I saw this movie about a month ago, and was absolutely enthralled by every minute of it. It stars Mickey Rourke as a pro wrestler dealing with the twilight of his pro wrestling career. This really can't be described as a wrestling movie, as it's more about a wrestler who stayed too long, and is dealing with life after wrestling. It shows the tragedy of what many wrestlers go through after their careers are over, such as drugs, being broke, having strained relationships with family, (in this case with his teenaged daughter), and it deals with a guy trying to adjust to the real world, after dealing with a make believe world for so many years. Seeing Rourke have to sleep in his van after being unable to pay his rent, and seeing his extremely strained relationship with his daughter, (despite bringing these problems on himself), was still a tragic thing to see. At one point we even see him working at a deli, not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's just sad seeing a guy go from being the top wrestler in the world, to go from getting some lady some tuna salad that no matter what he does, it seems to be too much, or too little for her, as he keeps going back and forth trying to get it right. I've seen many Rourke movies, and this is the best I've ever seen. I even saw him quoted as saying that it's the best movie he's ever made. I recommend this movie to everyone, and not just wrestling fans. As I said, it's a story about a tragic life, more than it's about wrestling. Great film!!

I have seen Iron Man, which was amazing, The Dark Knight, and The Wrestler. The rest I haven't seen yet, but I'm dying to see Defiance. I wanted to see it in theatres, but nobody wanted to go with me. I also want to see Gran Torino, Rambo, and Slumdog Millionaire. I'll list my tops of 2008, but need to think about it a little bit.

Rambo came out last year? I don't remember that. I thought it came out in 2007. I wanna see The Wrestler. Isn't Marisa Tomei a club stripper in the movie? Does Mickey have a sex scene with her? LOL. He always has a lot of sex in his movies hahahahahahahahahaha. I still haven't seen his 9 1/2 Weeks movie. I wanna see it. Little Mel, have you seen his Angel Heart movie with Robert Deniro and Lisa Bonet? Is it scary? It looks kinda scary to me just from reading what it's about. Little Mel, you didn't respond to the private message i sent you about Run DMC and rap music. I wanted to get your opinion about the message i sent you. It's really sad to see that some wrestlers have died tragically like Chris Jerico, Owen Hart, Andre The Giant. Am i missing any other wrestlers that have died tragically? I used to watch wrestling often when i was younger but not anymore. Hulk Hogan was my favorite wrestler.

Yes, Rambo came out in January 2008.

Rourke has a movie that he did with Diane Lane called Killshot. I want to rent that the next time I go out. Have you seen that one?

I haven't seen Angel Heart in years; I liked that one.

- btw, Chris Jericho is not dead.

What's that wrestler's name that died and his first name was Chris? He died a few years ago and he killed his family and himself. I haven't seen Killshot yet. I know it just came out on video this past Tuesday. I'm gonna rent it next weekend.

I finally got to see The Wrestler last weekend and I really enjoyed it.
Although it was depressing as Hell, it was a very powerful film.

Chris Benoit was the wrestler who killed his wife, son, and himself.

I really liked this film. The character was sort of molded after Jake The Snake Roberts who had substance abuse problems and is estranged from his family. I liked how it showed life on the road is hard on everyone involved.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to your pm Isiah. I still have about 5 people I still need to get back to. I get lazy sometimes. As far as Mickey having a sex scene with Tomei, no he doesn't. There is a brief sex scene in the movie, but it's with some groupie. Marisa is nude alot in this film though, which kind of surprised me. Not that I'm complaining any. I did see Angel Heart years back. I'll be honest, I mainly rented it because I was a horny teen, who had a crush on Lisa Bonet, and wanted to see her naked, so I don't remember much of the movie other than the sex scenes. Just being honest. lol!!

LOL@what you said about Lisa Bonet hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Yeah i read about the sex scene she did with Mickey Rourke but i never saw it because i thought the movie looked kinda scary and i don't watch horror films. Is Angel Heart scary Little Mel? I read that Robert Deniro plays the devil in the movie and there's some voodoo scenes in the movie. I've seen Marisa Tomei nude before in Factotum movie with Matt Dillon. That movie is wack by the way LOL. Very boring LOL. Matt Dillon and Marisa are alcoholics in the movie and there's several sex scenes with Matt and Marisa and Matt and another woman. Matt Dillon is a lucky guy that he's had several sex scenes with attractive actresses. I saw him and Diane Lane in The Big Town movie and him and Diane have a few sex scenes. In one scene, he f*cked her on a bar counter at a strip club that she worked at because she was a stripper hahahahahahahahahaha. I got The Big Town on vhs and i watch it sometimes just to see the sex scenes LOL. He also had a love scene with her in Rumblefish movie which Mickey Rourke was also in. Matt and Diane were kissing on the couch and Diane took off some of her clothes. I love Diane Lane. She is a hot woman and she's still hot after all these years. She's aged very well. I got a few pictures of her on my bedroom wall.

