't possibly mention them all but if I had to choose just one then it would have to be Aaron. He's definitely one of the friendliest people on this board, Doesn't argue and never has anything unkind to say toward anyone. He's also very appreciative when someone or myself helps him out with a question he may have and he almost always mentions when a celebrity is having a birthday. Unfortunately, I have seen him harassed by others and I don't like it one bit when that happens.

I agree with you Charles. Aaron is one of the nicest members on SO. He never causes any problems and is alays kind and polite to everybody. I don't like it when people pick on him either.
LuLu Rogers 06-03-2009, 02:08 PM Hey, we look up to the same people. Maybe you and I really were made for each other. ;) We were definitely made to be great friends, that's for sure!! :)

Nighthawk76 06-03-2009, 03:48 PM I agree with you Charles. Aaron is one of the nicest members on SO. He never causes any problems and is alays kind and polite to everybody. I don't like it when people pick on him either.
Aaron is a very nice guy. :)
Janice Johnson 06-03-2009, 06:14 PM I look up to Lee. He's a very nice guy..... Whenever I see that Winnie The Pooh Avatar,I smile....:D
Yooch 06-03-2009, 06:39 PM The vast majority of people on SO I respect. I wouldn't use the word 'look up to' because it almost requires you to name an individual, and I wouldn't want anyone to feel slighted. Everyone knows who the kind, considerate helpful people are here.
If I feel protective of anyone here, it would be Sharop, not that she needs protection; she can take care of herself quite well, thank you and I don't want to sound patronizing either. I regard her as if she were a younger sister and friend. I don't like it when she, or any member gets put down, for their views. People have a right to their opinions, and I will defend that.
Doodyville10019 06-03-2009, 06:44 PM I like everyone here on the boards - you guys are all nice people.
As far as anyone to be protective of, I'd defend anyone here that needed it, but there are four in particular I would 'fight to the death' for, so to say, and they are my friends Karl (tv star collector), Brad (Little Mel), Jude (Jude The Obscure), and Kimberlee (Punky POWER). All four are really fantastic people, and they are very loving, caring and special people to me.

Kimberlee is my best online friend and just a great friend overall. She's very loyal to her friends. Getting to know Kim over the last two months has played a big part in why the last couple of months have been the most enjoyable time I've spent here at SO. :)
catlover79 06-03-2009, 08:50 PM Gosh, it's hard to say who I really look up to or feel protective of since I see just about everyone here as a peer. Having said that, I probably look up to people like Tara, Cathie, Lu and Janice the most as they have encountered so many health problems and have fought their way back. Gotta love their determination and stamina.
Most protective of? I'll say Ashlee, since she and I have very similar problems when it comes to social anxiety and panic attacks. I hope she knows that I have her back. Finally, I agree that Aaron is very sweet and never hurts anyone. We should all follow his example.
qwerty 06-03-2009, 11:22 PM Since I primarily lurk here I can't say who I look up to - it does seem like a nice family atmosphere here though so thank you to all who contribute to that feeling. It is nice to get a response to questions I may have even though I don't post much.
I will also echo the sentiments about Aaron - he seems like a really nice guy - I miss the way he used to call many people here his friend.

Wow, I don't think anyone has ever looked up to me in my life, I'm very flattered! :bighug:
Nighthawk76 06-04-2009, 12:15 AM I didn't think anyone would post in this thread. And now it's on its third page. Where as I started a few threads on the Family Ties board which did not go over well at all. Except for Michelle, nobody posted in those threads. I guess you never can tell what people are going to respond to or not.
Janice 06-04-2009, 12:22 AM Wow, I don't think anyone has ever looked up to me in my life, I'm very flattered! :bighug:
I admire you, Lauren. I know you try very hard. True, it's gone unappreciated lately, but times are a changing. You're an ambitious young gal. I gotta know. Is that you with Wayne in your avatar? ;)

I wholeheartedly agree with Mike. I respect you so much for your drive and determination, and for your never give up attitude. You're a person who I can honestly say, that when you really want something, I know you're going to eventually get it, because of your never quit attitude. I deeply admire you for those reasons, and others. :)

Awww, thank you so much Joni!! :D You truly made my night with your comments. I'm so glad we became friends through Facebook, and I have a feeling we'll be friends for life!! You're an amazing woman yourself, and I truly consider you a GREAT friend. I love the chats we've had, (We should have another soon!!), and I LOVE the fact that you love sports as much as I do. We have alot in common I think. I'm still a little bummed that you beat me on the sports trivia challenge at Facebook. I'm kidding of course. ;) But I definitely admire a lady that can appreciate sports, as that seems to be rare these days. Anyway, you're awesome, and thanks again for your kindness. TRULY made my night!!!

catlover79 06-04-2009, 08:34 AM Aw thanks, Monika. I really appreciate that.
Any time, babe. :D
waichingliu81 06-04-2009, 05:21 PM i wouldn't say i look up to anyone in particular but the SO community is fantastic- everyone here is a joy to get along with. but as for most protective, i'd say aaron (scooby doo) especially. although the much younger members such as emo joe for example are ones of whom might need protecting though i'm sure they can take care of and look after themselves well :) .

wow--joni......I'm flabbergasted. I was afraid this thread was going to turn into another one of those "who is super popular" at SO things....sorry, but sometimes these threads end up being that. Thank You! After this week I've had on my job......It is nice to know I'm appreciated for something!
As for Brad, he's become like a younger brother to me :)
Dude111 05-14-2025, 07:49 PM I guess it was carole because every site just about I invited her ashore on they ended up sending her off to another island :(
Now its probably Todd..........
Hawkee 05-15-2025, 02:53 AM The person I admire most on here is Bonniegirl because she seems always so upbeat and friendly and is always nice especially to me and we could use more people like Bonniegirl around here. Next person I like is Opus because he's nice and talkative and always shares interesting facts about sitcoms or any shows with us
