I think that Lenny Wilkens also had something to do with Dominique getting traded because at the time when Lenny was the coach, i heard him and Dominique weren't getting along. Lenny felt that Dominique wasn't a team player and he liked to shoot too much and not get his teammates involved.

True LOL. But he still shouldn't have been traded. He was their star player and teams aren't supposed to trade their star players for a average player. Danny Manning was a average player. He was good when he was healthy but he was injury prone and he definitely wasn't better than Dominique.

Dominique wasn't that great of a player just looked that way because of his flashy dunking style. Here is why Dominque was probably traded

after going to game 7 with the Celtics in Game 7in 1988, this was the future results

1988-89-Hawks put out in the 1st round by Bucks

1989-90-No playoffs

1990-91-put out in the 1st round by Pistons

1991-92-No playoffs

1992-93-Put out and swept by Bulls in 1st round

1993-94-after He was traded, Hawks got out 1st round


So for the next 6 years the Hawks were either knocked out of the first round or not in the playoffs until he was traded. So he was obviously the problem

Lenny had a valid point regarding that aspect. Dominique was the Vince Carter of his time. Excellent individual player, but not a team player. But, he did deserve to go to the Hall of Fame.