I loved The Wrestler. Can't say how, but I saw The Wrestler and Defiance before they were even at the theater. I've loved Mickey Rourke since the movie, The Pope of Greenwich Village. If you haven't see that, Brad, check it out. Eric Roberts is soooo underrated.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Wrestler, I was going to recommend it to you. One thing that bugs me about this movie, is that everyone who I've recommended it to has reacted the same way, But I hate professional wrestling they say. I try to explain to them that the movie is not as much about wrestling, as it is about a man dealing with life after wrestling. This is unfortunately the type of life that many pro wrestlers ended up living after they retired, and I think this would be interesting to all movie fans. I just think it's ashame that so many people are missing out on a great movie, simply because of the title.

As far as your recommendation goes, so far you're batting .1000 on your recommendations to me, so I trust your judgment when it comes to good movies. Infact, your most recent recommendation (Marley & Me) is now a part of my very exclusive DVD collection, so I will definitely check this one out as well, and let you know what I thought of it. Thanks for the recommendation Janice!! :)

To be honest with you Isiah, I don't even think I watched the movie Angel Heart, I just fast forwarded it to the scenes where Bonet was naked. I feel like such a loser saying that, but hey, like I said, I was a horny kid, and no girls liked me back then, so what do you expect?? lol! Btw, you can call me Brad if you'd like. And I just want you to know that I got your recent pm's, and will be responding soon. I laughed my ass off reading some of those lyrics you sent me. Even listened to the songs on youtube. Good stuff!!

Don't feel bad about girls not liking you Little Mel. I've never really been popular with females either and i don't care. More money for me that i don't have to spend on them hahahahahahahahahahaha. I don't want a girlfriend anyway because women get on my nerves. All they wanna do is spend men's money but when men ask them for sex, they don't wanna do that. But they don't have a problem with men spending a lot of money on them taking them to a restaurant, movie, a club and buying them drinks and buying them gifts LOL. That's why i'd rather deal with prostitutes because all i want is to massage and kiss their feet and kiss their legs LOL. I don't want sex from them. A lot of them have sex with different guys and i guess they wear condoms but if they don't, they're stupid. I don't understand why guys go to strip clubs and will pay a lot of money to give to them but they won't get with a prostitute. Does that make sense to you? LOL. At least a prostitute will give you some sex for money but strippers won't give you any sex LOL. So what sense does it make to give a stripper a lot of money just to see her take off some clothes and dance? What a waste of money. I've never been to a strip club and i have no intention of ever going.

Plus i think sex is overrated. So many guys brag to other men about women they've had sex with but i don't see what the big deal is about it. Yeah sex makes you feel good but after you're done doing it, then what? You gotta deal with the woman after you've had sex with her and most times guys don't wanna be bothered with women because women are always getting men to spend money on them and guys get tired of spending money on them. If i was a virgin, i wouldn't care because sex doesn't mean anything to me. I hate so many women, i could care less if i don't have sex for the rest of my life. The reason i hate a lot of women is because of their attitudes and they're stuck up. I really despise black women. I hate so many of them. I'm gonna give you a example of why i hate most women.

There's this white girl i work with at my job. Wednesday night i called her because i wanted to talk to her. She's very attractive and she's nice or so i thought. She's married with 2 kids. We didn't talk that long because she told me she was helping her daughter with her homework. So when i come to work the next day, her supervisor calls me in her office to talk to me. She asks me did i call her yesterday and i said yeah. She said why and i said because i wanted to talk to her. Then she says don't call her anymore and i said fine. Now the thing that upsets me about that is Diana(white girl i talked to)should've said to me that she didn't want me to call her anymore instead of going behind my back to tell her supervisor. That's why men should be very careful dealing with women because you have some women that will get you in trouble. Most men only have sex on the brain when they look at women and that's why so many of them get themselves in trouble.

I just saw The Wrestler a few weeks ago and i liked it. Marisa Tomei still looks hot. I wonder if Mickey's daughter was a lesbian since she was living with that ugly black girl LOL. It looked like his daughter was gonna forgive him and give him a 2nd chance to be a good father but he messed up again because he forgot that they were supposed to have dinner together. He went to a party, got drunk and had sex. So that's how he forgot LOL. I wonder why he acted like he didn't like being recognized by that white guy when he worked at a grocery store in the deli department. The white guy customer kept asking him was he a wrestler and he said no. I guess he was embarrassed to be working at a grocery store and be recognized by a fan, because i guess he thought the guy was probably wondering why would he be working at a grocery store when he's supposed to have a lot of money from wrestling. But that's what happens to lots of entertainers. They don't spend and save their money wisely. So therefore they have to settle for jobs that pay a sh*tty salary to make money because they don't have any money saved when they were a entertainer. It was messed up that he was living in a trailerpark and one time he had to sleep in his van because he didn't have money to pay the rent.
